University’s Ban On Cheating, Plagiarism
‘Unfairly Targets’ Minority Students,
Ivy Leaguer Claims

A Princeton University student argued in a Sunday night opinion article that the school’s Honor Code unfairly impacts racial minorities, citing parallels to the U.S. criminal justice system. The Ivy League school’s Undergraduate Honor Code lays out standards for student conduct that all undergraduate students must abide by and prohibits students from plagiarizing or cheating, according to its website. Emilly Santos, author of the op-ed and Princeton University student, likened the code to the United States criminal justice system to propose that it “disadvantages” minority students. (Snip) “FLI students, like many students, are often afraid of disappointing family and friends,”

Comments:

Oh goodie - a new acronym: FLI's - First-generation Low-Income. They apparently should be allowed to cheat.

Because MLK was a plagiarist, I suppose. What they are saying is that blacks have criminal tendencies that they can't control, and it is unfair to ask them to follow the laws that we all follow?

In order to avoid cheating claims the university should just award degrees to all incoming FLI's. Then the "Honor Code" will remain in effect for the remaining students. The FLI's will then be able to seek high level government positions well in advance of the regular students who will struggle with loans and Master's degree pursuits.

Thomas Sowell has long said that putting minority students who are not academically prepared for rigorous demands at top universities is doing them no favor. Unfortunately the top student at a high school where only 15% of students can read at an 8th grade level is not prepared for the rigors of top schools. Sowell argues that they would be better off at lower tier Universities where they would do well. I believe something like less than 50% of minority students do well enough to graduate. They leave without a degree and in debt. Now the left says the answer is to let them cheat. The dumbing down institutions is their answer to everything. Equity is the goal not excellence.

Well this worked for criminal activity; minorities' who commit a disproportionate amount of crime claimed they were unfairly targeted by law enforcement because they were minorities, called it systemic racism. As a result they now get to shoplift at will, pay no bail, be set free from jail, or not even prosecuted. If that is any precursor we will soon see cheating and plagiarism approved for minority students.

Not sounding educated, they assume he isn’t and by extension isn’t smart. But in recent weeks Trump has been acting as if he is stupid, and I have to say I am surprised. Trump has been attacking Ron DeSantis on the COVID lockdown issue, arguing that the governor’s reputation as a freedom fighter is unearned. Trump even implies that DeSantis was something of a COVID fascist, while Trump himself was fighting to reopen the American economy. That is a profoundly stupid line of attack.

For as much as politicians love the clever soundbites they spew to the salivating press, it is downright amazing how they forget that the internet is forever the moment they deliver them. Take former South Carolina Governor and ex-United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley, who is expected to officially announce her bid for the White House on Feb. 15. It’s a move Newsmax host Greg Kelly called a “big, big, big mistake” given her previous remarks. (Video)“This is Nikki Haley and she thinks she can be president,” Kelly began. “Wow big, big, big mistake,” he said. “I mean, these career politicians, right? They really stand for nothing,

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) has reportedly pulled dissenter Sen. Rick Scott (R-FL) from the important Commerce Committee, which could be interpreted as retaliation for challenging his leadership bid. Further lending credibility to the retaliation theory, McConnell also pulled Sen. Mike Lee (R-UT) from the Commerce Committee. Lee supported Scott’s bid to oust McConnell at the time. “People told me not to run for Republican Leader against Mitch McConnell. They said I wouldn’t win. I knew it was going to be hard. But we’ve got to start somewhere,” Scott said in an ad released in early January. “We are on the road to woke socialism

Because the vax is set to hit the consumer market and the government will no longer fully subsidize the multinational corporation’s profits, it’s time to move some “safe and effective” product into the private sector. To that end, Pfizer produced a bizarre TV ad featuring, fittingly, convicted felon Martha Stewart. The ad opens in a kitchen with Martha sharpening a samurai sword. “You know that unwelcome guest everyone wishes would just leave already? That’s COVID-19,” she says. [Video] “That’s why I got the new, updated booster designed to help protect against recent omicron variants,” she continues as she points the sword menacingly at the viewer.

The Pentagon is tracking a suspected Chinese high-altitude surveillance balloon over the continental United States, a senior defense official said on Thursday. The Pentagon has been tracking the balloon for several days as it made its way over the northern United States, Pentagon spokesman Brig. Gen. Patrick Ryder said. He added that the US military decided against shooting the balloon down. "The balloon is currently traveling at an altitude well above commercial air traffic and does not present a military or physical threat to people on the ground," Ryder said.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., angrily hit back at congressional Republicans during a raucous speech on the House floor Thursday in response to a vote to boot Rep. Ilhan Omar, D-Minn., off the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The New York Democratic lawmaker declared to her fellow members that the GOP was "targeting women of color" with its vote to oust Omar, which Republicans said was due to past antisemitic and anti-American remarks.
