What NASA and the European Space Agency

Bumped from Sunday: The current heat wave is being relentlessly blamed on increasing levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere, but there is a much more plausible explanation, one that is virtually endorsed by two of the world's leading scientific organizations. It turns out that levels of water vapor in the atmosphere have dramatically increased over the last year and a half, and water vapor is well recognized as a greenhouse gas, whose heightened presence leads to higher temperatures, a mechanism that dwarfs any effect CO2 may have. So why has atmospheric water vapor increased so dramatically?

"The effect would dissipate when the extra water vapor cycles out of the stratosphere"...such as via the several months of "Atmospheric Rivers" inundation of California and other areas with record setting rains and snow events. Floods all across the country, in desert areas, mountain areas, the plains, major cities, even NY and DC.

FTA: ~~ "Jeff Childers, who brought these scientific data to my notice, writes: Here's why corporate media is ignoring the most dramatic climate even[t] in modern history: because you can't legislate underwater volcanoes. You can try, but they won't listen. So what's the fun in that? Corporate media only exists to further political ends. Since volcanoes aren't subject to politics, why bother? He brings up the work of Ethical Skeptic: Ethical is suggesting that the water is heating the air — instead of the other way around. And the Earth's core is heating the water. It's a theory that explains everything. Meanwhile, "science" is baffled. From just a month ago, in mid-June: not the atmospheric CO2 theory of global warming, nor the effect of the largest ever known undersea volcanic eruption — is scientifically proven. See? But though scientists are baffled, corporate media and its repulsive allies are busily blaming ocean warming on carbon dioxide — a ludicrous notion. I am the first to admit that none of this —not the atmospheric CO2 theory of global warming, nor the effect of the largest ever known undersea volcanic eruption — is scientifically proven.

They don't need facts for this. I think they just make up numbers. And information on our local weather channel shows more 100 degree days last year and I remember years when there were a lot more. This is summer. It's hot. That's all it is.

Hard facts: A single volcano can do in a week about 100 times what the entire human race does over a 10 year period. Human activities have no impact on the global climate. Truth.

If you ask the question “Which is the most abundant greenhouse gas in the world?” Almost all will answer - CO2. But answer is water vapor. Not only that CO2’s power to block heat in inversely and logarithmically proportional to its percentage. The overall effect of 300ppm is the same as 3000ppm which it was at the time of dinasours. It’s true. Look it up. Water vapor molecules don’t have that effect.

Look up the eruption of the Hunga Tonga volcano in 2022. It expelled 2.4 cubic miles of debris into the atmosphere. Scientists believe it will be affecting our climate for five years.

Good. Perhaps our winters will be a little warmer and little less snow. We in the mid-Atlantic area had no snow last winter. In fact, I can't recall even seeing any snow flakes. The temperatures were warmer as well. It was my kind of winter. A few more winters like that are just fine with me. Not having to shovel snow, scrape my windshield of ice, and get my car covered with road salt makes my life much more pleasant.

See also: US credit rating sinks as national debt increases When Fitch, the securities ratings agency, downgraded US sovereign debt, it was a huge story in the financial world. The Wall Street Journal’s initial coverage noted that it was: …clouding the outlook for the $25 trillion global market for Treasurys. Fitch’s rating on the U.S. now stands at “AA+”, or one notch below the top “AAA” grade. America’s reputation for reliably making good on its IOUs has cast Treasury bonds in an indispensable role in global markets: a safe-haven security offering nearly risk-free returns. Treasurys serve as a critical benchmark for returns on stocks and other bonds,

After he was indicted for the third time, Donald Trump reacted with his now-standard, twin-pronged approach: first, expressing outrage and denying the charges, and second, asking his many loyal supporters for money. But the former US president, who faces four charges over his efforts to overturn the 2020 election, also found defenders among rightwing media in America which has often fervently defended him, sometimes flying in the face of reality to do so. In the minutes after the Trump indictment was filed in federal district court in Washington, conservative commentators rapidly scrambled to his defense. Rightwing pundits lined up to compare the charges to “criminalizing thoughts”

Democrats have lost a lot of ground with white working class voters in recent years. In fact, that was one of the driving factors behind Trump’s victory in 2016. Now Democrats have a new plan to win these voters back, by pushing the same divisive ‘race and equity’ nonsense that drove many of these voters away in the first place. How exactly is this supposed to work?A new Democratic-aligned initiative — dubbed the White Stripe Project — has a novel idea for winning white working class voters back to the Democratic Party: lean more into talk of equity and race.

It was a rough month for FOX News. For anyone who’s been paying any attention to what a post-Tucker Carlson landscape would look like at Fox News, two things are pretty apparent: That landscape is pretty barren. The suddenly-beleaguered news network has lost so many viewers, its stock was downgraded. Fox News is trying anything — or perhaps flailing about — in response to hemorrhaging viewers, including some shakeups to its primetime lineup. Following all of the recent turmoil FOX News has lost the trust of American conservatives. Only one-third of self-described conservatives trust FOX News the most. They may never gain back those former viewers. And it doesn’t appear to be a priority.

Of all the outrages in Biden special counsel Jack Smith’s latest indictment of Donald Trump — and there are many — the worst comes at the end of the 45-page screed’s Count One, the section titled “The Defendant’s Exploitation of the Violence and Chaos at the Capitol.” This is where Smith waves the bloody shirt. Smith intends to try Trump for the Capitol riot even though he hasn’t charged Trump for the Capitol riot. No rioting charge. No allegation of criminal incitement. No seditious conspiracy, no insurrection, no crime of violence of any kind. To levy such an allegation would have been untenable. Smith’s indictment hides the ball, as did the like-minded.
