The Air Force has relieved six leaders assigned to a North Dakota base in charge of nuclear missiles and bombers over a loss of confidence, the military branch said Monday.
Maj. Gen. Andrew J. Gebara, commander of 8th Air Force, relieved Col. Gregory Mayer of the 5th Mission Support Group and Maj. Jonathan Welch of the 5th Logistics Readiness Squadron, both based at Minot Air Force Base. The Air Force didn't identify the commanders, but an Air Force spokesperson confirmed their identities to Task & Purpose. (Photos) "These personnel actions were necessary to maintain the very high standards we demand of those units entrusted with supporting our Nation's nuclear mission,"

Why is something like this released to the press? There is much that has been left unsaid.

Something really wrong here to have so many officers taken out at one time. Hard to believe they all could not perform their duties having worked through the chain of command over the years. One or two maybe. Definitely something going on here. Likely has nothing to do with their competency.

Could be something similar to the mishandling of nuclear weapons incident that happened at Minot in 2007.

When military high-ups lose confidence in the guys below them, I think the high-ups are afraid of a coup.

With winds of up to 48 mph this afternoon in the midsouth, one could almost smell the flop sweat wafting eastward from Minot. Who is in charge of Wagging the Dog?

Was Minot one of the facilities visited by the ChiCom spy balloon? If so, the timing is highly suggestive. I cannot imagine that they were axed because they secured the base too tightly.

I was never assigned to a flying squadron, but when I saw big shots relieved for vague reasons it usually involved young barely legal airgirls.

Hmmm, could be they disagreed with the WH about all the munitions heading to Ukraine? So the only loss of
confidence they might be guilty of is their superiors cannot trust them to obey orders they know are rotten.

I can't shake the feeling -based on absolutely no information at all- that they are purging the command structure of traditional Americans ane replacing them with 'woke' left-wingers.
Again, just a gut feeling.... based on looking at the clown-car load of freaks and perverts surrounding The HairSniffer.

Must not be of the right political party or expressed an opinion about the the current administration. In the last 10 years how many military leaders have been relieved of duty by the liberal administrations?

The AF Commanders more than likely said no to going woke with the Nuclear forces at Minot etal. The Biden administration is doing its best to fubar everything in America, even our nuclear defense forces. We are being fubared by Joey Baby.

I for one have lost all confidence in the Air Force! When you have the likes of Lt Gen Clark forcing CRT and such down the throats of Cadets in Colorado Springs, there is no reason whatsoever to trust anything about the greater institution. NO America-loving and patriotic institution would tolerate such abuse of its future. I gotta figure these relieved officers are among the very best in the Air Force but refused to succumb to the treasonous dictatorship of the Chiefs of Staff!

All you have to do at a nuke site is to sit there, watch monitors and fill out reports. I would guess that the reasons for firing were purely political.

Which means they were probably American loving republicans to be replace by some politically correct activists more in line with the Biden/Obama administration. Which means they will be totally unqualified for their positions.
