Attorney Lin Wood, known for filing challenges seeking to overturn former President Donald Trump's 2020 election loss, is giving up his law license instead of facing possible disbarment.
On Tuesday, Wood asked officials in Georgia, his home state, to "retire" his law license in light of “disciplinary proceedings pending against me." In the request, Wood acknowledged that after relinquishing his license, he is “prohibited from practicing law in this State and in any other state or jurisdiction and that I may not reapply for admission."

Ruy Teixeira has written about this topic many times. Today he has an opinion piece in the Washington Post arguing that the Hispanic drift toward the GOP is still happening. He opens with a review of just how significant this shift was in 2020:
Trump improved his performance among Hispanics by 20 points in Wisconsin, 18 points in Texas and Nevada, 12 points in Pennsylvania and Arizona and among urban Hispanics in Chicago, New York and Houston. In Chicago’s predominantly Hispanic precincts, Trump improved his raw vote by 45 percent over 2016.
In 2022, Teixeira writes there was no further evidence of a continued shift to the right but

A federal judge has overturned an Oregon law that criminalizes the recording of someone without their consent on the grounds that it violates the First Amendment.
In a 2-1 ruling by a Ninth Circuit panel, Judge Sandra Ikuta declared Oregon law 165.540 unconstitutional because the state does not have an obligation to protect people’s privacy in public places.
First passed in 1955, the law was later expanded to include the secret recording of conversations. It does, however, contain exceptions for law enforcement and other specific interest groups.

Two leading African-American Democrats have in the last three weeks obligingly confirmed the cynicism of their party’s approach to core racial issues. President Obama was speaking in a podcast with the closest the contemporary Democratic Party has to the late dirty tricks activist, Saul Alinsky, David Axelrod, who was a political strategist for Mr. Obama for many years.
In response to a question of Mr. Axelrod’s designed to incite a rebuttal of racially optimistic opinions expressed by prominent minority Republicans, Mr. Obama said that the “hopeful message” delivered by the Republican African-American senator from South Carolina and candidate for the presidential nomination

The Taliban regime on Monday ordered hundreds of beauty salons across the country to close by the end of July, marking the Islamist regime’s latest offense against the rights and dignity of women in Afghanistan.
The order came via text message from the “Ministry for the Prevention of Vice and Propagation of Virtue,” which said it was acting on a decree from Taliban Supreme Leader Hibatullah Akhundzada.
“The deadline for the closing of beauty parlors for women is one month,” the message said, without elaborating on what would happen to salons that dare to remain open when the deadline passes.

A huge win for freedom of speech!
The State Department canceled its future meetings with Facebook just one day after US District Court Judge Terry Doughty, a Trump appointee who still honors the US Constitution, accused the Biden Regime of violating the First Amendment by censoring unfavorable views in a blistering 155-page opinion.
A Trump-appointed federal judge on Tuesday issued a preliminary injunction prohibiting DHS, FBI, DOJ, and other agencies from its government-wide, fascist conspiracy with Big Tech to censor speech and manipulate the public.

A federal judge in Louisiana on Tuesday specifically barred President Joe Biden’s press secretary from colluding with corporate tech giants to censor Americans’ speech.
In a preliminary injunction handed down on July 4, Judge Terry Doughty, chief judge of the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Louisiana, implemented restrictions on collusion between the Biden White House and social media companies. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was among the more than three dozen administration officials specifically named who are now prohibited from engaging in collaborative censorship.

Believe it or not, people are reluctant to tell total strangers about their potentially controversial activities. In particular, Rutgers University researchers say, gun ownership is something many Americans decline to reveal when questioned by people they don't know. That's especially true of women and minorities newly among the ranks of gun owners amidst the chaos of recent years. Academics are unhappy that privacy-minded respondents impair their understanding of the world we live in, but such evasion is an inevitable consequence of decades of fiery debate and punitive gun policies.

In a Wednesday morning tweet, Riggleman, a former intelligence analyst, further explains his current position.

How are Americans feeling these days? Certainly not united. Our nation appears to be indivisible in name only. Even more surprising, a significant number of people have even begun to wonder if the United States of America as we know it will even exist in the future, data from the latest I&I/TIPP Poll shows.
Starting with the Unity Index, the proprietary I&I/TIPP gauge of national harmony, we ask people each month if they feel our common bond remains. They are then given five possible responses: “very united,” “somewhat united,” “somewhat divided,” “very divided” or “unsure.”

Shouldn't it be a huge national story that a big city like LA has had a record stretch where it didn't hit 80 degrees in 60 days in May and June? After all, the media always warns us that the earth is getting dangerously warmer? We are told constantly that there are too many people, and that causes warming, so isn’t it amazing that the population of LA County in 1880 was around 33,000 and today it is over 10 million? How is it possible that the population is 300 times higher, yet the temperature is lower than at any time in 145 years.

This Independence Day, 49 percent of Americans, according to Gallup, say they are political independents — not Democrats, not Republicans. If you believe those voters, independents are now America’s biggest political party.
It also means I have a bridge to sell you, because this outbreak of political independence is the biggest joke in politics. Those voters like to tell their friends and pollsters they are sick of Republicans and Democrats, but come Election Day, almost all of them are predictably Republicans or Democrats.
Come nighttime, their favorite political television shows affirm their real opinions on the right or the left.

The Israeli military withdrew its troops from a militant stronghold in the occupied West Bank on Wednesday, ending an intense two-day operation that killed at least 12 Palestinians, drove thousands of people from their homes and left a wide swath of damage in its wake.
One Israeli soldier was also killed.
The army claimed to have inflicted heavy damage on militant groups in the Jenin refugee camp in an operation that included a series of airstrikes and hundreds of ground troops.
But it remained unclear whether there would be any long-lasting effect after nearly a year and a half of heavy fighting in the West Bank.

The Supreme Court has ruled 6-3 that racial preferences in college admissions violate the U.S. Constitution.
At last!
