Two United Airlines planes were involved in a slow-speed collision at Boston Logan International Airport on Monday. It came a week after at the same airport a JetBlue pilot was forced to take 'evasive action' when Learjet 60 crossed the runway when it was preparing to land. It happened as one airliner was being pushed backwards out of its bay and its right wing fouled on the horizontal stabilizer at the rear of an adjacent plane. The incident occurred just before 9am and required United Airlines to disembark all passengers so the the two flight could be rescheduled using different aircraft. When Pete gets back from his relax-cation, he should look into the recurring airline fiascos. Hard to believe that hiring practices don't have something to do with it. Next time I'm taking Norfolk and Southern Railway.

Too many straight, white, Christian, MAGA pilots. We need more pilots like Sam Brinford (if we could find a black Brinford, all-the-better). Sam is already in the airports, just put him behind the yoke. Not a yoke, man...

And this will continue as long as they can "include" everyone. Diversity is the most important qualification. There's power there. (at least that's what they tell us) This is the price we pay to be WOKE.

I work in the field of aviation. Not airplanes but the infrastructure related to them. The Covid lockdowns and especially the vaccine mandates hit this industry hard! Much harder than anyone realizes. They lost a tremendous number of very experienced people and those experienced people that are returning are simply out of practice and they are having to work with much less experienced personnel They are rusty. The entire industry and it's supporting infrastructure was knocked down. They have not yet pulled themselves together. You can expect to see more of this.

I wonder if some of these close calls have anything to do with the Guys in the Towers. We all suspect it is Pilot error, but they take their direction from the Air Traffic Controllers. Would be interesting to dig into what happened in some of those Close Calls!

More drugs and booze for the pilots? They'd still have wing clipping, but they wouldn't care. Did we suddenly quit blaming Air Traffic Controllers?

They used to require wing walkers in close aircraft movement locations....I guess they are "saving money" not having them now. I'll bet that the wingtip repair costs would cover wing walker salaries for a few years. Stupid move by someone not having wing walkers.

This is so confusing. Preparing to land. Crossed the runway. Pushed back from it's gate. This is as hard to read as an article about transgenders where the pronouns are all confused. Behind the gate is not the runway, it's a tarmac. Taxi way is not the runway. Being pushed back is not landing. The runway can technically be called a tarmac but usually they don't. There is so much confusion in this article that I am confused. I'm changing my pronouns right now to tarmac/taxiway.

CNN used misleading data from the Gun Violence Archive to claim Monday “the U.S. has surpassed 100 mass shootings in 2023.” CNN noted, “America reached the grim number by the first week of March.” Both CNN and the Gun Violence Archive departed from the standard definition for mass shootings, which the Rand Corporation observed as being derived from the FBI’s 1980s definition of a “mass murderer” of an individual who “kills four or more people in a single incident (not including himself).” But for CNN and the Gun Violence Archive, an incident with no fatalities is still a mass shooting. This means labels like drive-by shootings, gang hits

Muhammad was the most popular baby name in Galway, Ireland’s fourth-largest city, last year, the country’s government has confirmed. A report released by Ireland’s Central Statistics Office (CSO) on Friday has revealed that “Muhammad” has risen to become the most popular name for newborn babies in one of the country’s major cities. The statistic sees Ireland join the likes of France, England, Sweden, and many other European countries, which have all seen the popularity of the name surge amid record immigration from Islamic countries over the last two-to-three decades. It now appears that Ireland is on the same path as its European neighbours as it pursues mass migration policies,

Brian Covey, who was a substitute teacher for Duval County Public Schools (Jacksonville area), was told his services would no longer be needed after he posted a video making it seem as if the Mandarin Middle School library had been emptied out. For the first time, the ‘unsafe and ineffective’ COVID-19 vaccine was formally added to the routine immunization schedule for both children and adolescents by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) on Thursday. It is common knowledge that COVID-19 poses no threat to young children, that mRNA vaccinations against the virus are not effective or safe and that some people have even died after receiving a COVID vaccine. But the CDC and its advisory council continue to push for childhood vaccinations despite all these facts. Back in October 2022, the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), which provides advice and guidance to the Director of the CD
