A seminal moment in the lives of tens of thousands of young men occurred in 2017 when they attended the Boy Scouts of America (BSA) National Jamboree, where they were addressed by President Donald Trump. The Jambo traditionally has always been a transformative experience for the youths who attend it — two weeks away from their families in a tween- and teen-boy paradise, a sylvan Never Land where they can belch and play with cool, nerdy stuff and whittle and stink without having to worry about impressing girls or being nagged not to do something dangerous.
Anywhere from 2% to 5% of Boy Scouts journey to the quadrennial National Jamboree.

Two of my nephews are Eagle Scouts, as are many conservative friends. The leftists have killed the Scouts.

At our annual July 4th parade, there was a "scout" float. No boys, just girls. Pretty ironic that they forced girls to be part of scouting, but the rest of scouting said, screw that, I'll do something else. Boy scouts, or pedophilia camp, or trans grooming group, what ever it is called now a days is dead.

It was already starting to fall apart when I was in, and that was the early 70's. Nobody except the higher ranking scouts even wore the uniform. Merit badges were no longer sewn onto a sash; they were metal sleeves put on the belt and most were freebeies that took no effort to earn. It seemed they were mutating to "city scouts" even then. We rarely practiced knots or first aid or woods lore. It was mostly recycling, pollution abatement and similar foolishness.
One thing I never saw is the abuse so many allege against the scout leaders. All of ours were great guys and great role models for the boys.
If they had let chicks in back then, I might have stayed longer. I've always liked chicks.

My son is an Eagle Scout. He was treated badly by the lady who did everything on her work computer for the ceremony. (Which means she did nothing) The presenters did not ask beforehand how to pronounce our last name.
My son will not have anything to do with Boy Scouts other than list the Eagle Award on his resume.
My church's boys group is Trailways.

SOLUTION: Make it the way it was introduced or give it up, because we aint gonna help you pretend to help boys.

My greatest experience in scouting was attending the 1969 Boy Scout National Jamboree with 40,000 other scouts at Farragut State Park in the Idaho panhandle near Coeur d'Alene. (I am an Eagle Scout since 1968 with the God and Country Award and the Order of the Arrow.) We arrived at the Jamboree on July 15 and departed on July 23, having seen Neil Armstrong step on the moon on closed circuit television. It was great to meet scouts from all across America, from all states. Nobody who was there will ever forget the Jamboree, or the long bus trip to and from it. Back then the Boy Scouts was a virtuous organization, and scouters (adult scouts) were responsible people, usually fathers of boys currently in the troop, and always protected the boys.
A few years ago Rex Tillerson pushed the Scouts in the wrong direction, and now the gay obsessed outside world is no longer a comfortable milieu for scouts. Scouting has been ruined. If I had a scouting age son, I wouldn't want him to become a scout in this time. It's not 1966 anymore. Humanity has "grown" and bent. It won't end well.

A popular saying goes something like "you should not live in the past" but for many of us the past was better and quality of life was superior. Girls were girls and boys were boys, no need to ask.

The Boy Scouts: one of the best examples of how libs destroy everthing they touch... or breathe on or look at sideways.

Was in BSA for three years and attended two jamborees at Camp Tamarack in Michigan.
Great experiences, taught me a lot, and this writer’s assessment that on a BSA trip boys could be boys was the most but not the only trenchant observation.
We wish we could share this experience with our son, but with gay scoutmasters, girls, and “non-binary,” kids along for the ride it’s just no longer the BSA.
Hard to really credit the, “liberals destroy everything they touch,” meme but it sure seems that way esp. on this topic.

if they don't put the nail in the coffin of the Boy Scouts and all the other Scouts organizations pretty soon, the LGBTQRSTUVWXYZ faction will do it for them and they will "Take No Prisoners"

Liberalism destroys everything it gets its hands on. Liberalism creeps into even the best organizations and in so doing, rots it from the head first.

What a shame for those boys who could have benefitted from the Boy Scout experience.
