The gunman who allegedly killed a Tennessee surgeon in an examination room yesterday was identified Wednesday morning as Larry Pickens by the Collierville Police Department. Pickens, 29, of Memphis, has been charged with first-degree murder and aggravated assault in the targeted attack on Dr. Benjamin Mauck at the Campbell Clinic Orthopedics in Collierville, Major David Townsend wrote in a Nextdoor update. Pickens’ bail has been set at $1.2 million. His arraignment is scheduled for Thursday.

Hold on - - don't jump to conclusions. The perp was NOT a "teen" or a "youth." The perp was a "man." So now we can expect wall-to-walll media coverage of this horrific crime. Can't we?

One of Dr Mauk's, a hand surgeon, listed specialties was "Trigger finger Syndrome". I'm going to hazard a guess that his murderer's only specialty involved drugs...and getting arrested. He has the telltale "I've never done anything positive in my entire miserable Life" Haircut.

I hate to take two bites but does anybody see the reward for thirty years of schooling and training? Being murdered by a guy who probably didn't get through 8th grade. This is NOT a gun problem, it is a people problem. Violence is violence regardless of the medium it's exercised in. It could have been a u haul truck or a tire iron, but this useless piece of meat was going to murder that doctor no matter what. SMH

Normally, in situation like this if the perp has a ghetto name the press is told "...the suspect was not immediately identified." But Larry Pickens is not necessarily ghetto so we learned his identity right away. I am so sorry for the doctor's family, friends and colleagues. This senseless act must be avenged. I hope the local DA is not a George Soros funded disciple. In LA we know all about Soros DAs.

A surgeon, with years of education and training, with a skill to offer to patients and society. Killed by what? A total loser. I am not a supporter of abortion, but I think rape, incest, and the life of the mother are exceptions many Americans can live with. But this killer makes the case for for "late term abortion". In other words, the death penalty. Society needs to remove a predator from its midst as quickly as possible. Spending decades to house and feed this individual in a prison is the definition of insanity. Think of all the good that money could do. But what do we do? We subsidize evil until he "pays back his debt to society". Madness.

"He stalked them for a week"...did they report it? Did they even call the cops? Did they ask security to keep him out of the building? Did he buy the gun legally? Passed the background check?

Right, #4. All you have to do is peruse the weapons in prisons, made out of almost any object or material, a sock filled with rocks or pebbles or other hard materials, for example. When there is a depraved mind, the depraved and wicked person will do anything to act on his, or her, depraved plan. And, as we know, the gun is the proximate cause, but it isn't THE problem. The problem is in the depraved heart of an individual, and these acts of violence are demonstrations of the evil individual and the corrupt spiritual, political, sociological, and cultural state of our nation.

He won’t be tried for murder. Sentenced to psychiatric facility because the surgeon didn’t “fix” his problem to Pickens’ satisfaction and it caused the murderer great emotional distress. He’ll walk after a short stay under care of psychiatrists who will help him get over his post surgical trauma and assure us he has seen the error of his ways. Meanwhile, the world has lost a first class surgeon who lived to help others. Entitlement rears its ugly head again. It’s going to get even uglier.
