These are not school, or district, officials, the games, facilities, officials, and concessions are all contracted to the "Gold Crown Foundation", which holds multiple games at a time at their large private facility. They recruit, hire, train, and certify the "Staff" which includes the concession workers and the Refs. They tout much of it as a "Jobs Program" for those who had an underprivileged youth. While their original focus and mainstay is B Ball....they also now have geared up to include soccer, volleyball, lacrosse as a "One stop shop" for many school's head athletic administrator. The job is generally only on Sat, takes about 4 hrs reff'ing several games, Pays $20hr.

Uncle Sam wants YOU … to hire Grandpa as a piano lugger. Or else. That’s the latest madness from the federal government’s woke bowels: an Equal Employment Opportunity Commission lawsuit against Fresno-based Meathead Movers after the company refused to comply with a demand for a $15 million settlement. Meathead’s crime? “Discouragement bias,” i.e., the claim that hiring student-athletes of both genders in tip-top shape as movers and touting that fact in ads somehow discourages older people from applying for jobs.

After receiving criticism from experts and climate activists over President Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris skipping the global United Nations summit in Dubai, the White House has now decided to send Harris. Reuters reported back in October that Biden wouldn’t be attending the annual conference, though he had attended the climate summits in 2021 and 2022. Biden aides told Reuters that conflict in the Middle East arising out of the Hamas terrorist attacks on Israel and the president's reelection campaign were demanding his time.

Wyoming Gov. Mark Gordon sparked a backlash from state lawmakers when he discussed plans to make the Cowboy State carbon dioxide-neutral during a talk at Harvard last month. “It is clear that we have a warming climate. It is clear that carbon dioxide is a major contributor to that challenge. There is an urgency to addressing this issue,” Gordon said during the “Decarbonizing The West” talk. The governor added that the problem won’t be solved by turning off fossil fuels, and he promoted the use of carbon capture and sequestration.

New MTA reporting shows farebeating on buses and subways is still rising — a clear warning that broader public disorder is ahead. Just what New York needs when Mayor Adams is looking to shrink the NYPD. Reminder: A crackdown on farebeating was the first major step in the city’s historic gains against crime starting back in the 1990s. Bill Bratton, then chief of the MTA police, directed that effort in order to make the subways safer: If you commit a casual crime to enter the system, he realized, you become more likely to commit worse crimes while you’re there.

DUBLIN — In the 12 months leading up to April this year, 141,600 immigrants landed in Ireland. The Irish population has increased by more than 2%. If the US had similar immigration, it would mean 9 million extra people. This is the highest level since the prosperous “Celtic Tiger” era of the late ’90s. Ireland’s non-nationals comprise a whopping 20% of the population. The tinder box of immigration blew open Thursday with a mass riot in Dublin following the stabbing of a number of young children outside a school near the main street.

WASHINGTON - U.S. President Joe Biden said on Tuesday that Israel is losing support over its "indiscriminate" bombing of Gaza and that Benjamin Netanyahu should change, exposing a new rift in relations with the Israeli prime minister. Biden's remarks, made to donors to his 2024 re-election campaign, were his most critical to date of Netanyahu's handling of Israel's war in Gaza. They are a stark contrast to his literal and political embrace of the Israeli leader days after Hamas militants' Oct. 7 attack on southern Israel. "Israel's security can rest on the United States, but right now it has more than the United States. It has the European Union, it has Europe,

For the first time in the nearly 30-year history of the United Nations summit on climate change, all nations gathered unanimously agreed to a resolution that called for “transitioning away from fossil fuels” and committed member states to tripling existing green-energy infrastructure by 2030. The nearly 200 member countries gathered at the COP28 Climate Summit in Dubai agreed to transition away from fossil fuels “in a just, orderly and equitable manner” before entirely eliminating carbon emissions by 2050. While previous U.N. climate agreements committed member states to work toward slowing global warming, the deal announced Wednesday was the first to include an explicit commitment to do away with “fossil fuels.”
