A high-ranking officer in the United States Air Force has reportedly admitted to federal investigators that he took extremely sensitive classified material and illegally stored it at his home in Florida. (snip) The Daily Beast reported that Federal law enforcement officials were tipped off in early 2017 that he had a flash drive at his home that contained classified material that, if released, “could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security of the United States.”

Spot on poster. Expect many more of these stories trying to muddy the waters. Exception here though is most of these offenders had top secret clearances or higher in order to view this material, Not so the drug addled Hunter Biden who sold this info to his business partners. Which IMO equates to treason. They say traitors are motivated by money, sexual compromise or ideology. With Hunter they seems to have hit the trifecta.

The rank of Lt. Col. is not really considered "high ranking" in the big picture, although it's high enough to show the hypocrisy of how the Bidet regime and its MSM lackeys treat the issue of Joes' "Corvette Security."

Should be a court martial as a minimum. Drop him a rank and that will serious impact his retirement

You nailed it OP. How come no one is asking HOW everyone got top secret info OUT? Ted Cruz did an interview where he talks about the safeguards in place and he wonders how classified materials are able to be spirited away, with all of the guards and signing materials in and out?
Trump is the.only one so far with authority to de-classify.

Watch for a pardon to come from ol' Joe. Assuming, of course, that the perp voted Democrat. Especially more than once.

So, in 2017 the Feds knew that an Air Force officer had a flash drive full of top secret info AT HIS HOUSE, and instead of busting him then, they let him RETIRE a year later? This thing stinks like a whorehouse at low tide.

In accordance with the duel politicized system of justice that appears to currently prevail in the USA, chances are while anyone connected to the DC UniParty will skate; while any other person, who violates the same law, including this Lieutenant Colonel that the UniParty considers to be just another Smurf, will be sent down the tubes.

#3, why stop at one? Bust him to buck private before a court martial for 'illegally' taking and storing classified material at his home? Enough joking around, he will not suffer any consequences because lawbreaking is becoming the norm in this country. If you don't agree with a law just ignore it.

None of these people have the declassification authority that President Trump held. Everyone in theses articles, especially Biden are guilty of felonies, President Trump is not guilty by law. These are apples to oranges comparisons, betting on the general publics ignorance about classified information laws.

I don't know all of the details of this case nor trump, bidet, pence but I can speak from experience that too much stuff gets classified out of bring overly cautious, convenience, ignorance and personal (malfeasance) protection. If you aren't certain it should be secured then classify it. It is easy to classify something but difficult to declassify it. It reminds me of the final scene in Raiders of the Lost Ark. There is likely "classified" stuff in filing cabinets from the Wilson era. I found a record of my dad's WWII battalion. It was classified Secret but was declassified in ? 1989. It was HISTORY There was nothing current nor sensitive in it. Good thing the Krauts didn't know what they had been up against 44 years prior.

Everybody doesn't do it. There are people in prison for mishandling classified documents. Unless Biden, Pence, etal get the same treatment, the law is not equally applied in America. LC Birchum can be recalled and courts martialed, and should be. He knows better and flaunted the laws and policies of the US.

So, when are we going to hear from and about Mitch McConnel that he 'accidentally' took a couple of truckloads of classified material to China??? After all, he has to make regular 'visits' to his 'Charity' over there and possibly bring 'requested' material for the Commie chief XI???

Democrats are excellent at muddying the waters. Expect more of the same so democrats can say, see this isn’t so bad, lots of people are guilty. We just need to fix it and move on. Additionally, they will never possess the self-awareness to understand that the American people can see right through their little narrative. I don’t believe anyone has ever done what the Biden’s have done, at least, not in my memory.

How the blazes did he get classified info on a flash drive when government computers, NIPR and especially SIPR, have all their USB ports disabled?
You have to WORK to get classified info on a flash drive and it is no accident.
