GOP presidential candidate Ron DeSantis torched Donald Trump over the former president’s refusal to sign the Republican National Committee’s pledge of supporting the eventual party nominee in 2024.
DeSantis spoke to reporters in Iowa, where he slammed Trump for refusing to sign the RNC pledge. The Florida governor noted that he had signed the pledge — being one of the first to do so — and jammed Trump for suggesting he may not support the eventual nominee.
“I mean, you can’t, on the one hand, say that the country’s going in such a bad direction, which we all believe, and then, on the other hand, say you’re just going to take your

Does DeSantis not understand what a disaster he's made of his bid for president? He's already in a hole, why does he keep digging?

Has anyone ask the RNC McRomney gal... "who died and made you God?" I was under the impression the Republican party was the party of... how do I say it... FREEDOM??? This isn't kindergarten, Lady... politics is hardball and rural America didn't elect YOU to tell Donald Trump he MUST sign a pledge to support Chris Christie for anything... freedom, fellow conservative republicans, where can we go to find it anymore?

None of the others will support Trump if/when he gets the nomination. Why should he do what they will NOT do?

Ronnnn!, - let's not be trite about this whole debate thing, you once were and now you're not, so just accept that you will not be in the race in November, 2024 because you don't have what our President has, a faithful populace who love him because he's gained that love through, what's the campaign slogan: "Promises Made, Promises Kept"?, plus ...... he's already got romney mcdaniel all figured out and that incenses the "insiders" of the party to unbelievable levels of vitriol and you sound just like them so, stop the hootin' and hollerin' and get to work governing Florida

Why does nobody remind the RNC that when all the 15 or 16 Republicans were asked this juvenile question back in the 2016 debates, a good number of them lied. They said yes and then never supported Trump at all when he won!

I find this so entertaining.
Trump honestly says he won’t sign this “pledge,” (a “pledge,” in American politics c. now— right) …because he frankly cannot say that among the GOP field of candidates he’s 100% sure of them all— and this DeSantis guy for all his solid credentials and great state governance blasts Trump for it.
Evidently the governor is not seeing that an average American would consider Trump’s stance basic common sense.
This is a guy so saturated with the unreal essence of politics that he fails to see that in the practical world no one would take a blind pledge like that.
Only in the swamp, for purely political purposes, would anyone think it’s a good move.
Guy just doesn’t get it.
Makes Trump—to me, for all his flaws— more rather than less appealing; and his “crimes,” which Mueller and $40-million and two years failed to articulate— even more inconsequential.
The Obama administration and the Clintons’ before it, and the years following Obama— with Pelosi, and Schumer, and Swalwell, and Schiff— have revealed the utterly bottomless corruption of the American political establishment, at least on the federal level, and nothing that’s been reported on Trump’s bad conduct even comes close.
And fantastic as it sounds, every day reveals more of the Obama-Biden administrations’ perfidy.
DeSantis is the establishment.

Ronnie is excitedly raising his hand and shouting, Look at me, look at me, I can’t wait to sign to your pledge, Ronna. I really, really like doing whatever you elites suggest.
Clearly the GOPe believe that the Uniparty will take Trump out by lawfare and they want him to then endorse the winner of the Republican primary. They know they cannot win without Trump’s base and by this asinine pledge will get it. No way that is going to happen. We have been manipulated, lied to and abandoned by these Rinos and frankly, we are fed up. When it could have mattered they scattered after the 2020 fraudulent election and been AWOL ever since. They refused to support anyone who dared to speak the truth about the election. So I am done with these lowlifes. If they believe that Trump’s base is that stupid, they are fooling themselves. We know who has our back and it is not Ronna McDanial and the rest of the traitorous elites. Forced participation in this pledge is juvenile and wreaks of desperation. Sorry, Ronna you have been and continue to be a disaster. You have done nothing to secure the vote because you are an agent of the Uniparty/Deep State.

Even if he doesn't sign I'm sure he will support whoever goes up against whatever the DNC candidate is, if they somehow jail or keep Trump out some way. One exception would be if Chris Christy was against RFK Jr.

Trump is so far ahead in this race that he could break both legs and still breeze over the finish line. He knows that if he doesn't win it will be because of cheating or other criminal activity by dems, Rinos or both. You don't acknowledge that kind of competition.

I thought DeSantis was smarter than his actions have proven him to be. Unless he somehow pulls a hail Mary, he is toast. If he had supported Trump, while taking care of Florida and sat out of this election, he would have had Trump supporters willing to back him in 2028. I guess self importance is the Achilles' Heel of politicians.

At first I was bewildered by DeSantis Behavior. A good governor and an obviously intelligent man. But after watching his actions for a while it occurred to me the major problem is, he thinks his base is full of morons. It's very disappointing he could have been a contender!

The country is in a bad state so why support a candidate who cannot and will not improve it.
We really have not seen the Democrat candidate yet, They keep shoving Biden but we all know he will not be the candidate
He is already a babbling fool and in another year he will a total vegetable.
The democrats have to unload him sooner or later, we don't really know who the Democrats candidate will be, but it's pretty certain it will be a "woke".I cannot even think of one democrat I could support, but it's going to be tough for me to support any Republican that is running other than Trump. DeSantis has defecated in his mess kit for me.

I had a very favorable opinion of Gov. DeSantis, but over the past couple of weeks that has morphed to loathing. For example, I would not support Christie or Mitt Romney in the extremely unlikely event either is the nominee. Why should Trump?

i like de santis, but this is hypocrisy. can we have Ronna's views on McConnell's non support of Trump? All the terrible appointments that could not be remedied bc the Senate would not take them up, nor go out of session so Trump could do it himself. the GOP later complaining about his rotten appointments, while well aware exactly why he could fix them and the answer was themselves. how is that for loyalty Ronna?

What is a politicians promise really worth anyway? If you know someone is a liar, what good does it do to demand a promise from him? And if they all do back the eventual winner, why would we believe them when the promise was forced? Its a stupid requirement.

Gonzalez’s headline writer doesn’t even know what he’s writing. Prolly thought it sounded woke or cool. Urban Dictionary would just say he’s all wrong:
Put on blast:
to put someones secrets and personal business in the spotlight without them being willing.

From American Thinker:
Trump argued that his declination, which would mean no debate, was "not a question of guts," but of "intelligence," and he's absolutely right. Trump is an author, and his books include numerous references to famous works of Western literature, which means he's well versed in classic authors. He's likely heard the quote often attributed to George Bernard Shaw about tussling with swine: "Never wrestle with a pig. You both get dirty, and the pig likes it." A double-entendre for the ages! McDaniel, in particular, is cozy in the sty and at the trough of establishment politics.
But I'd also argue Trump's move is a matter of principle, and seemingly, so does he. From a Florida outlet:
'Why would I sign it?' Trump said in an interview on the conservative cable network Newsmax. 'I can name three or four people that I wouldn't support for president. So right there, there's a problem.’

What has happened to the RNC? Have they always been this bad, the opposite of the people's choice? Is Ronna McDaniel just a symptom of today's Swamp or has the curtains been pulled back and we are seeing the rottenness that has always been in the National Republican Committee and the Republican Party? I was in College during the Reagan years, so did I miss something about the Republican party? Did President Reagan fight the RNC like President Trump is having to do? Has the party always been this bad? I really want to know.
