Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’s (R) net favorability rating plunged to an all-time low after his first full month on the presidential campaign trail, a Civiqs poll found.
In December, the Civiqs poll found that DeSantis’s net favorability rating was -1, with 46 percent having a favorable opinion of him compared to 47 percent unfavorable. (Tweet) As of June 26, DeSantis’s net favorability rating is -22, with just 34 percent of registered voters favoring DeSantis compared to 56 percent who hold an unfavorable opinion. An additional nine percent remained unsure.
Among independents, DeSantis’s favorability has drastically fallen. Compared to December when DeSantis held a +11 favorability rating among the critical voting bloc,

I wonder if he regrets his decision. I'm not saying it's over for him, but certainly this isn't playing out as he envisioned. He had it made as America's beloved and respected Governor.

He coulda been part of Trumps cabinet and ascended to potential continuance of Trump republicanism. Instead, he became the unipartiers latest effort to Coopt Trump support while maintaining their exclusive standing above us all.

Why is he so anxious to get a job no one with good sense would even want.
He had it made. He was Governor and was well liked.
All he had to do was wait and he was a shoo-in.
Now he stepped in it and it's going to be hard to clean it up. He may have screwed up a sure shot.

Virtually identical to Trump's numbers by the same polling organization. Yeah, Breitbart forget to mention that.

I voted for Trump twice and will again if he is the nominee, but I cannot understand Trump's (and his surrogates') attacks on DeSantis, both personal and on policy. Trump has been treated more unfairly than any president or candidate in American history, but he has given his political opponents plenty of rope, most of it entirely unnecessary and counterproductive. What in the world has DeSantis done to call him part of the uniparty? I would like to see Reagan's 11th commandment honored in this contest.

Very well said, # 9.
Trump, whether he likes it not, needs some serious competition.for the nomination. 2024 will not be 2016 redux, no matter how ardently some people wish it could be so. But I guess drinking the Sundance Kool-Aide has a way of impairing the judgement of some folks.

De Santis disappointed me - - big time - - when instead of enthusiastically supporting President Trump - - and waiting until 2028 - - when he would still be less than 50 years old - - his massive ego compelled him to oppose President Trump now.
I had thought De Santis was a cut above the usual hack pol - - but he's right in the thick of those egotistical maniacs.

This is a left-wing poll calculated to weaken the governor, because they know very well that if Trump is the candidate, he will be crushed in the 24 election. Anyone who doubts this is, letting their emotions override their intelligence.

DeSantis has not learned how to run a national campaign. He should have waited for 2028, and Trump would have been of invaluable help.

There is always a poll to prop up the headline they want, eh? We don’t have to go by some poll of dubious origin to know Gov. DeSantis is struggling with the script Bush-Rove team is giving to him.
I would love to see this good Governor put the brakes on and go meet with Trump. These two men need to work together and ignore those malicious GOPe professional hacks stirring

..angst between the two men. I pray Ron and Casey realize they are simply being used by the antiMAGA establishment to divide and hurt President Trump.

The reason I have lost trust in DeSantis is basically explained by #2. DeSantis looked genuinely in line to become “Trump 2”, with regard to making America great again. He is young. 2028 was his for the taking.
My belief is that no one who is genuinely conservative could compromise those beliefs by not fighting for them. Choosing to run in 2024 instead of fighting to correct the fraudulent election mechanism & standing with MAGA, & especially joining with those who vehemently oppose it, is more than enough proof that he isn’t what he pretends to be, imo.
I read mistaken criticism of “only Trump” voters for supporting Trump. Supporting Trump is synonymous with standing for America first for me. Yet, the ones with whom DeSantis has aligned himself rub shoulders publicly with the Obama’s, called Bill Clinton a brother from another mother, & reportedly voted for Hillary instead of Donald Trump in 2016. That tells me that they likely voted for Biden in 2020. They have shown more loyalty to those true friends than to us, & to America, imo.
As to Reagan’s 11th Amendment, Ronald Reagan was loyal to America first. If he were here, and saw the backstabbing that Donald Trump has taken for delivering on the unkept conservative promises to America, by some of these supporters of DeSantis, I don’t believe for a minute that he would defend them.

