Cup Foods, others allege city caused ‘hardships’

A group of businesses residing at the south Minneapolis intersection where George Floyd was murdered allege in a lawsuit filed earlier this month that the city knowingly caused harm by barricading the surrounding streets for more than a year. The filing claims concrete barricades erected around the intersection of 38th Street East and Chicago Avenue South caused businesses to suffer “tremendous economic hardships as well as threats and actual harm to the physical well-being of its owners and tenants.” (Snip) The businesses also allege the city “allowed crime to overtake the area,” citing reports that police and medics encountered hostility

Comments:

Criminals had free reign around St George Square. And the city aided and abetted them.

The article states that George Floyd was murdered. HE WAS NOT. He died from a self inflicted overdose of Fentanyl.

I was in Minneapolis during the entire George Floyd event. Where was law enforcement, as they were nowhere to be found? Was this on purpose? It was evident that he had something on his tongue (a white substance) and in a video a few minutes later, the white substance was gone. It was probably the fentanyl. The medical examiner just recently stated that Floyd died of an overdose of fentanyl, he was not murdered. There was no trauma to his throat, the delicate bones that are crushed during someone being choked, and no trauma to any part of the chest or throat area. Did the prosecutor hide that ME's report? Did the Minneapolis police throw the cops who arrested Floyd under the bus for purely partisan reasons? This lifelong criminal died of a drug overdose, plain and simple. And if someone is truly choking, you can not talk and keep screaming..."I can't breathe." He was saying that when he was in the back of the PD car before they had him on the ground. And what about the two billion dollars in damage caused by these rioters? Who's going to step up and go after the ones that burnt down their own neighborhoods? And the area of Lake Street and Hennepin Avenue was a delightful place to go on any day or evening out. Now it's dedicated to Floyd and it's a dangerous place to go at any hour of the day or night, I wouldn't go down there armed on a bet as a white senior citizen. MSgt USAF (ret)

Minneapolis, like Chicago, New York, and San Francisco, is lost. The liberals in control will keep running the place down until there is nothing of value left.

A lead United Nations agency overseeing food and agriculture policy is expected to issue a road map in the coming weeks which will call on the West, including America, to dramatically reduce its meat consumption. The UN's Food & Agriculture Organization (FAO) will publish its so-called global food systems’ road map during the upcoming COP28 climate summit in Dubai which will kick off on Thursday and extend nearly two weeks until mid-December. FAO's first-of-its-kind document will recommend nations that "over-consume meat" to limit their consumption as part of a broader effort to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, Bloomberg reported. Some activists are starting to criticize Fetterman's "trollish style," especially on the Israel-Hamas war, per a Politico article from Wednesday. Fetterman, a progressive Democrat, has come out in public support of Israel after the Oct. 7 surprise terrorist attacks on Israeli, American and other civilians by Hamas. It is a stance that has angered the left-wing of the Democratic Party. Fetterman has left far-left figures bitterly disappointed as he has been one of Israel's strongest proponents during the war, putting

A museum is to relabel its display about a Roman emperor after concluding that he was in fact a trans woman. North Hertfordshire Museum will now refer to emperor Elagabalus with the female pronouns of she and her. It comes after classical texts claim the emperor once said "call me not Lord, for I am a Lady". A museum spokesperson said it was "only polite and respectful to be sensitive to identifying pronouns for people in the past". The museum has one coin of Elagabalus, which is often displayed amongst other LGBTQ+items in its collection. It said it consulted LGBTQ+

President Biden turns 81 tomorrow. We wish him a happy birthday in the privacy with which he is bound to celebrate it. He doesn’t want to draw attention to his achievement in longevity, though I can’t think of another positive achievement he can claim. Eighty-one might not be too old to be president, but Biden gives evidence in every public appearance that it is, at least in his case. His handlers sought to conceal his decline by keeping him in the basement during the 2020 presidential campaign. In office, his handlers have sought to conceal his decline by a variety

Say what? As bad as we expected the Antony Blinken Lecture Tour in Jerusalem to be, even I wouldn’t have predicted that a US Secretary of State would have said this to a country victimized by a massive terror attack that killed 1400 people. That is, if Blinken actually told the Israelis that they don’t have enough “credit” to fight Hamas to the finish. The transcript comes from the Times of Israel, which translated it from a Hebrew transcript leaked to Israel’s Channel 12 News. Could something have gotten lost in translation? Perhaps, but it’s not the only eyebrow-raising part of the exchange, either. It begins with Blinken

Joe Biden has apparently noticed that the price of everything is much higher on his watch than a few years ago. He is now asking sellers to just lower their prices. As a viral commercial once said. That’s not how this works. That’s not how any of this works. Companies don’t lower prices just because inflation is politically inconvenient for the president and his party.
