Donald Trump won't kiss the ring and sign
Ronna McDaniel's 'loyalty' pledge

Ronna McDaniel saw the writing on the wall — Donald Trump, the most popular Republican candidate in history (by far), refuses to quit in spite of the endless legal and political witch hunts — and something had to be done. So Mitt Romney's niece threw a hail Mary, and back in February, McDaniel mulled the idea of a "loyalty pledge" before promptly instituting it. Here's what she had to say at the time about the tactic, during a chummy conversation with CNN's Dana Bash, via Politico:

Instead of fixing fraudulent elections, impeaching crooked presidents and attorney generals, let's come up with a loyalty pledge. Yeah that will show everyone that we're doing our job.

Good for him. A forced loyalty pledge is a lot like a forced apology. All it means is the one doing it is weak and pliable.

Ronna McDaniel is the reason I will never again give to the RNC. Not one dime. Ever. And it would not surprise me to learn that she takes from the DNC as well as her published mailing lists. Trump did the right thing to refuse. He doesn't need to debate anyone.

It really stung when Donald Trump threw his support to Ronna McDaniel. I think the RNC needs some type of renewal and "going along to get along" provided no stability or definition. I do not understand why he won't sign it. It makes me curious who he voted for before 2016. Did he vote for Barack Obama rather than John McCain or Mitt Romney?

Time for a new party. We can't enough people to stop supporting the RNC, so the fact that Ronna is still there is on us. Most of us know she's a traitor, but we won't/can't/don't drag/vote her out of the position. She keeps stabbing us in the back, and she and her friends make a whole lot of money. It's all a game to them.

I have an additional comment. So what if it is Chris Christie or Mike Pence or whoever. Did Jeb Bush vote for Donald Trump in 2016? I sure hope so; otherwise, he would be a sore loser. Well, it needs to be the same way with Donald Trump if he is not the nominee. If he wouldn't support the will of the people's choice of who the nominee is, then I guess he will have to vote for Joe Biden.

Olivia Murray is apparently ignorant of the Republican National Committee structure. Ronna is the chair, not a dictator. The RNC is made up of two committee members elected from each state plus each state's GOP chair. The loyalty pledge does not belong to Ronna. It belongs to the party and Republicans are weary of the divisiveness post primary. Ronna is the spokesperson and it's good for the Republican party to appear in every media venue, no matter how hostile. I would have preferred Hermeet, but we have who we have. President Trump is wrong to skip the primary at a time when we need to get people engaged in the 2024 election. He can't win the general with his faithful followers alone. He's a master at handling critics and has the opportunity to demonstrate that skill with the other candidates. If you haven't figured this out by now, the Democrats are the masters of walking in lock step. They will have a united front and we'd better figure out how to motivate every armchair critic in the country that spends as much time criticizing Republicans as Democrats to get to the polls. We need enough real life voters to overcome the certain fraud attempts and this blame game against the Republicans is not helping.

Ronna McDaniel is surely no Don Corelone. Corleone was a strategist, smart, a thinker and most importantly, knew good food. No one needed to kiss anything since he was The One. He knew it, everyone else knew it and he didn't have to play games. He just had his enemies whacked! If McDaniel had an ounce of smarts in that rotund body she would lead by example and defend Trump against these persecution prosecutions. The pursuit of Trump is clearly election interference not just against Trump, but against the party she gets paid to represent. She and every other Republican candidate can defend Trump against these prosecutions without having to endorse his candidacy for president. One thing has absolutely nothing to do with the other. It would be a powerful sight for every Republican candidate and the entire Republican party to have a strong backbone and defend Trump, really our country, against these sham prosecutions and the defiling of our justice system. This evil, metastasizing democrat election playbook must be crushed. Failing to defend against it, will embolden even further the corrupt democrat and deep state and these vile corrupt prosecutions will become the norm for the party in power. Since republicans rarely fight back, a la Don Corleone, then democrats will always be in power. McDaniel is an embarrassment. Like her uncle, Pierre DeLecto, she is a corrupt weasel who will sell out her friends, party and country to keep her status so she can continue to get, TV exposure on CNN and MSNBC and, oh yes, unlimited donuts and face lifts. (meow).

Unlike the dems, we don't place party above country. Paul Ryan called himself a Republican; if he were to run, would we have to commit to support him? I wouldn't. President Trump is basically saying outright that he won't support Christie or Pence if they were to win. I wouldn't either. I wouldn't vote for Biden, I'd vote for President Trump as a write-in.

The naturally uneasy relationship between our government and religion has existed since our founding. The founders recognized both the importance of religious morality to the government and the necessity of keeping religious institutions separate from the state. America was run on those principles for a very long time but those days are over, which operates to our detriment. After 1791, the American people were no longer under the godlike moral authority of a sovereign king and his dictates, for the framers had created a separate government with its sovereign authority vested in its people. However, the people had the responsibility to maintain morality learned mostly from their religious practice and education.

It’s the economy, stupid. For decades, that’s been seen as a sound political strategy behind every effective presidential campaign. Focus on the economy and people’s pocketbooks — and get some good luck in terms of how the economy is actually running when you run for office — and voila: You get elected to the White House, and you win reelection. The question a growing number of Democrats are asking, however, is whether that’s still the case, as President Biden deals with stronger economic numbers but low approval ratings.

It is sometimes said that the prosecutions of former President Donald Trump are "backfiring" on Democrats. That is, instead of lowering Trump's political support, they are raising it. That is indeed happening among Republicans and some independents. But many Democrats still hope the cumulative weight of multiple indictments -- there will soon be four, when the Georgia case is added to the New York case and the two federal cases -- will make it impossible for Trump to win the general election.
