The New York Times acknowledged in a recent report that the Biden administration’s claims that former President Donald Trump’s administration was responsible for the train derailment in East Palestine, Ohio, due to it rolling back a rail safety rule was inaccurate.
“The White House has pushed back on such criticism from Republicans, accusing both the Trump administration and Republican lawmakers of dismantling the Obama-era rail safety measures meant to prevent episodes like the East Palestine derailment,” the Times report said.
“According to the website PolitiFact, a rail safety rule repealed as part of a broad regulatory rollback under the Trump administration would have had no impact

Trump's rail safety concerned only those rail cars carrying crude oil which had nothing to do with the derailment in Ohio. The derailment wasn't a brake issue, it was an issue with the wheel overheating and the operator of the train ignoring the warnings of the overheating.

It is not surprising that Butt Pete doesn't know the regulations he is quoting to blame 45 for the East Palestine derailment. After all, the Secretary of Transportation shouldn't know the regulations for transporting goods across America, right? Wrong. Butt Pete displayed his total ignorance and incompetence in East Palestine. Butt Pete is a walking Peter Principle. The only thing Butt Pete is capable of is fake lactation.

None of the actions taken by Donald Trump since he walked down that escalator so long ago has had a negative impact on the people of this country but the leftists keep lining them up and we keep knocking them down. When people say to me, "yeah, but the mean tweets..." I get the urge to start punching. The Demented Delaware Doofus does more damage in a week than Donald Trump ever did but most of the media still visualize clothes on the emperor.

If this totally incompetent, unqualified jerk had any shame at all he would stop his ‘blame Trump’ media tour immediately. He was no doubt fed this information by an equally unqualified political hack on his staff. He has no knowledge of his own to fall back on nor has he bothered to acquire any.

Since NYT has decided to debunk this claim I suppose this could possibly be reported in other newspapers around the country. My paper regards NYT as "gospel" ; most of what they choose to "report" comes from them. So there's a small hope in me that this info gets out to more people, especially to those who still regard NYT as "bastions of truth". Gullible as they are.

Did Mayor Buttegig look into the PVC pipe bomb found on railroad tracks in PA. Did mayor Buttigig check out the plane crash that killed 5 men in Arkansas at the Clinton airport. Four of the men were flying to Bedford Ohio to check out the reason for the explosion at the metals plant. Which has some connection to the Same train line that derailed in East Palestine. Oh that train just so happen to derail right over a drain that empty’s out into the Ohio river. Another minor detail. The pellets Shoujd have been drained from the cars instead of burned. The EPA decided to set the wrecked cars on fire.
Oh. Those 4 men that were killed in the plane crash, were also suppose to travel to E Palenstien to check out chemicals in the environment there. All just coincidental.

Bottom line - PB and Joe have had over 2 years to fix a problem if it existed. Do not blame Trump for the big rail company's contributions to Joe's campaign that influenced Joe's decision on public safety vs his election desires. Big rail obviously does not care about public safety. Too many meetings behind closed doors between Joe and rail executives for it not to be suspicious. Was it not Jimmy Carter that de-regulated the rail system?

The electronically controlled braking rule was rescinded as a result of a review that began during the Obama administration. The review, a cost-benefit analysis, was mandated by law, and was only completed during the Trump administration. I haven't seen any allegation that the coast-benefit analysis was inaccurate. Even PB seems to acknowledge that revocation of the rule was driven by law, but he puts an anti-Trump spin on it by saying that Trump has failed to support changing the Obama-era law.
Here's the story about the regulatory process: https://www.enotrans.org/article/dot-withdraws-ecp-brake-rule/
