“Platitudes”, that’s the best word to describe what the DeSantis campaign previously claimed would be a substantive economic policy outline from the Florida governor. As the policy was unveiled in New Hampshire yesterday, I watched it all {Direct Rumble Link Here} to see what it would cover and how DeSantis would deliver it. Summary, major fail.
First, I must admit to coming to any economic policy outline as presented with a laser focus. You tell me you have an economic policy, and you have my full attention. Why? Because the economic policy of a federal candidate will ultimately determine monetary policy, fiscal policy and foreign policy.

Some examples:
“DeSantis will end our abusive relationship with China.” How? Doesn’t say.
“DeSantis will demand”…. How? Doesn’t say.
“DeSantis will incentivize”…. How? Doesn’t say.
See the problem?

The biggest economic contribution Trump made was to open up drilling and make us, however briefly, energy independent. Any Republican candidate who promises that and follows through will achieve positive economic results.

I dunno, maybe platitudes are better than lies. Trump: I will build the wall. Um, no. Trump: 15 days to flatten the curve. Um, Fauci. Et cetera, et cetera, et cetera.

For once Sundance actually dispenses some actual facts. The list of the economic benefits to our country, wrought by President Trump, was an interesting read that educated me on a subject that I have trouble absorbing.
Sundance is absolutely correct that Trump’s detailed proposals to deal with China is far better than that released by DeSantis. Trump is clear and forceful while DeSantis, in this instance, is gaseous and vague.
What could have been an excellent piece was marred by the now routine personal attack on DeSantis, filled with innuendo and juvenile denigration. DeSantis is just like Pete Buttigieg
and Kamala Harris? Really?

Sundance has for decades dealt in facts. Then he adds his own analysis. Sort of like posters on these threads. He writes his opinion but always includes the facts, backup, context. That is where he is different Like many of us - and not a few who previously had interest in DeSantis - he finds that DeS is a hollow shell into which others are pouring THEIR policy desires along with their money. And the latter seems to be drying up. He could not stand up to them - they had the power of the purse - and now he is out there, rebooting and retooling and re-whatevering. I see an awkward man who hates retail politics flailing.

Until lately, I truly thought DeSantis was a smart, energetic, great possibility for president, after Trump's second term. I don't anymore. He has to be totally oblivious to the reality of Trump and how many possible votes he loses when he comes out with some of this stuff. I truly wonder if the Bushes are trying to help him or ruin him.

Say what you will about Sundance’s petty attacks on DeSantis, this article explains the difference in the way that Trump and DeSantis approach the economy. Clearly, Trump has given this much thought and has real world experience in dealing with foreign trade. He is precise and informative. He knows this issue and is ready to implement his policies, day one. DeSantis’ 10 Points are vague and we have no idea how he intends to go forward. Whether this is truly DeSantis’ work or not he falls short.

So DeSantis lacks specificity as to how he'd accomplish his policy goals? You mean like the candidate who dramatically and emphatically intoned during a rally in NC just prior to the '16 election, 'We are going to Washington and we-are-going-to--Drain---the--- Swamp?" No? That is different and proves DeSantis is GOPe? Got it.
