What? What??!!? No “exploding” bullets??!!!

The carbine was a Kel-tec sub2000, probably in 9mm because that's what her pistol was. The sub2000 folds in half just ahead of the trigger for transport and storage, but must be fully straightened out to fire. It is most certainly NOT an "assault" weapon. The ONLY assault weapons in this incident were used by the police who terminated the confrontation and the shooter.

Does it matter? Those beautiful children are still gone as are the educators. I can't even imagine what the parents of the three children are experiencing right now facing the burial of their own children. I'm sick of this mental health crisis in Amerika and, as we see, the trannies are happily part of it. Today's Amerika on full display.

Yep. I posted yesterday about all the nonsense, lies and just stupidity being posted on the guns. The mix of incompetence, ignorance and willful misinformation makes a nasty stew of untruth on the web and airways. OK, there it is there is a kind of "long gun" (rifle or carbine) which is designed to shoot PISTOL ammo, in this case, almost certainly 9mm Luger ammunition. There are MANY guns in this class, made by many different companies. The particular one used is made by Kel Tec a Florida company known for innovation. This model (Sub 20000) folds in half, and takes standard pistol magazines. The pistol grip part looks exactly like a handgun....magazine in the grip, except that the "pistol" has a long 18" barrel and a stock that folds out. MUCH LESS concealable than a handgun, even when folded for storage, and cannot be fired in the folded condition. Remember, this is firing the exact same handgun ammo as the handgun she carried. For home defense, it the rifle/carbine is a bit easier for most people to use, many people just cannot hit much of anything beyond 5 foot range with a handgun. Pistol caliber carbines (PCCs, they are called) are easier to hit your target with, but not as powerful as a rifle. SO------ she did not use an AR 15 variant, although one was found on the scene, along with a 9mm handgun. All their lies "extremely powerful weapons of war", and the rest of that "assault weapon" nonsense do not apply to what is essentially a rifle firing pistol ammo. Shorter than average rifles are called "carbines" a historic term when national armies issued rifles to infantry troops and shorter handier versions of the same gun to their truck drivers, engineers, artillery men, and other folks not primarily fighting with a personal weapon, because the longer rifles were inconvenient to carry around and rarely used by these troops. So a carbine is just a short rifle. Still meets all the ATF rules for rifles, is officially classed as a rifle in firearms laws. But NOT any kind of an "assault rifle".

This whole discussion is stupid. The AR 15 uses a .223 round which is high velocity, but very low in bullet weight. For the Uvalde police to say they were afraid that it would penetrate their body armor is just ignorance. That is the round that I used to shoot bottles with my kids.

You could tell by the released video that the perpetrator inside the school, in reality was not holding an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle. I believe only the police officers used AR-15 type rifles. It was the liberal media, as they do after just about every mass school shooting, who falsely propagandized to the nation that the perpetrator used two AR-15 rifles, a false claim that is in keeping with the leftist Democrat political agenda. Then Biden popped up and after inappropriately advertising a certain brand and flavor of high priced ice cream claiming that the shooter used an AK-47 assault rifle, that was also a false statement but still in keeping with the leftist Democrat political agenda. If the atrocity was not immediately politicized, the make, model, and caliber of the firearm used by the perpetrator, who was obviously a seriously mentally ill person would not be an issue. Instead the politicians of both political parties would be talking about a new gun safety law whereby such mentally ill persons, who are certified as being suicidal or a threat to innocent people, would no longer be able to purchase or possess any sort of firearm, allowing law enforcement to confiscate the firearms possessed by certified mentally ill persons, with following court hearing available to safeguard the constitutional rights of the said to be mentally ill person whose firearms were confiscated. It is also important that the so-called “manifesto” written by the perpetrator that was found by the police be publicly released so that the American people can decide for themselves why the perpetrator carried out her atrocity at the Christian school that was not a threat to anyone.

The caliber/type of weapon is irrelevant. The murderer was mentally ill to the degree that she believed she was a man. Thanks to the N'ville police officers who have rid us of this feral vermin.

Re #8, .223 will go through any normal police Level III or IIIA soft body armor. To stop rifle rounds, Level IV body armor is required, which, while available in the market, and worn by our troops in combat, is thick, rigid, and heavy. It is not possible to wear Level IV under a shirt like the soft Level III armor. That said, what a whiney-assed excuse for those cowards at Uvalde.
