Seven years after he last took an NFL snap, Colin Kaepernick believes he can still help a team in need of a quarterback — even if it means playing on the practice squad.
The former San Francisco 49ers signal-caller who exited the league in controversial fashion wrote a letter to the New York Jets last week requesting a chance to play quarterback for them, but with a twist.
Rather than lobby for the Jets’ starting quarterback job with the team struggling in the wake of the season-ending injury to star Aaron Rodgers, Kaepernick asked for an opportunity to be the team’s practice squad quarterback.

The Jets have three quarterbacks on their roster. The practice team doesn't need this professional racist, or the trouble he would bring. Nor do the Jets.

So he wants to go back being a slave (his word for being in the NFL). I could use his ass to be my footstool for every game.

He wasn't that good a QB. Plus, who wants a player who bring controversy? What the Jets need most of all is an offensive line who if they can't block could at least slow them down. The OL is why Rodgers is out for the season and maybe a career.

The Jets can get almost any QB, and they would be a lot better than this fat chump!

Now this is very strange. Didn't Colon Kaepernick write a book calling the NFL the National Slavery League? Why would he beg a NSL team to make him a slave again?

If I wrote a letter like it, my letter would get fewer laughs and the same treatment.....right to the trash.

We'll get this news repeatedly for the rest of our lives. He just wants to keep his name in the news (which becomes his capital in the marketing sponsorship game), and the woke media want an excuse to remind everybody about him.

I wish some NFL team (besides my beloved Packers) would sign Colin.
We'd quickly remember why he's been out of the NFL for seven years. He wasn't that good when he left. If memory serves, he many have had one or maybe two good seasons with the 49ers and has been milking that ever since.

Maybe he was semi-talented about 6 or 7 years ago. But he is now a washed up old racist trouble-maker.
Plenty of younger and much more talented QB's have come along in the interim. And they just want to play football, not alienate 99% of their fan base by saying and doing racist and illogical things on a daily basis.
So that would be a big fat no!!!! But thanks for asking!!!

Kaepernick had a tryout for backup QB job with Seattle Seahawks in 2017. He was not signed. Head coach Pete Carroll said, Kaepernick is not a backup, “he’s a starter in this league.” In June 2020, Carroll said that he regretted not signing Kaepernick in 2017; however for the 2020 season, he would not be signing him and was happy with Geno Smith as the team's backup quarterback.
Pete Carroll is a liar. His comments about Kaepernick were virtue signals.

Colin Kaepernick will never play football again. He hasn't played in years and he was horrible when he did play. Kaepernick would be a clown show and no team will want anything to do with him.

Sample replay letter to Kap:
Dear Colin
The NFL is in the Entertainment business.
In this business, the objective is to attract and hold an audience.
Your past insults, general unpleasant conduct and poor reputation make you unsuitable for the above purpose.
Good luck on your next endeavor, outside of the NFL.

Sign him onto the practice squad. Instruct the offensive line not to block. Signal the defense to blitz. Repeat as needed.

Ask him to name his price to join the team; and then ask how much to not join.
