Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) says he is “concerned” about a decision to loosen the Senate’s dress code to allow senators to wear whatever they want on the chamber floor, arguing “we need to have standards.” Durbin, the No. 2-ranking Senate Democrat and chairman of the powerful Judiciary Committee, signaled he’s not ready to let hoodies, blue jeans or shorts become the norm on the Senate floor, which has been the venue of many important historic moments over the years. Surprisingly the WaPo has also knocked the dress code change for making the Senate look like a high school cafeteria.

The Republicans can sink this stupid rule change in about 5 minutes. All the Republicans need to wear MAGA caps, pro-life T-shirts, and gym shorts with "FJB" on one leg and "Let's Go Brandon" on the other!!!!! Make it the official Republican Senate uniform for one day. That is all it will take!!!!

Well, maybe Fetterman can't do the buttons on a dress shirt, tie a tie and also wants a hoodie to cover that bump in the back of his neck. Strokes can do funny things to a guy.

Schumer acts like changing the dress code is some sort of medical accommodation for Fetterman. Going from suits & ties to hoodies and gym short for someone who might have trouble buttoning their shirt is a bit much. He can still put on pants, a nice shirt, and a suit jacket. His wife can button his shirt. How about a clip on tie! Seems that Schumer is accommodating Fetterman's lifestyle choice, not his "condition".

London - One of Ukraine’s closest and most vocal allies has now said it will stop sending arms to Kyiv, a major reversal that threatens to upend Europe’s strategic relationship with the country as it wages a counteroffensive against Russia. Poland’s decision was both sudden and predictable, coming after months of tensions over a temporary ban on Ukrainian grain imports to a number of European Union countries. It also follows a pattern of increasingly confrontational behavior towards Kyiv from Poland’s government, just weeks before a tight general election. And it could have implications for Ukraine’s attempts to push Russian forces

Iran's parliament has passed a controversial bill that would increase prison terms and fines for women and girls who break its strict dress code. Those dressed "inappropriately" face up to 10 years in jail under the bill, for which a three-year "trial" was agreed. It still needs to be approved by the Guardian Council to become law. The move comes a year after protests erupted over the death in custody of Mahsa Amini, who was held by morality police for an allegedly improper hijab. It’s official: Democrats make everything worse. It was a sentiment long felt by many in the country, but after Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer’s (D-NY) recent decision to nix the Senate’s dress code and, in turn, obliterate the regard, respect, and dignity of the office, Schumer and the Democrats erased any doubt about ushering in societal rot and the nation’s decline. It’s an embarrassment, and every Democratic politician should be ashamed. And that includes Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA), believed to be the impetus for Schumer’s decision to eliminate the dress code. While party voters lined up behind Biden in 2020 and are poised to do so again, they have some misgivings about the president, who is 80 years old and would be 82 at the start of a potential second term in 2025. In an August survey conducted by The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research, 69% of Democrats indicated that Biden would be too old to be effective for another term. Climate change isn’t just creating havoc for the living. It’s coming for our dead. Great deluges of rain submerge graves and markers. Swift floods set vaults afloat. Slopes erode in scenic hillside cemeteries. And at the seaside, higher seas and storm surges swamp cemeteries and sweep sand away. For Sherene Johnson’s family, it’s the rain. Ten members of her family are buried in Brighton Memorial Gardens, a predominantly African American cemetery in Brighton, Alabama. Parts of the cemetery and the town have flooded in the past but not as often as they do today, said Johnson, a city councilwoman. The
