U.S. President Joe Biden has wasted no time and signed the continuing resolution, holding off a shutdown until November 17 after saying 'we should have never been in this position.'
The White House released a statement which read: 'On Saturday, September 30, 2023, the President signed into law: H.R. 5860, which provides fiscal year appropriations to Federal agencies through November 17, 2023 for continuing projects of the Federal Government and extends several expiring authorities.'
The U.S. avoided a government shutdown after the Senate secured enough votes to pass a bill to keep the government funded for 45 days just hours before Saturday's midnight deadline.

Political theater, grandstanding, acting and BS! Congress is infested with fools, liars, corruption and incompetence! These boobs won’t close the border, balance the budget or pass laws that don’t benefit special interests! In other words, Congress is working against We, the People!

You can safely bet that the wimpy Republicans caved to leftist and socialist Democrat demands that will be found hidden in that large piece of legislation.

And so it continues, just like it always does. Do what you always did, get what you always got. 31 trillion in debt, bill of rights erased, endless war. But the plus side is lots of bribe money for crooked politicians.

What a bunch of nincompoop political hacks. Both Dems and Repubs. It's Kabuki Theater on the Potomac. Due to reckless spending, the DC Kabuki Theater will eventually bring America down and we will become Venezuela.

NO spending cuts so the trillions stay in the budget so we get to have more inflation? The Republicans caved again. They're worthless and so are the demonrats.

Maybe the solution is in the hands of citizens. It is foolish to hope that Congress will ever behave differently. This will happen again and again and again as it already has for decades and members of Congress will play their assigned roles the same way: Democrats will pretend to care about the poor and Republicans will pretend to struggle until they inevitably cave. It is all as intellectually insulting as it is wrong and only citizens can stop it. We must withhold federal taxes en masse and do so before the 87,000 armed IRS agents the Biden administration has called for, literally the size of a standing army, are sworn in.

So . . . another Continuing Resolution . . . the way it's been for years, spending money on their pet programs and dubious appropriations. There is no budget, no planning, no accountability, just a never ending draining of the American taxpayer and selling our souls down the drain. The make the proverbial drunken sailor look good.

Dang. I was kinda hoping for at least a couple of free days off having just finished up with the fiscal year end activities. I would have eventually gotten paid for the days off regardless, and I need the rest. Oh well, I'll be at my desk in the morning.

Once again the daily question must be asked: Why vote republican? The definition of stupid? - Doing the same thing over and over again (Voting for corrupt, surrender monkey republicans) and expecting a different result. That is us. We have no place to turn and the entire political system is rigged against us. This will not and cannot end well.

So glad they found a way to keep spending our money. It's their one talent. Thank you, McCarthy, Mitch and all of the squishy, cowardly people who claim to have our best interests at heart.

And so what kind of legislation do they plan to pass the next budget crisis in about 40 days? The house needs to stop doing "omnibus" funding bills and get back to passing funding for specific departments.

Every media outlet seems to think this is great news that the government isn't shutting down. As if the government shutting down is going to affect every living being and the average citizen really cared.

We're saved! (/s)
Don't call it a spending bill. Call it a looting bill. They don't have the money. Expect a jump in inflation as the dollar loses even more value.

Since Biden keeps our borders open when the government is open, I was hoping for a federal shutdown in order to shut the southern border. No federal border guards, therefor no Customs agents to cut and remove the barbed wire installed by an overrun Texas. Also no federally paid for flights to whatever city the illegals prefer. And, no welcome packages with Medicaid cards, food stamp cards, cell phones and voter registration forms.
Shutdown would have meant our immigration laws would be enforced because the federal government wasn’t able to ignore these laws.

The Senate is a worthless gaggle of geriatrics these days who won't take action on ANYTHING if it impacts their accumulation of personal wealth!!!
The Founders intended for there to be a stop gap from some in the House getting taken over by a tyrant wanting things to happen quickly to change the culture of the nation. Those in the House have been along for the ride lately.
MANY of the republicans who were elected in the 2022 elections KNEW they would try to ram through another Omnibus "catch all" or "Continuing Resolution" bill to keep KICKING THE HARD DECISION of cutting spending down the road.
The debt is unsustainable and is making the purchasing power of our money worth less and less and more and more worthless-- with MILLIONS of ILLEGAL ALIENS pouring over the border invading and occupying the nation, the financial stress is compounding itself rapidly.
McCarthy agreed to many things to change this in order to become Speaker, and has welshed on the solemn deals he made to become the Speaker. Behind the scenes there are some respectful efforts to have him live up to the promises he made to NEVER throw something together, but rather to consider each bill offer in a "clean" manner WITHOUT added special interest PORK-- this he has not done!
Matt Gaetz is a self-serving idiot, but he is threatening to remove and replace the Speaker for this. While he is a showboat, I would agree with this effort if he does not agree to honor his word to change how this business is done.
Several of the so-called 'repubicans' are siding with the demonrat socialist Marxist and that puts McCarthy being 'mugwump' and non-comittal.
It is OUTRAGEOUS that while the Ukraine (the dems plan) was cut, that the BORDER which is a National Security item is left out. Time for the people to be heard in the Halls of Congress from those who are about to lose their jobs and personal situations to the illegals who will have kids and take over the country creating newly minted 'citizens' who will take away your rights to live on your own terms.

There remains only a tiny band of genuine conservative patriots who are fulfilling their oaths of office with integrity and courage. We are not fooled that many House Freedom Caucus members Voted Nay but did so once they saw this farce letting bill would prevail anyway. Most were nowheresville fighting publicly beside Gaetz and Biggs. The excuses being made are the same we hear since late 90’s. McCarthy is a liar.

Thanks to Matt Gaetz, Biden’s favorite Republican, and the four stooges that follow him, a continuing resolution that decreased the growth of spending and addressed the border failed. Instead we now have a CR that increases the growth of spending and ignores the border. Quite a win, Matt. You should be proud.
