Over-hyped headline by Daily Mail. This storm was weakened significantly in the last 24 hours. I seriously doubt LA saw those kinds of winds.

I don't know about anyone else but I think most of this scary weather is made up hype so the climate hoaxers can point the finger and say "see, we told you." We've had ten inches of rain on many a summer day and strong winds of 60mph or more occur regularly in the spring and fall. And I don't believe the day after day of over 100 degrees we are suddenly having. It's all to push their agenda.

All the footage is "shocking". Looks like a lot of rain, although by most standards, 2 inches isn't huge. We got three inches here a month and a half ago. It mostly has to do with the normally dry desert area which doesn't often deal with what is for most places a fairly common rainfall level. Desert areas are obviously normally dry, so they often don't have the same drainage and related infrastructure as other places where it is more common. And I've seen photos of the LA River like that before, and this is exactly WHY it is there, and built with the stabilizing concrete liners on bottom and sides. Because it is periodically absolutely needed, even though it isn't every month, or even every year. Hope people do well, but any time the weather is unusual, stuff gets messed up. And some people plan well for unusual weather, and others don't.

Reminds me of 1992. Live in Louisiana. The state was in for really the worst storm ever. And predictions were way off as to where it was coming ashore.. Nat. news media kept saying storm was headed for NOLA. Watching the local weather predictors, it wasn't going to NOLA. It was headed for the coast between New Iberia and Morgan City. Dan Rather even showed up, I believe to show the nation what kind of low life lived around here. He camped out in a decrepit bar in New Iberia, with his TV crew. So here comes Andrew. My house was moving back and forth. Live in a one story brick house. The sound of the hurricane was horrible. So to make a short story much longer. I sympathize with those in CA that will suffer floods and mudslides. May they know that the media is manure with predictions. Please don't diminish the problems CA will have. In some places destruction will be bad. Newsies are creeps..

Agree that this is just being hyped by the climate nut cases. A couple of weeks ago there was going to be a devastating storm in the DC area which they said would cause massive damage. The Federal Government closed early and sent everyone home as did many businesses. I have family who live north and west of DC and most of DC’s weather hits them first. The day after the storm I texted one of them and asked about the damage - there was none. It was just a “regular storm” which they get all the time in summer.

In the RealClearPolitics poll of national GOP primary polls, former President Donald Trump is 40.9 points ahead of second place. What’s more, nationally, Trump sits well over the magic halfway mark with 55.8 percent support. Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-FL) is waaaaaayyy behind in second place with 14.9 percent support. The rest are in single digits. Only a madman who’s up 41 points would risk that lead by participating in a debate with a half-dozen other candidates who—I’m sorry, but this is true—do not matter.