Oh Good Grief! I have tried to stay out of the line of fire that comes to anyone who might like Gov. DeSantis. I've been on Lucianne since the beginning and I don't want to lose friends over this election. But, #18 has really ruffled my Feathers! Those of us who like DeSantis, for what ever reason should not be accused of being Hillary or Biden Voters. None of us are that! I support him because I have lived in Florida for 20 years. Gov. DeSantis is by far the Best Governor we have had here! I have lived in IL, MI and TN as well and NONE of the Governors could hold a candle to him. So WHY in the world would you people trash this Good Man? He has every right to run for President! He decided now is his time. So What! Trump was a Great President, but he doesn't walk on water. He needs to WIN this election himself. He doesn't need everyone else running to get out of the Race so he can win!! He needs to Debate. We, the Voters deserve to hear him on the Debate Stage. I voted for him Twice, but it's still my RIGHT to decide who to vote for this time around without being accused of Backstabbing Trump. Jeesh! Nobody can hold a candle to Trump when it comes to hurling nasty remarks to his Opponents. So no, President Reagan sure wouldn't be happy with what is happening in this Campaign! So can we all just be friends??

Sorry feathers were ruffled by post #18. Perhaps a calmer re-reading might help smooth the ruffles.
No Ldotters, that I’m aware of, were either thought, or said, to have voted for Hillary. I’ve been an Ldotter for quite a number of years myself. I love this place and respect & appreciate every member here. I also appreciate that we have differing perspectives & opinions regarding any number of subjects and issues. I don’t believe that the vast majority of opinions posted here are meant to be mean spirited - mine certainly aren’t. If a difference of opinion were to cause me to lose friends & relationships, I would have lost some very dear and personal to me. Most Trump supporters & vocal defenders have a bit of experience in standing in the line of fire. Here and elsewhere.
I was explaining why I, as a Republican-voting, registered Independent, have lost trust in Ron DeSantis. I’m not maligning anyone who chooses to continue to trust him. I simply do not, until he gives me better reason to change my mind - similar to that mentioned in #17.
Otherwise, I continue to believe I’m completely justified in thinking that taking millions of dollars from people who have led conservatives on over the years, leading us to believe they wanted the same things for America that we want & repeatedly dashing our hopes until we are brought to this point, is a reason to question the timing & motives of someone who willfully aligns with them. I’m certain DeSantis is a smart man. He has been in politics for quite a number of years. He knows the powerbrokers advising & supporting him. He should know their expectations of him, & his lack of probability in successfully going against their longstanding views, under those circumstances. I watched a very similar scenario play out with GWB, a man that I held in the same high regard that many have for DeSantis. He and the people surrounding him profoundly disappointed me. I’m going to try my best to avoid another disappointment like that.

Two observations: Anti-Trump trolls with unfamiliar names show up during the election seasons. There are just a few now, but they stick out like sore thumbs.
Observation #2: Why are DeSantis supporters so defensive? One prominent one was part of the Anti-Trump group at LCom in 2016. We old-timers do have memories…
A fan of DeSantis since I saw him on televised House committee hearing broadcasts some years ago. Now I believe his strongest “influencer” Jill Casey is ambitious like another one we know. Not interested in what is best for our country and its people, but ambitious to the max. Pushing. Choreographing. I wouldn’t be surprised if she “encouraged” him to ally with Rove and the Bushes and the globalist billionaires. She did him and us no favor. He has lost his authenticity, is on the wrong track, and likely has killed future chances. The manipulation of he laws of Florida to facilitate his breaking away from what had been the law for those governors before him were a red light that this was about someone’s raw ambition. He lost me..

It’s funny that some polls are not believed and others are written in stone. DeSantis running may be the best thing that happens to Trump. He can continue to say he was robbed and knock the other candidates, or he can tell us how good we had it, and it will be even better when he’s president again.
#22 seems to have a grudge against Mrs. DeSantis, who must be running the campaign even after fighting breast cancer and raising 3 children. Or maybe she’s wanting to support her husband because she knows he’s a good man and will do a good job if he should win. He’s young, but we’re not promised tomorrow, so let him run if he wants to.

No, I have no “grudge” against Jill Casey DeSantis, but many of his staffers as governor and campaign workers are pretty outspoken about her
I see the same group that led the anti-Trump faction here in 2016 still hanging together.

And we all voted for Trump too. We just worry that he may “lose” again, but another candidate might not lose.
