Florida teachers are being told to make their classroom libraries — and any other books that haven’t been approved by the state — inaccessible to students. The policy was put into place last week in response to HB 1467, which Gov. Ron DeSantis (R-Fla.) signed into law last March. That law established that teachers could not pick books that they say are appropriate for their students based on their own idea of what’s “appropriate.” The teachers are complaining that the state doesn’t trust them to choose only approved literature. And they’re right. And that’s a good thing. I’m pretty much a free-speech absolutist.

Archaeologists in Norway announced on Jan. 17 that they found the world’s oldest rune stone. The flat, square block of brownish sandstone with inscriptions made almost 2,000 years ago may be the first example of writing in Scandinavia. The so-called Svingerud Stone, discovered in a cremation pit filled with burnt bones and charcoal that date between 1 A.D. and 250 A.D., measured 312.2 inches by 12.6 inches. It was uncovered during an excavation of a grave field in the Hole municipality at the Ringerike region, west of the Norwegian capital Oslo.

Last January, Joe Biden set the Democratic base ablaze with the incendiary charge that Republicans were suppressing the votes of minorities. “Jim Crow 2.0 is about two insidious things: voter suppression and election subversion,” Biden told a crowd at Atlanta University. “It’s no longer about who gets to vote; it’s about making it harder to vote. It’s about who gets to count the vote and whether your vote counts at all.” “It’s not hyperbole; this is a fact.” At the time, it was a supposition, not a fact, to claim that the Republican election reforms would suppress the black vote. And as it turns out, it certainly was hyperbole.

Her warm greeting has a way of making customers, both regulars and first-timers, feel as though they belong. “The Sleek Family opened up their doors in November of 1995,” Shaw told me. “I started exactly one year later, and I have been here ever since. As far as I am concerned, it is the best job I could ever hope for. I get to meet new people all the time, see regulars almost every day,

The First Amendment is the bedrock of American liberty. Our citizens have the right, if not civic duty, to engage in open, dynamic discourse, and no government has the right to limit, suppress, censor or otherwise control it. Yet as we dig deeper into discovery in our Big Tech censorship case — Missouri and Louisiana v. Biden — we uncover ever-more truly appalling abuses of power that President Joe Biden’s director of digital strategy, Rob Flaherty, admitted come from “the highest (and I mean highest) levels of the” White House.
Reducing the Deficits of the Federal Government replies

It has again become openly fashionable to rhetorically complain about excessive government spending. One can wax eloquent about the fundamental insincerity of the complaint, but this misses a rather elemental and important point: it is possible to reduce the ongoing deficits of the Federal government. The simple mechanism for doing so is tax cuts.  I have written about this previously, illustrating that every tax cut ever enacted since John F. Kennedy has increased revenue to the Federal government. Now it must be said and almost always is pointed out among critics that in the first year of collection, revenues go down. But what is absolutely clear

Four border crossers, bused from Texas to New York City, were arrested this month after allegedly stealing nearly $12,500 worth of merchandise from a Macy’s department store. On Monday, the Nassau County Police Department in Long Island, New York announced the arrests of 19-year-old Wrallan Cabezas Meza, 30-year-old Jose Garcia Escobar, 21-year-old Miguel Angel Rojas, and 27-year-old Rafael Rojas for allegedly shoplifting at Macy’s. All of the men are newly arrived border crossers who were bused from Texas to New York City as part of Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) plan to send migrant buses to sanctuary jurisdictions.

American hero General Michael Flynn released an emotional video today about American heroes.  General Flynn and President Trump were targeted by the corrupt Deep State and their lives were thrown upside down for standing up for America First. General Flynn was the Deep State’s first target in the Trump Administration. He knew too much so they lied about him and took him down. They used inside swamp monsters who surrounded President Trump and pushed General Flynn out.

In a data dump Friday, the Biden administration announced that more than a quarter million people crossed the border illegally in December – the highest ever recorded. The timing of this release was designed to bury the news, not that it mattered, since the mainstream media have ignored the growing border crisis with fierce determination. But that’s not the worst of it. Border deaths also reached all-time highs. That news is so bad, the “most transparent administration in history” tried to keep it hidden altogether, coughing it up only in response to a Freedom of Information Act request. When that data did come out

MSNBC contributor Jason Johnson claimed Monday on “The 11th Hour” that House Republicans were a “terrorist organization” led by Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA), who has “no love for this country.” Anchor Stephanie Ruhle said, “‘I will never leave that woman.’ Jason that is not a quote from Kevin Costner in the major motion picture The Bodyguard. That is Kevin McCarthy talking about a colleague. What do we do with that?” Johnson said, “It’s one thing to say, that’s my work wife. Right? And it’s something else when you have Stockholm Syndrome. That’s what we have here. This guy’s been beat down by the far-right

A 67-year-old veteran farm worker has killed seven fellow Chinese agricultural laborers in what local news described as a workplace dispute.   Zhao Chunli, who lived in Half Moon Bay, was arrested and is 'fully cooperating' with law enforcement, officials said. The shootings took place at two separate locations in Half Moon Bay, with four shot at a farm run by Concord Farms, and three at Mountain Mushroom Farms two miles away. Officials are unsure which was attacked first. Children were present on the scene at the time, because some of the workers lived on-site with their families.

Smoking gun? Did Hunter Biden receive classified information from Joe Biden on Ukraine and then email the information to his business partner Devon Archer? Joe Biden stored top-secret files with the “sensitive compartmented information” (SCIF) designation at Penn Biden Center in DC (found on Nov. 2). Lawyers discovered more classified documents at Joe Biden’s Delaware home – in the garage next to his Corvette (found on Dec. 20). Additional documents stored in Biden’s library were discovered on January 12 and again on January 20. Hunter Biden had access to the garage where Biden stored some of the classified documents.

What used to be arguably America’s most famous candy became infamous over the course of the last few years as it descended into woke culture as many corporations did, and just like these other corporations, it paid the price. As previously covered by RedState, M&M’s marketing team decided to take the beloved characters and begin changing up how they act and behave. While Red and Yellow were left alone, Green was defeminized so that she wasn’t so obviously a woman, which was offensive to the hard left for some reason. Moreover, they began adding other colors for the various flavors coming out, but they were attached to social messaging

He even testified in front of Congress recently, as someone who has been directly affected by the unchecked violence plaguing American cities. Caldwell also happens to be black,

The change in policy of allowing UAC's into the U.S. was one of the first changes made by the Biden administration, quickly resulting in thousands of unaccompanied minors arriving to the U.S.-Mexico border. The historic number of children coming to the U.S. contributed the border crisis since the number of family units also illegally crossing

Charles McGonigal, a retired counterintelligence investigator from the FBI’s New York Field Office, was just arrested because he allegedly took substantial sums of money from Oleg Deripaska, a Russian billionaire, to get the latter off a U.S. sanctions list. Where this goes beyond the ordinary corruption that periodically crops up among people with too much power, too few morals, and too little accountability is that McGonigal was one of the people investigating Trump over the Russia Hoax, while Deripaska employed Christopher Steele, whose false dossier seeded the Russia Hoax. Anyone who paid attention during the “hot” years of the Russia Hoax recognizes Deripaska’s name.
