Colin Kaepernick writes letter offering

Seven years after he last took an NFL snap, Colin Kaepernick believes he can still help a team in need of a quarterback — even if it means playing on the practice squad. The former San Francisco 49ers signal-caller who exited the league in controversial fashion wrote a letter to the New York Jets last week requesting a chance to play quarterback for them, but with a twist. Rather than lobby for the Jets’ starting quarterback job with the team struggling in the wake of the season-ending injury to star Aaron Rodgers, Kaepernick asked for an opportunity to be the team’s practice squad quarterback. The Jets have three quarterbacks on their roster. The practice team doesn't need this professional racist, or the trouble he would bring. Nor do the Jets.

He wasn't that good a QB. Plus, who wants a player who bring controversy? What the Jets need most of all is an offensive line who if they can't block could at least slow them down. The OL is why Rodgers is out for the season and maybe a career.

I wish some NFL team (besides my beloved Packers) would sign Colin. We'd quickly remember why he's been out of the NFL for seven years. He wasn't that good when he left. If memory serves, he many have had one or maybe two good seasons with the 49ers and has been milking that ever since.

Maybe he was semi-talented about 6 or 7 years ago. But he is now a washed up old racist trouble-maker. Plenty of younger and much more talented QB's have come along in the interim. And they just want to play football, not alienate 99% of their fan base by saying and doing racist and illogical things on a daily basis. So that would be a big fat no!!!! But thanks for asking!!!

Kaepernick had a tryout for backup QB job with Seattle Seahawks in 2017. He was not signed. Head coach Pete Carroll said, Kaepernick is not a backup, “he’s a starter in this league.” In June 2020, Carroll said that he regretted not signing Kaepernick in 2017; however for the 2020 season, he would not be signing him and was happy with Geno Smith as the team's backup quarterback. Pete Carroll is a liar. His comments about Kaepernick were virtue signals.

Bruce Thornton and others have usefully dubbed it “scientism”: “Dressing up ideological beliefs or even fads in the quantitative data and forbidding jargon of real sciences like physics or engineering.” It allows progressives who actually know and care nothing about science to boast that they “believe in science” or “follow the science” whereas their reactionary opponents, presumably, do not. For some years now, the premier prophet of scientism in America has been Neil DeGrasse Tyson, who since 1996 has been the director of the Hayden Planetarium in New York, and who, like his fellow astrophysicist Carl Sagan before him, has won fame as a promoter and popularizer of science.
