It sure looks like CNN is greasing the
skids under Don Lemon, preparing to dump him

One of the unsavory aspects of our current era is that firing a member of a "protected class" — racial and sexual minorities, plus women of any race — almost inevitably leads to cries of racism, sexism, homophobia, etc. When a person is a "twofer" ticking two boxes indicating presumptively oppressed status, you need a bulletproof list of offenses to charge the target with. Don Lemon, the low-rated Black and gay host on CNN, was booted from his prime-time gig to the morning hours and has managed to drive the ratings for CNN This Morning even lower than the cable net previously had scored in those hours.

Comments:

CNN hasn't provided much evidence that they are a changed, chastened network dedicated to reporting the news. They're not. But pulping the Loud Lemon would be a start.

Leftism creates monsters. Their policies produce more crime, sexual deviancy, cheating, dishonesty, hatred, and violence, etc. There's a viral video of a boy on a school bus just pummeling a little girl, and everybody acts as if there's nothing that can or should be done about it. The parent was told to transfer her children to another school. If you watch the video, you can't help but think of when the left removed God from schools and the results of that over the decades. It's a terrible world that they've produced without full blown communism; imagine how awful things will be with it.

I read the headline and few thoughts came to mind I read the first few sentences of the column and those same thoughts were in print. I would LOL, but it defines the current bizarre reality we live in, where hoops must be jumped through to terminate a perennial low performer because they of a 'protected class'. Whatever happened to our meritocracy?

Since its low energy announcement a few months ago, the 2024 Donald Trump presidential campaign has been a non-stop clusterfark of dinner dates with neo-Nazis, cavorting with the Conservative, Inc., likes of Lindsey Graham, disappointing fundraising, relitigating the 2020 election, and generating lame nicknames for a rival who is right on his Gucci’s heels. For his fans, it has been a festival of cognitive dissonance, as the OnlyTrumpers shriek that RON DESANTIS LOVES PAUL RYAN! and then excuse the photos of Trump literally endorsing Paul Ryan as some sort of 4-D chess or a cunning ploy to “keep his enemies closer.” On social media, there are a lot of conservatives

Happy Monday, dear Kruiser Morning Briefing friends. (Snip) If the Chinese balloon thing was a mini dress rehearsal for World War III, we may want to form some Mandarin study groups. Those of us who live here in reality have long dreaded finding out how the cabal that runs Joe Biden’s brain would react to any kind of international tension. The way Team Pudding Brain went about things these last several days wasn’t a comfort. My colleagues were all over it, so let’s peruse some of what they covered. As Joe Biden faces the fallout of his poor handling of the Chinese spy balloon, the effort to rewrite history is already underway. Soon after the balloon was shot down on Saturday, Biden claimed the order to shoot it down was given on Wednesday. “I ordered the Pentagon to shoot it down on Wednesday as soon as possible,” Biden told reporters. “They decided without doing any damage to people on the ground, they decided that the best time to do that was when it got over water outside within a 12 mile limit.” “I told them to shoot it down on Wednesday,” Biden later added, clearly wanting to make sure that this factoid

After a U.S Air Force F-22 Raptor shot down the Chinese surveillance balloon with a sidewinder missile on Saturday, Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin issued an alternative-universe statement in which he lauded Joe Biden’s commitment to “always put the safety and security of the American people first.” No, really. We’ll get back to that silliness in a bit. Austin began by suggesting the “commander in chief” — I put that in quotes because Biden is pretty much not the commander of anything — was in charge from the outset. This afternoon, at the direction of President Biden, U.S. fighter aircraft assigned to U.S. Northern Command successfully brought down the high-altitude surveillance balloon

The balloon wasn’t taken out when it first entered American airspace on Jan. 28, off the waters of Alaska. That was when you would think Biden would take the “water shot,” but the military said they didn’t have it. Then it went over Alaska, where there are huge expanses of unoccupied land. Again, no shot. It went over Canada and then entered the U.S. again on Tuesday, January 31. According to White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, that’s when Biden was apprised of what was going

Three years after the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, it’s not uncommon to see people wearing masks in public. I try not to judge people when I see someone wearing a mask; after all, the person may have a legitimate need to wear a mask. But what I’ve noticed is that there seem to be a lot of healthy younger people — teenagers and people in their early 20s — who wear masks often, and I have a difficult time understanding it. I’ve had a theory about this phenomenon for some time. I think some people like to keep masking because it makes them feel anonymous. I’m convinced that some people

What we are witnessing in Ukraine, and perhaps in a future conflict in Taiwan, is a new model for fighting Cold War 2, one in which the belligerents tacitly agree to fight but only within designated foreign borders. The process of delimiting the allowable combat area has so far been a complex exercise in signaling. For example, former Russian president Dmitry Medvedev recently tried to draw some Red Lines: “If Ukraine tries to strike at Crimea, there will be retaliatory strikes, all Ukraine remaining under Kyiv’s rule will burn. The response in the event of strikes in the Crimea and deep into Russia will be quick, tough and convincing.

There are sites which regularly publish President Biden’s verbal gaffes. When he’s not hiding in his basement these perilous days, those gaffes are one of the few things you can reliably count on. Townhall.com published one Biden flub this week that is among my favorites. BIDEN: "More than half the women in my administration are women." If you doubt the accuracy of this there’s a video they’ve published which captured it. Now that I think of it, given the way that Biden staffed his administration, perhaps this wasn’t a gaffe, but a rare moment of honesty from someone so consistently dissembling over many years that he makes Congressman George Santos look like

The Milley boys at the Pentagon have come up with a new public relations "save" for Joe Biden and his pathetic indecisiveness about a China spy balloon brazenly traversing the continental United States until it was shot down over the Atlantic yesterday. According to the Pentagon's website, defense.gov: The balloon did not pose a military or physical threat. Still its intrusion into American airspace over several days was an unacceptable violation of U.S. sovereignty. The official said Chinese balloons briefly transited the continental United States at least three times during the prior administration. Predictably, the left has seized on that last line and had a field day:

Transportation Secretary and Chasten’s wife — er, husband, Pete Buttigieg, went on NBC’s Meet the Press on Feb. 5 to preview Joe Biden’s State of the Union address. During that appearance, Buttigieg claimed that Joe Biden is just so wildly successful as president that his accomplishments cannot be easily distilled — hence Biden’s low approval ratings. Yes, Mayor Pete actually said Biden is extremely unpopular because he’s too good at his job. Buttigieg rambled out a justification of the Biden administration allowing an apparent Chinese spy balloon to cross the U.S. before shooting it down over the ocean (where, quite conveniently, no one can pick up tell-tale debris as enlightening evidence).

Despite successful nationwide stings to bust dealers, authorities admit there's no end in sight for the epidemic.  The animal sedative Xylazine - known as 'tranq' - is now exacerbating the crisis.
