California Governor Gavin Newsom (D) will appoint Laphonza Butler to fill Feinstein’s vacant Senate seat.
“California Gov. Gavin Newsom will appoint EMILY’s List President Laphonza Butler to fill the seat of the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, elevating the head of a fundraising juggernaut that works to elect Democratic women who support abortion rights, according to a person familiar with the decision.” Politico reported.
Laphonza Butler lives in Maryland and registered to vote there LAST YEAR! Dianne Feinstein died Thursday night at the age of 90. She was the longest-serving woman in the US Senate.

One would think that the People who actually LIVE in CA would be unhappy about Newsom pulling such a stunt. Lots of CA Folks want that Seat, including some who serve in the House and want to move up! Is Newsom so Powerful that he can pull this off? Time will tell!

A major political mistake! She's doesn't have a wife, or hoodie, and she hasn't had a disabling stroke. Her history does not include releasing thousands of nice people who are arrested for ransacking a store. And she does't have fake Indian heritage or an on-line $99 PhD degree.

From news reports, she was an advisor to Heels Up.
So, to recap she’s black (check), lesbian (check). and appropriately stupid (check).
Good fit. (Her domicile is irrelevant since individual states are being swallowed up and becoming irrelevant by Big Government.)

This is precisely what they want for everyone.

#8, there are a group of people who like to name their kids after objects or made-up phrases. Then there is a group of people who just name their kids a string of sounds that mean nothing.
I have talked to members of this group and they seemed surprised when I told them that virtually all names actually mean something. For instance, "Shaka" is a Zulu name meaning "power."

"Carpet Bagger"...
wasn't Pelosi part of the Baltimore Political machine as well?
And Kamlalala a Quebec voter?
Blacks make up about 12% of the US Population...Calif. makes up about 12% of the US Population.
Blacks only make up about 6.5% of the California population ...but still, of the 3.25% of Calif resident citizens that fit the rubric of Black/Female(approx 1.1 Million) NONE were/are qualified to be a Senator?
He had to recruit from out of state? And chose someone who has never held ANY elected office before?
Someone who has NEVER drawn a private sector paycheck...in fact every job was "union organizing" in trades/professions she did not work in, was not qualified to work in, did not ever even study the curriculum to have a job in.

The Newsom-base lefties are all mad anyway about this, because LaPhonza used to represent AirBnb and Uber and that's corporate and that's bad.
I'd laugh but this is a sideshow distraction, it's CA, a Dem will get that Senate seat in Nov 2024 no matter what.

I suspect the Gov is telling everyone that she was given the Senate seat on the condition that she would not run in 2024, and that all the contenders had to run for the seat in the next election. This keeps him from alienating a faction. Give him credit, not a bad move. Still won't vote for him if he runs, which I believe he will.

Wondering about the residency requirement, if it has been met.
Silly me, that would only be a consideration if it was a Republican.
What she offers is someone who will push the abortion issue across the country but from the seat of a U.S. Senator.
Sadly, many women in California probably still think it matter if they vote on the abortion issue despite them recently enacting an amendment enshrining abortion into the State Constitution.
Thus, it's a mute point for either side now since Republicans don't have anything close to a majority to change that status.
It should free-up voters to vote on the other issues affecting them.

Yes, most of us, well most of the remaining Americans living in this beautiful state, will object but it doesn't matter, the Dems completely run CA and they steal elections. Look at CA and you will see what the Dems want for the rest of the USA, a uniparty government controlled by the ruling elite. An elite that hates the declining majority WASP cohort and that is incompetent, corrupt, and amoral. It will take more than an election to roust them from power.

Where she resides does not mean anything, as she is a leftist and socialist Democrat who is sure to support and vote for the leftist and socialist Democrat political agenda. Clearly the power hungry Democrats would appoint Mickey Mouse and claim that he is eminently qualified as long as he somehow could cast votes for the Democrat political agenda. Now if the wimpy Republicans try to pull that trick it would certainly be another story with the leftist and socialist Democrats immediately commencing actions in Federal Courts to stop such an appointment.

Unconstitutional.
Three requirements to be a Senator in the Constitution.
1. Over 35 years of age.
2. American citizen for 9 years or more.
3. Resident of the state.
She does NOT qualify, and a lawsuit should be filed ASAP to block her appointment, or a Senator should block her admission to the Senate on Constitutional grounds.
Dems are such total horse's hind ends. None of them ever read the Constitution, I am sure.

Being that most United States senators support the District Cesspool swamp before their constituents from the states they were elected to represent as is, this doesn’t appear to be all too big a deal. It’s just now more out in the open and naked, and the media won’t mention it. Will the Californians object? Who knows?
