Florida Governor Ron DeSantis always makes a big deal about signing all of the Florida laws that stem from new legislation the people behind his administration submit from his office. However, when he signed the new law that sealed all his travel records (snip) he did so quietly.
The Ron DeSantis reelection was all a big con job… all of it. Florida was duped, and I have had a lot of people begging me not to point it out and talk about it. Too bad. The Truth Has No Agenda here!
The not pretending reason for the exclusive DeSantis new law is to stop anyone from tracing the background

This kind of stuff makes me much less inclined to trust the man. Meetings with people in the WEF? Is he just the latest actor playing a conservative like so many else have proven to be?
Hiding stuff like this is NOT smart, unless you are a crook.

They have to know that people don't want anything to do with the swamp rats named Bush, and since DeSantis is aligning himself with them, he has to keep this information hidden for as long as possible. Plus this keeps his donors out of the spotlight as well. Can't have that information exposed now can we?

I would have more respect for Sundance if he applied the same level of critical analysis against all candidates. This looks like he is giving Trump a pass.

If I was a Florida resident, I'd be pretty upset that DeSantis just ran for reelection and now is showing all the signs of running for POTUS. Hiding his travel information from the voters (and potential supporters) isn't a good sign. What's he hiding? I'm not convinced that Trump will get the Republican nomination, but I don't think DeSantis will either.

A year ago I was pretty impressed with this guy, but lately he's making me more and more nervous. If the reports are accurate, its looking like the Bushies and one worlders have turned him into a uniparty ringer; not unlike Romney and McCain. Not good.

This conservative Floridian - who has twice voted for Governor DeSantis - doesn't care one whit about this Mickey Mouse garbage. The country is coming apart at the seams and some normally serious people on this board are being led over the cliff by a crackpot.
Ron DeSantis is everything a conservative could want in a public official. Trying to destroy one of our brightest young talents is an act of political madness.
If this Sundance character has any dirt on Governor Ron let him come out with it NOW, instead of curning out hit pieces filled with smear and innuendo.
I guess some folks are so wedded to the movie script fantasy that Trump is going to take the country by storm in '24 and restore righteousness.to the land that they cannot tolerate the notion of another serious candidate for the nomination. That yields up a very stupid brand of politics.

I'm with #10. None of the polls I'm aware of show Trump ahead in even a single swing state. And he continues to openly mock Rinos while making no effort to even ask for their votes. And his TV ads against DeSantis are juvenile.

No one was duped in Florida. Its well known that DeSantis may be a presidential candidate, and he never said that he wouldn't run. But the never DeSantis folks will hang their hats on anything that they can to put him down.
Every little rumor about DeSantis is gospel, and anything negative concerning Trump is fake news.
At least be intellectually honest.

Sundance and his 'a-men' corner have left no doubt about their hatred of DeSantis or anyone not named Trump who has the temerity to seek the presidency when all the cool kids know that the presidency is a Trump birthright. The likely suspects would no doubt call Abe Lincoln a Rovian RINO, never mind the fact that when Rove or any of the Bush clan had any real stroke, Trump was once again, in one of his many iterations as a democrat.

This is going to knock him down a few notches. People have the right to know where their politicians go and how they spend tax money. We always knew where Barack and Michelle went with their huge entourage of family and friends. The Daily Mail always came through with pictures galore.

imagine what our President, Donald J. Trump could have accomplished in his time of office had he this legislature in Florida, could that be why DeSantis has accomplished as much as he has since becoming Governor

I agree DeSantis did great things as Florida's governor in his first term. He was especially impressive responding to the latest hurricane disaster. His leadership fighting the encroachment of LGBTQ+ in the classroom is inspiring, as well as his David against Goliath combat with the now perverted Disney Company.
However, it does give me pause when he campaigned for re-election he promised to serve his entire second term, as per the then Florida state law. A good and sound law in my estimation, one I envied Florida for possessing. Almost immediately upon his re-election, the "Republican" majority legislature began pushing bills that would change the "force to resign" law for the sole convenience of Ron DeSantis. True, I'm just a Californian from across the country, but it seems to me that an important change to a state's law such as this should at least be discussed by legislators with their constituents before drafting the legislation.
Then this jolly little bait-and-switch is quickly followed up with a companion piece of legislation that puts an umbrella over the sunshine laws that allows the public to know the funding behind travel enjoyed by public officials. The timing of which just happens to follow the Top Gov's grand tour of Europe selling his book on "The Courage to be Free". By the way, published by Harper Collins - owned by Rupert Murdock. Yea, DeSantis is his own man. Yea, DeSantis is an honorable man. Trust him. He says you can. Like he said he would serve his second term as governor. Which he probably will.

I used to think that Dan Crenshaw was a good guy.
I am now convinced that he is NOT a good guy. DeSantis has me worried. He did a lot that was right and good during the Dempanic, but now.....I am worried, and going to watch.

If I recall correctly, Texas did a similar thing when GWB was governor, running for president. It helped to protect him and the law enforcement officers (Texas Ranger?) who were his protection detail.

Making laws that affect only oneself is a highly suspicious action. Barack the Muslim Kenyan sealed every record he ever had (or didn't have) all the way back to his birth and I knew immediately that he was going to be bad news. As it turned out, he was worse news. He tried to play the part of a Uniting, Christian American and he was none of the above.

One of his stated reasons is for his safety. People knowing his travel schedule would put him in more danger. That "reason" kinda flies in the face of the law applying retroactively. There is no danger to him for people to know where he has been -- unless it is political danger.

I would ask this question: does anyone here really believe that there is anything in those travel records that would discourage him or her from voting for DeSantis if he were to become the nominee? Is there some belief on this board that he is secretly consorting with Klaus Schwab and the Davos crowd?
Personally, this Floridian hopes that Governor Rion does not throw his hat into the ring for '24. IMO he ought to continue to strike while the iron is hot (supportive majorities in both chambers of the legislature) and keep on doing his level best for the citizens of FL who elected him. But if he does go for the GOP nomination I will try to dispassionately assess his performance against Trump and cast my primary ballot accordingly. As an earlier poster said, the presidency is no one's birthright.

Only establishment white board operatives get to ask and report on political candidates they don't endorse. Lets run Jeb or Mitt and get rid of Ron the middle man,
