Three years after COVID struck Michigan, Gov. Gretchen Whitmer now admits that many of her early lockdown rules, in retrospect, “don’t make a lot of sense.” “We had to make some decisions, that in retrospect, don’t make a lot of sense,” Whitmer said in a CNN interview clip posted by the Twitter account @Breaking911. When COVID struck, Whitmer shuttered much of the state’s economy. Her rules deemed which careers were “essential” and ordered “nonessential” workers to stay home. Whitmer banned stores larger than 50,000 square feet from selling paint and home-improvement supplies, as well as advertising for “nonessential” goods. Even poperating a motorboat could bring criminal charges, as

Whitmer and her team of idiots were having a blast restricting anything they could think of until the Michigan legislature finally shut her down. She knew at the time that she was out of control. She didn’t care. It was fun while it lasted.

Business owners were fined (and in at least one case arrested) for simply trying to make a living while she issued ridiculous rules under the guise of "safety". Then she was caught on more than one occasion violating her own orders. There's no "in hindsight". She knew at the time that none of it would make a difference; otherwise she would have obeyed her own edicts.

Biden (Trump too), and lots of Governors made a lot of stupid rules during Covid. Whitmer (fortunately for Michigan) had a Republican State Legislature and Senate during Covid to help keep her in check. Both houses are now controlled by Democrats. Thank God all of Michigan government was not controlled by Democrats during Covid. Of course Drs. Fauci, Brix, the liars at the CDC, the WHO, and the media helped to spread misinformation and implement unnecessary, draconian, stupid rules that controlled the population but protected nobody. They knowingly gave inaccurate information that prolonged the shutdowns of schools and businesses.

She then spent two weeks in the hospital and has had multiple surgeries. The mayor of Miami Beach wants to cancel Spring Break as footage emerged of the moment a man was shot dead on a sidewalk during another wild weekend of partying. 'We haven’t asked for spring break in our city. We don’t want spring break in our city. It’s too rowdy, brings too much disorder and is simply too difficult to police,' said Democratic mayor Dan Gelber. The chaotic weekend saw two men shot dead and partygoers jumping on a car, brawling in streets and even trashing a slushie shop on the main drag despite the city instituting a curfew on Sunday night. Climate war: Green Handouts Shaped SVB Biz “If government funds it, they will come,” snarks The Wall Street Journal’s Kimberley A. Strassel. “That’s one overlooked story line” in Silicon Valley Bank’s collapse. In recent years, SVB’s clients have “skewed in one direction,” including 1,150 in the climate-tech and sustainability sector. The bank provided services to startups that weren’t profitable and would’ve had a harder time getting loans elsewhere, i.e., “subprime firms” — knowing the federal government was offering “handouts” to such companies. Congress’ $1.2 trillion infrastructure bill, for instance, “was a starting gun for a clean-tech frenzy,” making “hundreds of billions” available.

Again, my stance, particularly in this case, shouldn’t be confused with opposition to the current culprit in the spotlight: salt. Specifically, excessive consumption of salt.
