A proposed Oregon bill would provide the deep blue state’s homeless population $1,000 per month that recipients could use at their own discretion.
The bill, introduced last month, would establish a People’s Housing Assistance Fund Demonstration Program to give 12 monthly thousand-dollar payments to those suffering from homelessness or who are on the brink of becoming homeless.
“Payments may be used for rent, emergency expenses, food, child care or other goods or services of the participant’s choosing,” the bill states.
People who spend more than 50 percent of their monthly household income on rent, and those who earn 60% or less of the area median income would also be eligible for the funding.
That is more than I get on social security after paying for medicare and I worked my whole life.

#1, me,too. I wasted all those years working for that miserly amount, sigh. Wish someone would throw me an extra $1k for the co-pay on my prescription drugs.

And printed money covers it, but printed money lowers the value of outstanding money, so it is a tax in the form of a value transfer.

Is it any wonder some Oregon counties want out of Oregon? They should make their own state though.

I might start a little delivery business in Portland selling MD2020. Shoot… maybe I’ll sell Dom Perignon in fluted crystal. Yeah that’s the ticket.

When you elect left wing morons to run your state, county, or city this is what you get. Most of These so-called “homeless “ should be involuntary committed to mental facilities and the veterans with PTSD taken care of properly.

They’ll buy more drugs and overdose more quickly. Will they buy food? Some will. Those addicted to drugs will not.

If you are a bum that's quite an inticement to head for Oregon. One of the things I hate about Social Security is it's taken from you as you work and when you retire you get a monthly check which should be money being returned to you. But the feds consider it income and tax it at 85%. It used to not be taxed but Quid Pro Joe when he was a senator got a bill passed to tax it at 50%. Then it was upped to 85%. So on Social Security you are double taxed.

It is really a population reduction and control program. Many people will die from drug overdoses right away. That means the government will save millions on social security Medicare and Medicare and welfare in the long run. Nice. Make it $2000.

That's how you keep the homeless, homeless. Give them a financial incentive and a way to game the system.

Un-freaking-believable. But then that is the Oregon democrat party for you. I guess the only ones who don't know that money is going to go to booze, drugs, and other things are the democrats in the legislature. A high percentage of those 'homeless' don't want to live inside a residence. They prefer their freedom.

Oregon is a lost cause. They flail around with one loser liberal idea after another that all crash and make the problems worse. Ignorant woke ideology at its worst. Does anyone really care about these people anymore?

Spending the people who work's money on those who won't work.
Taxpayers money being tossed in the trash.
I predict the homeless population in Oregon will double when this starts.

Once again, if you want less of something, tax it. If you want more of something subsidize it.
Liberals never learn. Nor do their voters. There is a reason San Francisco is awash in homeless people.
