Ahead of a meeting with several other world financial leaders, United States Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen called on partner nations to join in continuing to send more aid to Ukraine as the Russian invasion enters its second year. “Our economic assistance is making Ukraine’s resistance possible by supporting the home front: funding critical public services and helping keep the government running,” Yellen said at a news conference in India. “In the coming months, we expect to provide around $10 billion in additional economic support for Ukraine.” More via Reuters: Yellen is to join other finance ministers and heads of central banks from the Group of 20 nations on Friday

Print it up, Janet. Crank up that Monopoly Money Making Machine. You think stuff is expensive now (especially groceries and energy) just you wait. Dems won't go to the border, or Ohio but watch them rush MORE MONEY, MORE BILLIONS to Ukraine. I can't help but wonder what do they have on FJB and Hunter? There is something, somewhere, in a safe place, that would blow this manure pile of an Administration skyhigh. Billions sent, some spent, but a lot has gone into pockets and bank accounts of the elite. We couldn't handle the covid money. What makes me think that this will be handled correctly? Nothing does. And way too many Republicans are on board. I want a list of their names so I can be sure I never support any of them.

For tax year 2022 I paid the feds around $ 25k. With another $ 10 billion along with the $ 500 million The Vegetable announced yesterday that brings the total for the US to Ukraine $ 118.5 billion. If my taxes were the only source for the Ukraine money down a rathole it would take me 4.74 million year to pay for this stupid war. ENOUGH. When in the history of the United States did the US government spend $118 billion (not counting how much has been given by other countries) for 20 million people where out of that number only perhaps 2000 to 3000 actually saw one red cent? This is outright theft of our money to support some neoconservatives wetdream.

Better late than never! President Joe Biden on Friday directed federal agencies to go door-to-door in East Palestine, Ohio, starting Saturday, to check on families affected by the toxic train derailment. Under Biden’s order, teams from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Environmental Protection Agency and Federal Emergency Management Agency will visit homes.  Workers will ask how residents are doing, see what they need and connect them with appropriate resources from government and nonprofit organizations, the White House said. The 'walk teams' are modeled on similar teams following hurricanes and other natural disasters.

"The world is expected to remain dependent upon oil and natural gas as transitional energy sources until the world can produce enough quantities of green energy," Foothills said. "Natural gas in particular will play a bigger role on a global scale providing clean, reliable and abundant energy to nations for years to come." The company on Friday announced it closed on the acquisition of Jubilee Exploration, based in Oklahoma.

The Democrats are in trouble if they run Joe Biden again in 2024. As I wrote the other day, he’s already put us in terrible trouble with his handling of things. He’s already deteriorated so much — and by the time he has to campaign in 2024, he’ll be in even worse shape. But unfortunately for the Democrats, their alternatives are not great. Among those alternatives is Biden’s “second” — Kamala Harris, known for her word salads and her cackles, but not much else. Indeed, it would be hard to point to one solid achievement that she’s had since she came into office.

At some point, the Republican Party forgot what it was and began its descent into becoming “Democrat Lite.” This was no more apparent when Republican leadership decided that it was going to go along with the Democrat’s 11th-hour Omnibus bill that read more like the Democrat Party’s Christmas wish list. It didn’t help that Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell named the Republican Party’s number one priority as being, not economic stability, national security, or even law and order, but making sure Ukraine was well funded in the war against Russia. Needless to say, GOP voters were about one pitchfork shy of an angry mob.
