The number of congregations departing the United Methodist Church (UMC) exceeded 5,000 last week as the second-largest Protestant denomination in the U.S. continues to fracture over theological disagreements, mostly pertaining to human sexuality. The number of churches that have been given the green light by their annual conferences to disaffiliate increased from approximately 4,600 early last week to 5,321 as of Friday, according to UM News.
The number of churches leaving the UMC has surged in recent years, with approximately 2,000 congregations being approved to disaffiliate in 2022 and more than 3,000 this year.
America’s All Volunteer Force turns 50 this year. Since 1973, the U.S. military has, with rare exceptions, met its annual recruitment goals and improved the quality of the force.
Now, however, it is mired in its worst recruiting stretch in history. Last year, the Army missed its recruiting goal by 25% and already predicts it will miss again in 2023. Ditto the Air Force and Navy.
Officials cite numerous reasons for the shortfall: low unemployment, a smaller pool of young people qualified to serve, declining public confidence in the military and more. Whatever the reasons, these recruiting failures portend trouble for military readiness.
With all the chaos that has permeated the cultural arena over the last decade or so, it’s easy for conservatives to get discouraged. Things have truly gone off the rails, with a level of depravity that was once thought to be unthinkable becoming mainstream.
At the forefront of that has been the battle over transgender ideology. Children are being pumped full of puberty blockers, and in some cases, being physically mutilated by surgeries, all under the ridiculous guise of “transitioning.” Nothing is sacred for the far-left, not even the health and well-being of children. Yet, amidst all the darkness, there is hope peaking through.

House Committee on Oversight and Accountability Chairman James Comer (R-KY) sent a subpoena to a Biden family business associate Monday urging him to appear before the committee Friday.
The subpoena was sent to Devon Archer, a major player in Biden family business dealings in China, Russia, and Ukraine, according to a release announcing the subpoena. The release said Archer was also President Joe Biden’s son “Hunter Biden’s business partner in several transactions involving foreign nationals and foreign companies.”
The news of the subpoena comes as the Oversight Committee continues to look into alleged misdoings by the Biden family around the world
