Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo, considered a rising star among Texas Democrats, will temporarily leave her post leading the state’s most populous county to receive treatment for clinical depression, she announced Monday.
Hidalgo said she was diagnosed with the condition in July and checked into an out-of-state facility to undergo treatment late last month. She aims to return to work in early September.
“From the beginning of my tenure as County Judge, I have stressed the importance of mental health services,” Hidalgo wrote in a letter Monday afternoon to Harris County residents. “Depression and other mental health illnesses are part of the human condition, and mental health illnesses

While I hope her treatment is successful, I would be remiss to mention that the good people of Harris County, Texas, have been depressed over her administration of their county.

The sooner she is not County Judge, the better. What she did to Harris County during covid is unforgivable.

I know people were joking but it’s true “liberals are more prone to mental health disorders than individuals who identify as conservative or moderates, according to a Pew Research Center survey”.

Stress is getting to her as the trials start over the election fraud she helped with. She can't testify if she is mentally ill.

She checked into an out-of-state facility for treatment. Why not a facility in the Medical Center, Houston or Texas? Not exactly open with this, is she?Dems thought they could hide this and not waste all the effort to groom her for a statewide office.

Unfortunately, when you say Lina Hidalgo, I am immediately suspicious. I suspect big money is helping her take a vacation at a spa like facility somewhere very expensive. This must be part of a political plan. It always is with her and her cronies.

So if they cure her of her mental illness, will she come back a conservative?

If all depressed democrats who need treatment actually sought it out, the country would not find enough psychiatrists. Fortunately they seek other means of relief like screaming in the streets, accusing conservatives of conspiracy, homophobia and racism and howling at the moon.

Who wants to bet they'd have stated where that out-of-state facility was located?
Wondering if that state just happens to be Hawaii, or some nice vacation place where she can get out of the heat of summer in Houston.

Not to make light of her seeking treatment for mental health issues, she seems to be taking a break away from all the corruption that is being exposed about election irregularities of the 2022 election which is bubbling up to a head in Harris County.
Even worse, the Houston Independent School District leadership has been taken over by the Texas Education Agency due to overall District low-performing schools not meeting minimum Texas state standards for several years...
I pray she gets the treatment she needs to face the work she is supposed to be doing.
The HISD is running advertisements trying to poach teachers from other successful school districts in Texas in an effort to improve the situation for students in the school district.
