How in God's name are the Democrats still
losing — even after Jan. 6 hearings
and Roe?

Original Article

It's going to be a long, hot summer — and I'm not just talking about the weather. Take a handful of hallucinogens, sedatives and edibles, wash them down with a healthy amount of your favorite liquor during a backyard barbecue with people you love, some you barely know and others you can't stand, and you'll approximate the political climate in the United States today on the eve of the midterm elections. The summer of 2022 is hot and furious. We are dealing with a world literally on fire due to climate change.

Comments:

Read on for a good laugh. This rant must be seen to be believed. A look behind the curtain into the demented minds of leftists. The Republicans are hemorrhaging voters. The Jan 6 Committee has presented clear and convincing, factual evidence of a coup attempt orchestrated by Donald Trump. And the moon is made of green cheese. I made that last one up, but it's more reasonable than most anything that appears in this woefully out of touch column.

The author starts the article with "Take a handful of hallucinogens, sedatives and edibles, wash them down with a healthy amount of your favorite liquor." I think that probably the only thing in the article that actually explains their thinking processes.

Just like the OP I was drawn in by the first paragraph and its' sick and outrageous lies that certain simpletons take as truth, just like a moth to a flame. Spoiler alert, the article's contents do not get any smarter or stray anywhere near the truth. Liberalism is a disease for which there will never be a vaccine other than a piece of speeding lead.

Some of what he says is ok, even funny. Particularly the passage from Blazzing Saddles. But he misses the point when he speaks of republicans. In particular, trump republicans. He believes they don't stand for anything but rage. That other than that, they are hollow. I think that conclusion is more what he hopes is true, and not what actually is true. Trump republicans stand against the deep state, the uni-party, the parties of the elites. Trump republicans are populists and nationalists, not globalists. They are also federalists and believe power should return to the states. That's hardly hollow.

Clearly it hasn’t occurred to the author, although it should, that he is hopelessly enthralled by his prejudices. Here, in Brian Kasem, is a man who has no intellectual curiosity and as a result not only doesn’t know what he’s talking about but hasn’t even tried to learn. The Republicans and Conservatives of whom he speaks with such derision don’t see themselves in the adjectives he uses. Perhaps he is guilty of projection but, in any case, he lacks wisdom and is, therefore, a waste of time.

"The Roe v. Wade debacle threatens to produce a galvanized voting bloc of women from across the socioeconomic spectrum that could make such an outcome possible." Only problem with this analysis is that, according to that radical alt right conservative polling agency Gallup, 65% of women self identify as pro life. As does The IPSOS polls which reports that 67% of the general population does as well. and this, after extolling the virtue and unbiased Jan 6 hearings as the height of enlightened fairness and truth. "If the Democrats can learn from the hearings and apply those lessons in messaging" He admits the truth, they were simply a democrat political messaging excercise. What a maroon. He is right on one point though, overturning Roe has energized 85% of the 13% of the electorate that identifies as both Democrat and female. And with the majority of those democrat women being between 18 and 30 they can expect at least about 6% of the population to vote D, which they would have anyway. And a note on voter apathy/ A european friend once said to me that 30 to 40 percent turnout in elections was shameful. I argued that 30% turnout if representative is fine. Apathy is not dangerous. I would rather the 30% who were involved, informed and motivated decide elections. I told him that if we ever see voter turnout in the 60 to 80 percent range all it would mean is that we as a nation are in great trouble and that uninformed and emotional voters are literally being driven to the polls by a feeling that something is very wrong in their lives and that it is the governments fault. Angry and scared voters are very dangerous. Apathy is our natural state and if life is good and the trains run on time we are a happy content people. If something happens that shakes that apathy and turns it to anger or fear, well, all that means is something terroble is happening in our nation.

Now that Donald Trump has been indicted for using lies about the 2020 presidential election to seek to overturn its results, it’s become a matter of grave national concern that big majorities of Republicans apparently don’t think he was lying at all. A new CNN survey shows that 69 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents do not believe “Joe Biden legitimately won enough votes to win the presidency” in 2020. It’s worth asking what if anything might have convinced them to believe Biden’s win was legitimate, if only to establish what could happen differently in 2024 to avoid another contested Democratic win — if not an attack on the Capitol.

When Joe Biden tapped Kamala Harris to be his running mate in 2020, it was perhaps the most easily predicted vice presidential choice in recent memory. Biden had made it clear that after emerging from the most diverse Democratic presidential candidate field in history, he would select a woman to join him on the ticket. The dynamics of the Democratic Party, which relies heavily on the votes of African American women to win elections, made it seem likely that Biden would select a running mate from this demographic group, especially as the murder of George Floyd brought race issues to the top of the public agenda.

There is a reason Donald Trump seems so desperate to hang on to his position as president of the United States. Over the weekend he reportedly talked with attorney Sidney Powell and former National Security Adviser Michael Flynn about trying to impose martial law in states he lost in order to hold new elections in the hopes that he could remain president. (Fortunately, the U.S. Army issued a statement publicly challenging the commander-in-chief.) The reason for Trump’s seemingly erratic behavior is obvious, at least to us: Donald Trump knows that he may be arrested not long after Joe Biden is sworn in at about noon on Jan. 20, 2021.
