US House Committee hearings are dull unless there’s a topic, like the weaponization of the FBI, where fireworks will start popping off from Matt Gaetz and others. The House Committee on Education hearing was somewhat low-key but riddled with appalling moments, like when three college heads from MIT, Harvard and UPenn endorsed Jewish genocide. They were asked point blank by Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-NY) if such harassment violated their respective campuses' codes of conduct, among other things. All three gave academic answers, essentially saying that context is everything. In other words, they don’t condemn those calling for the mass slaughter of Jews, opting to protect the pro-terrorist cohorts,

It depends on what the meaning of "is" is. Haven't we heard this sort of thing before. How difficult is it to say yes or no.

If the mobs were saying/doing the exact same things but swapped out Jew for any of black, lesbian, trans, or any other favored leftist group, the administrators would have stomped out the mobs instantly and the people involved would be expelled.

The New York Times is saying that Elise doesn’t understand the language of academia? She is an academic herself, having graduated from Harvard. The problem for the NYT is that she understands the language all too well, as do we all.

It would be an interesting experiment to have people on campus calling for the extermination of blacks using the same dialogue they used when calling for the extermination of Jews. Would these college presidents still be so wimpy in condemning the rhetoric? Would they still think that as long as there was no action the statements would be OK. Leftist hypocrisy on steroids.

"Context is everything". Yeah, if you sound like a conservative.....ANYTHING you say or do is forbidden. If you spout leftist rhetoric and use the leftist phrases....you can call for genocide, systemic racism, all sorts of hate, murder and mayhem.....AS LONG as it is leftist. No free market or conservative thoughts permitted.

The presidents were in a bind. If they took a strong stand against the genocide advocates, they stood to lose huge donations from middle eastern oligarchs. If they waffled, they would lose huge donations from Jewish philanthropists. Their accountants told them not to offend the sheiks.

A Turkish member of parliament collapsed on Tuesday with an apparent heart attack amid discussing godly punishments for the Israeli people. Felicity (Saadet) Party Member Hasan Bitmez fell beside a podium while addressing the Grand Assembly of the Turkish National Assembly during a reported budgetary discussion. "You will not escape the wrath of Allah," Bitmez, 54, said moments before he fainted and seemingly hit his head on the floor, immediately drawing a swarm of onlookers to intervene and provide medical attention. He reportedly has diabetes. (X) Multiple reports indicate that some type of cardiac event occurred requiring life-saving measures,

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund hasn’t been afraid to dish out money to lure the top PGA Tour stars to come and play for LIV Golf. Jon Rahm is no exception. In fact, he’s the new bar. Although an exact figure has yet to be determined, estimates on how much Rahm was paid to leave the PGA Tour were in the $400 million to $600 million range. The Telegraph reported the most precise number at $566 million, with $302 million being paid upfront. Those figures would move Rahm, the defending Masters champion and 11-time PGA Tour winner, into an upper echelon of athletes earning more than $500 million in their career.

We have the means to do it.

The U.S. House of Representatives voted 221-197 Wednesday evening to pass the Choice in Automobile Retail Sales (CARS) Act, which would strike down federal regulations that target gas-powered vehicles. Two hundred and sixteen and five Democrats voted in favor. The measure will next go to the Senate, where it’s enjoyed bipartisan support. President Biden issued a statement Monday, however, vowing to veto the bill if and when it hits his desk. The president and his administration have been aggressive in pushing electric vehicles, and this bill is designed to stymie efforts to have the government decide what kind of car you can drive.

As Cop28 in Dubai enters its final hours, the emotional weight of the moment is hard to bear. I find myself thinking of a six-year-old boy called Desmond I met in Turkana county, Kenya, who died from severe acute malnutrition on the same day. His death was the result of a climate-induced drought that has left millions of people on the brink of starvation in the Horn of Africa. I want the negotiators deciding the outcome of Cop28 to know Desmond’s story. Because in the end, the climate crisis is not about pledges, statistics, reports or activists. It’s about human suffering and ruined lives. It’s about death.

Ron DeSantis is running as the true-blue conservative in the race for the Republican presidential nomination. And he's learning the hard way that Republicans don't nominate true-blue conservatives. As Donald Trump leads every poll by double-digits, the Florida governor who seemed such a promising prospect just a year ago is now at risk of falling to third place. If Nikki Haley bests DeSantis in Iowa, his 2024 campaign won't be the only casualty; his hopes of ever becoming president will dim, and rivals won't fear him as they look to '28 or '32.
