MEXICO CITY — Lawyer Isabel Lazo’s jobs are being systematically canceled by Nicaragua’s increasingly repressive government. Lazo worked at a university before the government of President Daniel Ortega closed it. She now is employed at a nongovernmental organization that she fears will soon be shuttered too. Nicaragua’s poisonous mix of economic decline and repression has led to about half of the country’s population of 6.2 million saying they want to leave their homeland, according to a new study, and 23% saying they had contemplated the possibility deeply enough to consider themselves “very prepared” to emigrate. “A large proportion of them

That's about 3,000,000 people who have their bags packed and are ready to go. Nearby countries do not want to be flooded with Nicaraguans, so I can only guess where they plan to go.

The big point here is that if half the country wants to leave why don't they try changing the Government they have there. Rise up and toss Ortega out.

Following up with #1: Easier said than done. "The tree of Liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." In todays world the oppressed would rather live in tyranny than die or be jailed for confronting the oppressors. The half that wants change is unwilling to confront their overlords whether it be in a third world country or even right here. The majority of Americans want change but few are willing or able to confront the overlords that are chipping away at the greatness of America.

In spite of what lifelong leftist Bianca Jagger might think, Nicaraguans want to get out of that communist sh**hole. Overthrow the government, or move. Here in the USA we don't have that luxury.

Hardly a surprise. The Biden administration promotes this. Heard of the underground railroad? This is their illegal railroad. It's probably being paid for with our tax dollars.

Notice how Socialist countries eventually have to build walls to keep their population from fleeing. That, alone, should be enough evidence that Socialism is more oppressive than Capitalism. But the Kool-Aid-drinking Leftie could have the truth stuffed into his face and still refuse to accept it.

Nicaraguans can go cry their crocodile tears somewhere else. Daniel Ortega took power in 1979, after they overthrew Somoza. Then, he revealed himself to be a Communist. The Russians and Cubans moved in to help him rape the country. After about eight or nine years, Ortega was defeated in an election, and they got rid of him. he left the country for a few years - and then, they let him back in! A few years after that he ran for president in another election - and the Nicaraguans VOTED HIM IN. Sorry, folks. You got just what you voted for. Embrace the suck, or do something about it, but don't cross into Mexico on your way here screaming that you're refugees.

Poster #6 is right. Where do Americans go to get away from tyranny? That many people can try to fix their nation, but the struggle is real.

A lead United Nations agency overseeing food and agriculture policy is expected to issue a road map in the coming weeks which will call on the West, including America, to dramatically reduce its meat consumption. The UN's Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) will publish its so-called global food systems’ road map during the upcoming COP28 climate summit in Dubai which will kick off on Thursday and extend nearly two weeks until mid-December. FAO's first-of-its-kind document will recommend nations that "over-consume meat" to limit their consumption as part of a broader effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Bloomberg reported. Some activists are starting to criticize Fetterman's "trollish style," especially on the Israel-Hamas war, per a Politico article from Wednesday. Fetterman, a progressive Democrat, has come out in public support of Israel after the Oct. 7 surprise terrorist attacks on Israeli, American and other civilians by Hamas. It is a stance that has angered the left-wing of the Democratic Party. Fetterman has left far-left figures bitterly disappointed as he has been one of Israel's strongest proponents during the war, putting

A museum spokesperson said it was "only polite and respectful to be sensitive to identifying pronouns for people in the past". The museum has one coin of Elagabalus, which is often displayed amongst other LGBTQ+items in its collection. It said it consulted LGBTQ+

President Biden turns 81 tomorrow. We wish him a happy birthday in the privacy with which he is bound to celebrate it. His handlers sought to conceal his decline by keeping him in the basement during the 2020 presidential campaign. In office, his handlers have sought to conceal his decline by a variety

Say what? As bad as we expected the Antony Blinken Lecture Tour in Jerusalem to be, even I wouldn’t have predicted that a US Secretary of State would have said this to a country victimized by a massive terror attack that killed 1400 people. That is, if Blinken actually told the Israelis that they don’t have enough “credit” to fight Hamas to the finish. The transcript comes from the Times of Israel, which translated it from a Hebrew transcript leaked to Israel’s Channel 12 News. Could something have gotten lost in translation? Perhaps, but it’s not the only eyebrow-raising part of the exchange, either. It begins with Blinken
