One of the unsavory aspects of our current era is that firing a member of a "protected class" — racial and sexual minorities, plus women of any race — almost inevitably leads to cries of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. When a person is a "twofer" ticking two boxes indicating presumptively oppressed status, you need a bulletproof list of offenses to charge the target with. Don Lemon, the low-rated Black and gay host on CNN, was booted from his prime-time gig to the morning hours and has managed to drive the ratings for CNN This Morning even lower than the cable net previously had scored in those hours.

Bloomberg, which exists to serve active traders on Wall Street, is throwing shade on the January jobs report that “surprised” a lot of people with its positive numbers. Before addressing the technical factors used to produce the rosy numbers, consider the buried lede hundreds of words into the piece. Stripped of all the technical jargon is this stark reality: "On an unadjusted basis, payrolls actually fell by 2.5 million last month."

Far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene took a below-the-belt shot at one of her congressional colleagues Friday in a spicy Twitter exchange. The Georgia Republican invoked Rep. Eric Swalwell’s (D-Calif.) purported dalliance with suspected Chinese honeytrap Christine Fang, aka Fang Fang, after the California Democrat made a bawdy joke at the expense of Rep. Andrew Clyde (R-Ga.), who has spent the week passing out AR-15-shaped lapel pins to pro-Second Amendment House members.

The Democrats made a big hullabaloo about three of their representatives getting booted from House committees, in, yes, what was political payback for what they started with the bootings of GOP House members from committees in the previous term. As if political payback were entirely foreign to them, they caterwauled about "death threats" in a pathetic bid to either to avoid getting thrown off their committees or else shame them afterwards. Here's Rep. Eric Swalwell howling about death threats just after he was thrown out:

Project Veritas released another breaking story last night featuring Pfizer executive Jordan Trishton Walker. This time, he was caught on camera openly admitting concern about women's cycles and their fertility. As a result, #Pfertility is trending on Twitter. In light of Project Veritas' latest bombshell, we have compiled an array of respected voices speaking out about menstrual and fertility concerns. Doctors, scientists, thought leaders, and women across the globe have been screaming from the rooftops on this subject for years now.
American Students -- Dumber and More Woke replies

Professors often complain about the current crop of students being less intellectually talented than when they began their careers decades back. Such griping is, of course, easy to dismiss -- it has occurred for millennia. Unfortunately, this time around the grumbling may be true and not the usual nostalgia for “the good old days.” The anecdotal evidence from textbook reading levels, shortened college syllabi, scrapbook-like research assignments, proliferating college remedial classes, grade inflation, and the popularity of “gut” college majors such as Gender Studies, is indisputable.

We have a Chinese spy balloon roaming American skies unimpeded, and the Biden White House thinks that’s fine. They were snippy with the press when they asked for more details about the high-altitude spy balloon reportedly launched from central China. Beijing has apologized for breaching our air space, though the reasoning is ridiculous: they claim it blew off course. The incident has caused Secretary of State Antony Blinken to cancel his scheduled visit to the country. It was spotted by passengers on a commercial airliner yesterday. Montana is where this device was first tracked. It’s now somewhere hovering above Kansas.

Upon hearing that there’s at least one Chinese surveillance balloon drifting over the continental United States (as of this writing), and another reportedly over South America, you might picture a payload of advanced electronics snapping high-resolution photos and videos of strategic targets, and communication interception devices snooping on American government, military, and high-tech secrets. Balloons aren’t just for children’s birthday parties—in addition to being highly-efficient surveillance devices, they are also potentially extremely dangerous weapons of war. The only casualties on American soil during the entire Second World War were the six unfortunate souls killed by a Japanese balloon bomb which took over 70 hours

So we begin with a bit of a biographical note. Like many writers at PJ Media, I work from home. There was a knock at my door this morning, and I noticed a police vehicle outside. As we are law-abiding people, that was out of the ordinary. At my door was the animal control officer. That seemed odd since our dogs stay in the backyard and don’t roam around the neighborhood. The issue that warranted said knock on my door was the fact that I had inadvertently left one of our dogs out a little longer than usual.

Before medicine was a science, loved ones would place a bell on top of a grave so that if the doctors made a mistake, the awakened — and presumably terrified — occupant of the grave could alert those close by that the burial had taken place in error. Of course, that doesn’t happen anymore. The medical establishment is far too sophisticated, and far too regulated, for a terrible mistake like that to happen. Nowadays we have machines that tell us when we’re dead. And not just when we’re merely dead, but when we’re really, really, sincerely dead.
