Pressure is on Newsom to quickly appoint
Feinstein’s temporary replacement

The death of Sen. Dianne Feinstein places Gov. Gavin Newsom under intense pressure to quickly name a replacement as a bitterly divided Congress votes on a spending plan in the coming hours to avert a government shutdown. Newsom had hoped to avoid the politically charged decision of selecting a second senator. But he will need to move swiftly as a budget standoff has the government on the verge of shutting down, and Senate Democrats could need every vote. The timing of Feinstein’s death — four months before a primary but more than a year before the end of her term

Dems don't mourn for long. They are already jockeying to get her Senate seat. Since Gavvy already promised to appoint a black woman, the pickings are slim - unless he breaks his pledge.

Hunter Biden really, really wants the job. He can sell his paintings in his Senate field offices. He can bunk at dad's place until he finds suitable housing. For his DC office, he can hire his old 'flames'.

Don't be surprised if he just appoints Pelosi...One vote missing in the house right now is a whoooole lot less impactful than One "more" vote missing in the senate, particularly if Menendez gets quickly censured or forced out.. If Sinema and or Manchin announce that they will be caucusing with the Repubs? The entire Senate flips to Repub control. All new Chairs, all new schedules, all new committees.(even if only for a short time) It would be EPIC!

First of all qualifications is off the list so that makes it easier. Then he has to scout around for someone or something so they can be a "first". Maybe a black male who thinks he is a white woman. Or someone who is into identifying with a dog. That would be good. No wait, this is truly a first. A black female midget who does not identify as any sex (I am sure there is a cute name for it) but dresses butch and performed in a circus sideshow (which is the same as working in the Senate) and steals other women's luggage. Wait, that's been done. Maybe she? could date a very tall white wnba basketball player. That would make for interesting photos. This might be easier than I thought. After all we are talking about California, the land of nuts.

Meghan Markle is reportedly "in the running to fill Dianne Feinstein's California Senator seat" as the Duchess considers a run for office. According to a major Democratic donor close to Californian Governor Gavin Newsom, who is set to choose Feinstein's replacement, the possibility of the Duchess of Sussex running is not impossible. Although a long-shot replacement for the 90-year-old pioneer, there is speculation Meghan could serve out the remaining 13 months of Feinstein's term. A source told the Mail on Sunday: "Meghan is definitely a long-shot but in the craziness that is US politics these days it's not an impossibility.

The Biden administration announced its latest regulatory action targeting home appliances late Friday, this time targeting popular home gas-powered furnaces. The Department of Energy (DOE) said the energy efficiency regulations would slash household utility costs by $1.5 billion on an annual basis while reducing greenhouse gas emissions from the residential sector. The proposal, according to the agency, require non-weatherized gas furnaces and those used in mobile homes to achieve a far higher level of efficiency than cheaper models on the market. "At the direction of Congress, DOE is continuing to review and finalize energy standards for household appliances, such as

London - One of Ukraine’s closest and most vocal allies has now said it will stop sending arms to Kyiv, a major reversal that threatens to upend Europe’s strategic relationship with the country as it wages a counteroffensive against Russia. Poland’s decision was both sudden and predictable, coming after months of tensions over a temporary ban on Ukrainian grain imports to a number of European Union countries. It also follows a pattern of increasingly confrontational behavior towards Kyiv from Poland’s government, just weeks before a tight general election. And it could have implications for Ukraine’s attempts to push Russian forces

In the past, the vast majority of children were fully potty trained around three years old, give or take a couple of months. However, today kindergarten teachers often report to We Are Teachers that 15-20% of their classroom is not potty-trained, and that even a few first-graders are still in Pull-Ups.
