Luxury car brand Porsche is facing criticism after the company released an advertisement celebrating 60 years of the Porsche 911 that apparently edited out the Cristo Rei – a statue of Jesus Christ that overlooks the city of Lisbon, Portugal. (snip) About 44 seconds into a version of the video posted on the company’s website, a Porsche 911 drives across the screen against the backdrop of the bridge and river that the Cristo Rei overlooks, but the 92-feet-tall statue of Jesus was absent from atop the concrete 269-feet-tall concrete pedestal that remains visible across the river.

Not smart. I wonder if this is some ad agency drone making a choice rather than the company?

Jokes aside, if there is any doubt that at the center of this social reorder, it is the removal of God from our lives. Maybe you aren't religious, but this should be disconcerting. This is a global war on God and his followers.

Bad News for Left-Wing Hollywood — Cable
Viewership Hit Record Low

For the first time in history, overall viewership of cable TV dropped below 30 percent in July. (snip) For going on 40 years, cable-satellite TV has been the one-legged stool keeping Hollywood in business. Instead of Americans paying to view something specific, we were paying $150 a month for a giant package of entertainment we never watched. And because we paid for and subsidized channels we never watched through our cable bill, Hollywood could afford to keep basement-rated, left-wing propaganda networks like CNN, the Disney Channel, the Comedy Channel, MTV, etc., operational. You might not watch those outlets but you fund them if you pay for cable TV.

Everybody in the family got an equal share, including Michael. It was about $14,000, each.” Tuohy sold his conglomerate of fast-food franchises for $200 million and took affront to the idea that he would want to profit off of Oher.

A federal appeals court ruled 3-0 Tuesday that Washington D.C. “selectively” used a defacement statute to arrest pro-life activists for chalking a message on the sidewalk while permitting Black Lives Matter (BLM) protestors to mark property without consequences. During the summer of 2020, at the same time thousands of BLM protestors were taking to the streets of Washington, D.C. and covering public spaces with paint and chalk, two pro-life activists were arrested for chalking the words “Black Pre-Born Lives Matter”on a public sidewalk.

If you read nothing else this week, read Victor Davis Hanson’s article in American Greatness detailing how Obama began “the most radical revolutions” in our history. As legal matters -- the lawfare waged against former President Trump and the Department of Justice’s pussyfooting around the Biden bribery took this week’s center stage, it’s useful to note his remarks on the weaponization of justice in this country. Here’s a sample: Administrations and their efforts to stock the justice department with supporters come and go. But in the last decade the Left has viewed the Department of Justice as a political extension of the party -

US Rep. Cori Bush pocketed $15,000 for teaching a university summer course on reparations, according to her financial disclosure report. The Missouri congresswoman — and longtime champion of offering cash payments to black Americans as compensation for slavery — earned the dough from George Mason University for co-teaching the class “The Public Pedagogy of Truth and Reparations.” The course is expected to focus on “truth telling processes” as well as “state sponsored violence against African Americans and other targeted groups,” the school said in a news release. Bush is a member of the Squad — a loose alignment of far left House members led by Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Queens).

It’s been a week since wildfires on Maui ravaged the island and sent residents streaming into the ocean to avoid the flames. So far, Joe Biden has “no comment” about the casualties and, presumably, he has nothing to say about the massive relief efforts that are surely underway. But are they underway? According to the Wall Street Journal, “State and federal aid is trickling into the region in the wake of the deadliest U.S. wildfire event in over 100 years.” So after a full week, aid is just “trickling in” from FEMA to deal with the destruction of most of the Western part of Maui?
