A number of migrants, traveling to the United States-Mexico border in the hopes of being released into the nation’s interior, profiled by CNN said they are fleeing crime and looking to secure U.S. jobs. Neither is a valid claim for asylum. As President Joe Biden’s administration ends Title 42, the public health authority that has been used as a border control to remove close to three million illegal aliens from the border since mid-2020, hundreds of thousands of migrants are waiting in Mexico(snip) Their goal is ultimately to claim asylum and be subsequently released into the U.S. interior, through Biden’s expansive Catch and Release network, while awaiting their immigration hearings

Comments:

Why will they show up for an asylum hearing when they know their cases will fail?

OP, the Progressive Democrats are not concerned about later, many don't have a date to report either. I read today some have been told their court date is in 2035. The point, get them here, and figure out some sort of amnesty program which will be how the Progressive Democrats will gain their quid pro quo, since once granted amnesty they will feel obligated to vote for the party who encouraged them to come, and give them that benefit. I presume, operating under asylum, they won't be considered here illegally, and asylum speeds the process of obtaining citizenship (and voting) to 3-5 years instead of the over 10 year wait for the normal application process to become a citizen. And, once they obtain a drivers license, they likely will be a new candidate for ballot harvesting.

In 1980, Fidel Castro solved a lot of problems by kicking out all of the anti-Communists, criminals, and mentally ill out of Cubs. They became America's problem. It is deja vu all over again.

In a win for the Justice Department, a federal judge on Friday blocked a May 24 deposition of former President Donald Trump in connection with a pair lawsuits filed by former FBI officials Peter Strzok and Lisa Page. The order from U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson was in response to a Justice Department motion filed on Thursday urging her to reconsider an earlier ruling that said that Trump and FBI Director Christopher Wray could be deposed in the lawsuits, without specifying the order of depositions. Government attorneys argued that Wray's deposition, which has not been scheduled, could make Trump's unnecessary.

Chicago got a lot more than it bargained for when the people voted for “sanctuary city” policies. It’s the best idea anyone has come up with yet. Let the sanctuary cities become the new border towns! Let the blowhards who say it’s inhumane to turn people away absorb them! The Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 vaccines did not impact overall mortality, a reanalysis of clinical trial data found. Lately we haven’t been covering the conflict in Ukraine—the kinetic military front of the overall World War III—too closely. The message that Republicans in Congress hear most often is: “Stop talking, start fighting.” Republicans have spent enormous amounts of time, money, and effort debating ideas and policy. Well-reasoned and true ideas are essential to good governance, but they do not ensure policy victory. Winning requires an organized effort to implement the right ideas through the relevant political processes. This is exactly why I launched a new group of conservative Republicans at the beginning of this Congress. I founded the Anti-Woke Caucus as a forum for common-sense legislators to craft the strategies needed to implement good policy. How so? First, via appropriations.

These sources said the administration is still delaying the implementation of some punitive measures, including tougher export rules for Chinese telecom giant Huawei and sanctions against Chinese officials for abusing
