WASHINGTON – Republican National Committee Chair Ronna McDaniel on Sunday advised 2024 candidates to focus on Independent voters after the GOP failed to deliver a once-expected “red wave” in the 2022 midterm elections. “I look at 2022 as the ‘Year of Independents,'” McDaniel told Fox News’ Sunday Morning Futures. “In every single battleground state except Pennsylvania, a Republican won statewide – so we had more ticket splitting than we’ve ever seen.” “So [in 2024], it really is going to be how do our candidates appeal to Independent voters?”

Ronna RINO is a perfect example of why I don't contribute to her Republican Party. They're not trustworthy, and need to find another line of work.

I think a new party might be in order. The MAGA party will do. The GOP will go left or join Trump. This is how you change America.

Ronna, dearie, Republicans need to grow a pair and a spine on which to hang them. Time for a new party - The Patriot Party.

Whatever one may think of McDaniel, she happens to be right. Without a hefty share of the "independent" vote - the Suzy Sunshines, the chardonnay drinkers, the guilt-ridden men - we will lose. It is a matter of arithmetic, not ideology. So where does OP get "reach across the aisle" out of that?
If we are to have a chance in '24 (and a loss will ensure the demise of the republic) we will need a fresh face who is a smart politician, not a well-known quantity who seems to have no interest is expanding his appeal beyond his hard-core base.
Donald Trump is a great man who will have a special place in history, if there are any honest people left to write a truthful account. Of course I will vote for him (for a third time) if he is nominated. But his time has passed. We need to focus on saving what is left of the republic and not marinate in old grievances for which the average voter cares not a whit. DeSabtis in 2024.

No, Ronna !! The candidates must appeal to the GOP base. So far, they are all failing.

This is the same stupid strategy they whine at us every time, and we lose at least half the time. Sometimes we lose because of blatant fraud and they refuse to fight it.
Maybe they should try something unique, like fighting for the Constitution and the citizens. Then they can climb back under their desks and continue to quiver.

Exactly # 14. I think there are shills from the Left encouraging a MAGA Party to split off of the GOP.

The Republican candidates need to explain why Democrat policies do not work, and then tell the people what they are going to do and why it will work.

There was no ticket splitting. The Dems just only stole votes for Brandon, ahem Biden. They were too lazy to figure who the candidates were.

I heard Ronna say today that they have lawyers lined up in every precinct and county. She also said this in 2020, but we never heard a peep from any of them. Ronna does nothing, and her opinions are her own, not shared by very many Republican voters.

Why would I suddenly start to believe anything Ronna McDaniel says? It isn't like she knows anything that wasn't already set up by other chairmen of RNC. Just doing the same thing year after year; getting the same results, likewise.

I would also suggest since the Independent party is legal in all states at the moment and already exists, why don't we just register as republican independent and Trump can run on that party. Easier than building a new party from scratch.

I always reflect on Rush Limbaugh’s opinion of the anointed independents. He was right. Do you think democrats sit around fretting about appealing to independents?

It’s because of the GOP establishment functioning the way it is, the way #14 and Ronna want, is precisely why we are so very close to permanent leftist rule now.

Many Independents, including myself, are former Republicans who gave up on your squishy party but will be voting for Donald Trump in spite of what you say. Still, you continue to annoy us by begging for our money.

Does anyone here except for 49 Ford think the Dems worry about reaching Republicans and/or Independents top get their votes? They don't need to because as of 2020 , they have shown they can steal elections and get away with it on a national scale. Dems don't worry about being liked when they have so many brain dead supporters but Republicans are always worried about being liked and not being called names. Screw that and just go out there and defend proven polices (under Trump) that worked and will work again.

Independent and "undecided" swing voters are highly valued voters, but when it is the Republic based on the Rule of Law and the Constitution and the other side supports knee capping those who would not support a handful of socialists taking away everything from them, the choices should be obvious to an "un decided " swing voter.
What a grasp of an elementary idea-- she should have been replaced by talking down gibberish like this--

Ronna is a brilliant political strategist. To be successful - - the Pubbies need to reach across the aisle - - and even adopt some of the demonrat policies. That way no one will be mad at them - - and they'll get all the moderate votes. It must be the Romney genes - - which make her so smart.
