WASHINGTON (AP) — President Joe Biden goes into next year’s election with a vexing challenge: Just as the U.S. economy is getting stronger, people are still feeling horrible about it. Pollsters and economists say there has never been as wide a gap between the underlying health of the economy and public perception. The divergence could be a decisive factor in whether the Democrat secures a second term next year. Republicans are seizing on the dissatisfaction to skewer Biden, while the White House is finding less success as it tries to highlight economic progress.

Comments:

One of the many things this author doesn't understand is that inflation measures the rate at which prices are changing. After 3 years of sky rocketing inflation the fact that it might be slowing doesn't reduce over inflated prices.

"Public Perception" that the economy is bad might be because groceries, fuel and every thing else has spiked higher in price. Half the prospective home buyers in the country cannot afford a house because of the current prices and interest rate, new cars are basically unaffordable now for the average person, credit card debt is skyrocketing and foreclosures and bankruptcies are rising. Yet the AP still tries to sell the lie to try their best to cover for FJB. If Biden is reelected, we will be looking at a depression worse than the one in 1929.

Yeah, the inflation rate may be going down. But if it cost $1.00 in 2021, and went up 10% in 2022 to $1.10, and now goes up 5% in 2023 to $1.15 or $1.16, it's still higher than it was when Sleepy Creepy Crooked President Uncle Joe took office. It's kind of like getting beaten over the head. Instead of the club hitting you four times a minute, it's hitting you twice a minute. Still hurts.

ATLANTA — Hundreds of activists breached the site of a proposed police and fire training center in Atlanta’s wooded outskirts on Sunday, burning police and construction vehicles and a trailer, and setting off fireworks at officers stationed nearby. The destruction occurred on the second day of what is supposed to be a weeklong series of demonstrations to protest what the activists have derided as Cop City, a planned 85-acre campus owned by the city.

WASHINGTON - U.S. President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that Israel is losing support over its "indiscriminate" bombing of Gaza and that Benjamin Netanyahu should change, exposing a new rift in relations with the Israeli prime minister. Biden's remarks, made to donors to his 2024 re-election campaign, were his most critical to date of Netanyahu's handling of Israel's war in Gaza. They are a stark contrast to his literal and political embrace of the Israeli leader days after Hamas militants' Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel. "Israel's security can rest on the United States, but right now it has more than the United States. It has the European Union, it has Europe,

While previous U.N. climate agreements committed member states to work toward slowing global warming, the deal announced Wednesday was the first to include an explicit commitment to do away with “fossil fuels.”
