Big Apple crime was too much for this mama to “bear.”
The heroic Bronx mother who landed on The Post’s front page as “Mama Bear” — when she ferociously fought off the creep who sucker-punched her 4-year-old son in Times Square — has fled the city with her three cubs.
On Jan. 27, nearly a year after the horrifying Feb. 17 attack on her son Angel, Rafaela Rivera and her husband, Federico, loaded Angel, now 5, Carmen, 18, and Federico Jr., 15, into their red Toyota Scion and headed south to the “calmer” environs of Myrtle Beach, SC.

As a true Southerner, I have very mixed feelings. I’m glad she and her family have escaped crime-infested Democrat run NY. But, I fear she won’t connect the dots why she left and vote for Democrats in South Carolina.
Democrats support evil. Period. Democrats are evil for what they support.
Even if she and all the other millions who are fleeing the North to c9me down here vote right, they are changing our culture —and not for the better. We are Southerners. We have a distinct culture that we like. But the Yankee invasion is destroying our culture. And I truly hate it.

In SC she can get a permit and some training and really be able to protect herself and her kids.

How did they get 5 people in a Toyota Scion?
Like #1 said...I have a place about 8 miles south of MB and to say it has changed in the last few years would be a gross understatement.

All you Southerners need to get the ham and grits, blacked eyed peas and a banjo on your knees; the coach-and-4 coming down the oak lined lane bringing pralines and Aunt Pittypat in white gloves and Big Daddy waving from the veranda sipping on a bourbon and smoking a Havana in his white linen suit and Panama hat - you need to forget those old Southern images. They’re gone and they aren’t coming back. But, you should never, ever let the greedy, grubby, Socialist, supercilious, pseudo-intellectual snobs who have fouled their own nests come down and do it to yours. You have made something beautiful and you are entitled to keep it. The Rivera family are welcome anywhere they can stand on their own two feet and support themselves. But wherever they and other New Yorkers go they must leave New York in New York. It is a failed city and nobody else wants any part of it.

#4 obviously knows NOTHING about Southern culture. Your stereotype was insulting and shows gross hatred and ignorance.
The South I grew up in was genteel. The pace was slower. People spoke to each other. We got along pretty much, no matter your skin color—until Yankee Liberals told us how backward, stupid and ‘raysees’ we are.
We didn’t honk the car horn 1/2 second after a light changed. We didn’t automatically flip each other off. We didn’t speak with God awful nasal and ear-destroying accents. We left our door unlocked. We ate and enjoyed grits—with or without your disdain.
Not all Yankee transplants are bad people. Many are my friends, but they will never be Southerners.
The South has been a special place during most of my lifetime. We are losing it—and that horrible change has been forced on us by Yankees. Sorry, but that is the way it is. You can hate on me all you want—we are used to it. You Leftists have been hating on us for for so long that quite frankly, we just don’t give a damn.

#5, with all due respect, you misunderstand me. I was having perhaps a little too much fun with words and imagery but I am very much an admirer of Southern culture. I envy the hospitality and slower pace and the destruction of Southern history and it’s relics angers me. I am an unrepentant Trump supporter and conservative. I am sorry my words came across as flippant and disrespectful.

I wish them luck at Myrtle Beach. I'd rather be locked in the lions cage than down there parts of the year but, if it is a "calmer" environ than what they're accustomed to, have at it.

The Southern way of life is still a beautiful thing. I remember when I traveled to Arizona (en route to San Diego) as a Marine wife for the first time back in the late eighties. I was devastated to learn that everyone didn't put sugar in their iced tea. Then, I couldn't find grits anywhere. Family members could only visit us in Arizona and other places if they brought NC barbecue, hush puppies, and my granny's apple jacks. My grandmother made the best fried chicken, chicken pastry (ever heard of that one?), apple jacks (not fritters or pies), sweet potato pie (not pumpkin) chicken salad, chocolate cake, carrot cake, biscuits, grits with red-eye gravy. . . The chicken, pork, and all the veggies and fruit came from our yard. We had the best plum trees and muscadine grape vines.Yum, yum. Lazy days of summer were spent with my aunt who loved to fish. She fished, we played. As kids we could be gone exploring in the woods for hours. The only problem our parents seemed to have with us being gone so long was how dirty we were when we returned home. In the South, everybody is sir or ma'am until they tell you to refer to them otherwise. Even though your parents would give you that try it if you want to look. Good living.
