Senate Democratic Whip Dick Durbin (Ill.) says he is “concerned” about a decision to loosen the Senate’s dress code to allow senators to wear whatever they want on the chamber floor, arguing “we need to have standards.” Durbin, the No. 2-ranking Senate Democrat and chairman of the powerful Judiciary Committee, signaled he’s not ready to let hoodies, blue jeans or shorts become the norm on the Senate floor, which has been the venue of many important historic moments over the years. (Snip) Durbin acknowledged that changing the Senate’s dress code would accommodate his colleague, first-term Sen. John Fetterman (D-Pa.), who’s

The Republicans can sink this stupid rule change in about 5 minutes.
All the Republicans need to wear MAGA caps, pro-life T-shirts, and gym shorts with "FJB" on one leg and "Let's Go Brandon" on the other!!!!! Make it the official Republican Senate uniform for one day. That is all it will take!!!!

Well, maybe Fetterman can't do the buttons on a dress shirt, tie a tie and also wants a hoodie to cover that bump in the back of his neck.
Strokes can do funny things to a guy.

The House is way ahead of them by letting Ilhan Omar wear her towel on her head. When do the other House members get to wear baseball caps?

Schumer acts like changing the dress code is some sort of medical accommodation for Fetterman. Going from suits & ties to hoodies and gym short for someone who might have trouble buttoning their shirt is a bit much. He can still put on pants, a nice shirt, and a suit jacket. His wife can button his shirt. How about a clip on tie! Seems that Schumer is accommodating Fetterman's lifestyle choice, not his "condition".

They need to have committee meetings where the chairperson insists on business attire to attend. That will keep Joe stinting in his office and out of sight for most of the day.

Given the federal government, populism has replaced professionalism. Also, identity politics is very much connected to populism. . .

I'm surprised Scum Schumer didn't invoke the ADA's "reasonable accommodations" so Uncle Fester could dress himself in his Wal-Mart threads.

If they can't dress as a professional, they need their salaries reduced, and their lodging allowance reduced to that of a homeless shelter.

Yes! You need to have standards, and not only for a dress code!! There are other standards that have suffered or fallen through the years, but very severely so in recent years!

Immigration laws violations are no longer punished.
Theft up to $1000 in Kalifornia is no longer punished.
Rioting in the streets and burning buildings (as long as it is a Leftist riot) is no longer punished.
Ballot Stuffing and Election Fraud is no longer punished (as long as it is a Leftist doing the stuffing and fraud).
Monuments to the nation's founders are on the chopping block in large Democ'RATS-run cities.

It’s a scary feeling agreeing with Dick Durbin on
anything, but on this one subject, I totally agree. Fetterman and his potty mouth are a disgrace. He’s mentally a seventh grade boy.
