Needless to say, I don’t often write about such things as healthy diets and lifestyles — which is not to say I don’t adhere to both — but when the World Health Organization calls on member governments to pass strict limitations on what I can eat and how much of it, it gets my attention — and should get yours, as well.
Again, my stance, particularly in this case, shouldn’t be confused with opposition to the current culprit in the spotlight: salt. Specifically, excessive consumption of salt. While I agree in principle with the notion, I don’t agree that it’s the job of the federal government to look

I would bet a lot of my own money that insects are low in salt (at least in our elite's opinion).

I had a couple of different doctors tell me I needed to watch my salt, so I watched my diet and kept track of the sodium in everything and I was below what they recommended. We don't eat many prepared foods and I cook pretty much from scratch. Guess where all that salt is that they think we use too much of. And #5, I'm with you about the french fries - one of the few things I really salt :)

From the same sort of shower adjusters who brought us the carb-heavy food pyramid. Which will kill more? Salt, or the WHO/CDC/Fauci vaccines? WHO knows (but won’t say).

Some people have a salt sensitivity that causes health issues. Some don't. It is not universal. I have a friend that does. He feels it is genetic as his dad does too.
I have always been a salt fiend as is my 83 yo mom. Our BP rarely gets above 120/80. In fact we usually run low if not very low. We probably NEED the salt we crave to keep our BP regular. I mean animals instinctively know they need salt and mineral blocks to get the correct nutrients to survive.

In the absence of an underlying condition such as congestive heart failure or renal dysfunction, salt is completely harmless.

Salt is essential for human life and in human history has not only been used to preserve meat and fish; it has been used to disinfect wounds and used as currency. As such, the word, "salary" was derived from the word, "salt." Even today, salt is far more valuable to humankind than the neocommunist WHO and their loyal followers in the Biden administration. At various places and times, salt was as valuable in trade as gold.

Newsflash to WHO: every person on the planet is going to die and there is nothing WHO can do about it.
Actually WHO doesn’t care about people. It is all about control.

Good Lord is there nothing too petty for them to try and regulate? One of my sisters is a salt lover. To see her shake salt on a slice of pizza is a sight to behold. I don't care for a lot of salt. But when I want it, I want it and the WHO can go pound sand.

There are many different types of salt, all with varying sodium content. If the WHO were more interested in world health than they are authoritarian proclamations about what people should or shouldn’t eat they would research this and make some healthy recommendations. They cannot control what people do except through fear.

BTW #23. They are going after water. Read an article that too many chemicals have been found in our water. Has to be purified. Bet H2O will cost more and be rationed. Along with salt. Gas stoves. Gasoline. Oil. Natural gas for heating. Meat. Eggs. Air coolant for AC’s. Notice how all these regulations are for our own good? Will keep us alive longer. But get a covid booster every five months!

I got out of the hospital last week. Unbeknownst to me, the doctor put me on a heart healthy diet. No salt on ANYTHING!! Grits without salt is wallpaper paste. Mashed potatoes without salt are thicker wallpaper paste. Scrambled eggs without salt are not worth the calories or effort to choke them down. French fries without salt are also not worth the calories or effort to chew them. After a few days, I had my dad smuggle me a salt shaker so I could actually taste something. It was bordering on ridiculous!!
I am a responsible adult who is plenty able to monitor my own salt intake!! They will get my pink sea salt only out of my cold dead hands!!!

If you have congestive heart failure and or high blood pressure, high salt intake can be lethal over time. The amount of sodium in prepared foods, canned foods and restaurant food is actually staggering.
I don't need the government to step in and regulate salt content. I just wish that we had more low sodium alternatives. But there's a reason for all of that salt. Salt makes stuff taste soooo much better.
Before I spent a week in the hospital with congestive heart failure....I was a salt fiend. And I really miss bacon.

It would be the first time they cared about the health of the people. If up to them we would be eating green, so a little salt will help the taste.

FTA: Research shows that there is a direct relationship between sodium consumption and blood pressure, for example, increased sodium consumption is associated with increased blood pressure.
No. I remember when they did a big 'Ooops. Nevermind' about that. Here's one of the articles. ten years ago is enough for some people to forget....not me.
