Diversity, equity and inclusion leaders, who were hired in waves to help companies achieve an ethnically balanced workforce after George Floyd’s murder in 2020, are being phased out, surveys indicate, leaving experts in the field concerned that corporations’ talk of affecting change was just empty words.
DEI roles increased by 55% following demands for broader racial equity and justice after Floyd’s murder, the Society for Human Resource Management reported in 2020. But instead of creating fair opportunities and a comfortable work culture for Black employees, a pair of recent reports indicate, DEI professionals are losing their jobs, as layoffs across the economy have gained momentum.

I want the experienced and qualified no matter whom they are. Diversity in and of itself means absolutely when those job qualifications are ignored. There are no prizes for having the dumbest employees but all the "other" boxes are checked.

Boo freakin’ boo! Companies are getting rid of totally useless people. HR or personnel people are always the first ones to go in a downsizing anyway, but DIE is a fraud anyway and companies know it.

Its cheaper to hire a scam artist than to have your business burned down. I seem to remember reading about "tokens"; black people who were hired to sit by the door so people could see that the business hired blacks. That was their only job. This seems to be something like that.

Maybe Company Leader have figured out instead of hiring DEI or EEG or whoever the Lettered People represent, what they really NEED in their Company to succeed are workers who actually are QUALIFIED to do the Job! Back in the 80's CEO's were forced to hire a "Quota" of Black people. We all know how that went. I worked at the Joint Commission at that time and I can tell you that those "Quota Employees were the ones who called in sick every Monday and Friday! Without fail! And they were never called on the Carpet for it because Supervisors were not "allowed" to reprimand them! The whole Quota plan fell through because a successful Business needs Qualified workers to keep the place running smoothly! This is exactly why DEI has failed just as the Quota idea failed! What needs to be done is Schools need to TEACH. If a Black Student doesn't want to learn, and wants to hang with their Gang instead, we can't force them to be good employees! They have to LEARN and do the work, just like the White Kids do! It's not Rocket Science!

This is happening sooner than I thought. CEOs look at their bottom lines and eventually the dead weight shows up as a glaring red number. Either every person who wants to work and was hired through DEI is already employed or they have not worked out as the golden benefit promised by the DEI people or the company can trace its lower productivity directly to the practice. I fell under pressure to hire one of "them" on the sole basis of melanin content and he didn't last a year. He spent more time on his cell phone than he did on his computer. I'm also wondering whether Mensa has fired its DEI director, which is a joke in itself that they didn't seem to get.

Diversity, equity and inclusion means zero job skills. Paying people for nothing is a recipe for disaster and that's what companies were getting. The only ones surviving are the ones working for the govt where performance and job skills are the last thing they look at. Just look at the Biden administration, a total freak show, and not one is qualified for the jobs they hold.
