Damar Hamlin told Buffalo Bills fans to “keep praying” for him in his first public remarks after he was hospitalized when his heart stopped during a game on Monday. “Putting love into the world comes back 3xs as much,” Hamlin said in a tweet on Saturday. “Thankful for everyone who has reached out and prayed. This will make me stronger on the road to recovery, keep praying for me!” Hamlin, the 24-year-old safety for the Bills, suffered cardiac arrest when he was hit during a game against the Cincinnati Bengals on Monday at Paycor Stadium in Cincinnati, prompting resuscitation on the field.

Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell chimed in late Friday evening to congratulate now-Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy.
McCarthy weathered days of opposition, eventually offering enough concessions to secure the votes needed to break the logjam. Most of the conservatives involved seemed to walk away happy, garnering key positions on committees and rule changes that should bring the House back to some level of sanity.
For his part, McConnell decided to drop the following message, and I’m officially dead. I cease to be alive.(Tweet) I’m not sure there’s anything conservatives despise more than being gaslit by their own leadership, and this is gaslighting of the highest order.

Christian colleges and universities are seeing an increase in enrollment despite the national enrollment rate of college students being on a decline, higher education experts told the Daily Caller News Foundation.
The national undergraduate enrollment rate dropped 1.1% during the fall 2022 semester while the rate declined a total of 4.2% since 2020, according to the National Student Clearinghouse Research Center. Many faith-based institutions, however, saw an increase in enrollment which higher education experts claim is because of these institutions’ commitment to their roots.

President Joe Biden congratulated House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) on being elected to the position Saturday, saying he is ready to work across the aisle in a divided government.
“The American people expect their leaders to govern in a way that puts their needs above all else, and that is what we need to do now,” Biden said in a statement, congratulating him on his speakership.
“As I said after the midterms, I am prepared to work with Republicans when I can and voters made clear that they expect Republicans to be prepared to work with me as well,” he added. “Now that the leadership of the House of Representatives has been decided,

During MSNBC’s coverage of the House Speaker votes on Friday, Rep. Raja Krishnamoorthi (D-IL) reacted to House Speaker Rep. Kevin McCarthy’s (R-CA) speech after being elected Speaker by stating that McCarthy “making it a priority to go after the FBI” is “not a promising indication” of the priorities of House Republicans.
Host Ayman Mohyeldin asked, “Speaking of the work that is about to get underway, we got a glimpse, if you will, of perhaps both the managerial style or the leadership style of Kevin McCarthy, but also the substance of what he wants his conference and this House to do under his leadership in that speech that he gave.

It sure looks like it, based on a new report about his treatment of Facebook founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Investigative reporter Lee Smith has got a stunning report that ran this week in Tablet, comparable in impact to that report by Molly Ball at Time who wrote about how elites conspired to "fortify democracy" by rigging the election against President Trump in 2020 and afterwards thought it was a smart thing to crow about.
Smith's report beginns with how the FBI "hacked" Twitter, not just engaging in a "master-canine" relationship as Twitter files

It’s curious that in one of the reddest states in the nation, which boasts both a Republican governor and a whopping 90 percent GOP majority legislature, the child-mutilation business would be allowed not only to exist but to flourish. Joe Biden’s daytime speech announcing the regime’s purported efforts to clamp down on illegal immigration was roundly ridiculed on social media Thursday as numerous gaffes and prevarications were made public.
There were nearly 2.4 million migrant arrests at the nation’s southwestern border in the 2022 fiscal year, the highest number ever recorded, according to U.S. Border Patrol data released in September, bringing the total to approximately 5.3 million illegal border crossings since Biden took office.
Amid increasing pressure from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to address the border crisis, Biden tried to strike a tough on immigration pose,

President Joe Biden on Thursday announced an agreement with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to send Ukraine armored combat fighting vehicles, a day after France said it would arm Kyiv with light tanks in its war against Russia.

The philosophy of relativism claims that all truth is relative, and that there is no such thing as absolute truth. (Of course, if relativism is true, then based on its own principle it can be dismissed as merely “relative truth,” and is therefore meaningless. If, however, it’s posited as an absolute truth that applies to all things, people, time and places… then it’s an absolute truth, and gives the lie to the idea that truth is relative! Yes, parents, such is the “education” you’re paying for your children to receive in the hallowed halls of academia.)

Consumers can take a lot, but when you start raising prices on staples like eggs and milk, a definite din begins to rise from the streets.

Old Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, and the rest of the Democrat establishment spent Friday commemorating what the Left would have us believe was a greater threat to “our democracy” than the Pearl Harbor attack or 9/11. In the face of this Big Lie that keeps getting bigger, it’s important to remember: There was actually no “insurrection.” There was no plan, no leader, no weapons, and no casualties except among those who entered the Capitol after the police opened the doors. President Trump, who was supposed to be the ringleader of the “insurrection,” told the demonstrators to proceed “peacefully,” and two years of relentless investigations

Let’s end the first week of 2023 with a laugh. There’s a video clip of a routine the late comedian Robin Williams used to do about Joe Biden during the days of the Obama administration. The video gets dusted off every now and then to remind us that we were warned about Joe Biden during the years before he was elected president. Yet, here we are. Joe Biden is president and getting the last laugh.
Here is the video, with a warning. Beware of incoming F-bombs. [Video]
That was back in 2009. Biden has only gotten worse.

People will go to the theater to see a movie that appeals to them. Spider-Man: No Way Home proved this last year. Top Gun: Maverick proved it this year. Avatar: Way of the Water is proving it right now. And those are just the blockbusters.
People also crept out of their homes to see Everything Everywhere All at Once ($69M), Elvis ($151M), Uncharted ($148M), Nope ($123M), Where the Crawdads Sing ($90M), The Woman King ($67M), Free Guy ($122M), The Lost City ($105M), and Ticket to Paradise ($68M).

Republican Kevin McCarthy has been elected as the new US Speaker after winning the 15th vote following chaotic scenes in Congress.
Mr McCarthy's party had taken control of the House – the US lower chamber – following the midterm elections in the autumn, with a slim 222-212 majority.
Usually, election of the Speaker follows seamlessly, as a formality, with the leader of the largest party a shoo-in for the job.
However, recent splits in the Republican party meant that did not happen until the 15th round of voting. In the 14th ballot, Mr McCarthy received 216 votes - one shy of the number needed for a victory - as a small faction

According to Lott’s testimony before the U.S. House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Crime, Terrorism and Homeland Security, the FBI grossly underreported the number of times armed citizens had stopped active shooters.

You remember this one. Last April, Florida put an end to the special status originally granted to Disney World back in 1967. The whole battle began after Disney decided to criticize the “Parental Rights in Education” bill which DeSantis had signed in March. Here’s a bit of background on the deal that was repealed.
Since 1967, Disney has received tax and regulation exemptions for an area known as the Reedy Creek Improvement District. The exemption in effect allows Disney to govern itself on Disney World grounds, including having its own fire department and board of supervisors, as well as its ability to oversee land and environmental regulations.
