The political branding and campaign team behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis have structured a “Win with Ron 2024” strategy constructed around the politicization of the COVID-19 vaccine. Yesterday, the team launched the effort through the governor’s office [Details Here]. The polarizing federal vaccine and mask mandates continue to create an opportunity for exploitation by political interests. The WWR ’24 team see the opportunity within the republican base for Ron DeSantis to create a 2024 lane by presenting himself in alignment with medical autonomy in a similar vein that a candidate might create with strong support for the second amendment.

Comments:

Sundance’s reporting on DeSantis has sounded cynical, but SD IS a Floridian so he sees that scene from very close range. And he has done great analysis on many issues others didn’t touch… We read. We watch. We pay attention. It’s early days.

OP, I wouldn’t describe Sundance’s reporting on DeSantis as cynical. My adjectives for his reporting are paranoid and incoherent. Are we to condemn DeSantis for launching an effort to hold the vaccine makers and the federal government that pushed vaccination to account? If performing a public good is suspect and must be avoided so that the politician responsible doesn’t reap political benefit then nothing good will be done. I know it is hard on Trump supporters that as a private citizen he cannot do the work that DeSantis, or any other elected official, can do. Tough. That’s life. 2024 is just around the corner.

DeSantis promoted the vaccines for the same reason almost everybody did based on promises from Big Pharma that they would prevent Covid. Since then they’ve not only proved to be useless, we have young, healthy athletes dropping like flies while Big Pharma and Fauci walk away with pockets full of cash. I don’t care why DeSantis is doing this. It’s high time someone did.

I give great respect and deference to anything that Sundance writes, but when it comes to DeSantis he sounds a lot like never-Trumpers talking about Trump. We’re never going to get to the truth about the vaccines unless government leaders push it and so far he’s the one taking the lead on it. More power to him. I don’t see anyone holding the dangers of the vaccines against Trump. He was trying his hardest to mitigate an impossible situation. It’s those making money off of them who need to be exposed and held accountable. That’s something Sundance would normally push for but, for some reason, can’t because DeSantis is the one doing it.

Anyone with millions of dollars from the Uniparty backing them, will do and say anything they are told. DS was pushing the vaccine and lockdowns just like everyone else (including DJT). His handlers read the tea leaves early when more info came out, and many of us in Florida are grateful. But I did not hear a peep from DS when Mara-Lago was raided unlawfully which was certainly a tell of his grander intentions. I would trust Trump all day long over him. It looks like the plans to split the party are well on their way.

It seems Sundance’s main beef with DeSantis is if he is backed by RINOs he must be a RINO. Maybe so, but DeSantis is willing to engage on the culture war, which is crucial, and DeSantis may be the best we can do/hope for. We are still two years out, so anything can happen, but WRT Trump, IMO the deep state/media/Uniparty has won, they have destroyed Trump’s political viability, and they haven’t even indicted him yet. It sucks, but at some point we have to accept where we are and the best way forward. Is it DeSantis? I don’t know, but it looks like it right now. And the whole discussion may be moot, as it assumes an election honest enough to allow a Democrat loss.

Lots of pissing in the wind here. Sundance has properly analyzed the 4th branch of government - the Intelligence Branch - and accurately concluded that they truely are a 4th, unelected, unaccountable branch of government that is superior to all other branches. The evidence is overwhelming. Thanks to 9/11 and our Congress and President Bush, the Patriot Act created the foundation that Obama used to weaponize the Intelligence Branch to use against us. As to DeSantis, does it really matter. In 2007, no one knew who Barrak Hussain Obama was. On Tuesday, November 5th, everyone knew who he was. Does everyone think they don't have another Manchurian in the wings? Please! Watch what happens after New Years. A book, local interviews, the Alphabet media, fawning stories of hardship and perserverance, then an announcement. At this point I don't know who that is, but he or she is coming.

For the record, DeSantis has spoken out about the Mara Lago raid. One example that a quick internet search provided: Stumping for Arizona gubernatorial candidate Kari Lake, DeSantis accused the department of having gone “totally off the rails” with its raid of former President Donald Trump’s Florida home. “These agencies have now been weaponized to be used against people that the government doesn’t like,” DeSantis said. “And you look at the raid at Mar-a-Lago.”... “Meanwhile, when you have a law that protects Supreme Court justices is the FBI out there protecting our conservative justices?” he continued. “No.”

However, his very early announcement for 2024 and his stunts like the huge digital trading card announcement yesterday are head scratchers. Trump fatigue is real and its growing. Yes, the headline isn’t really fair to Thom Tillis, the North Carolina Republican senator who wasn’t on the ballot in last month’s midterms. You’ll forgive the unfairness, perhaps. But life isn’t fair. And honestly, Tillis’ lame-duck-session amnesty gambit is deserving of much worse than the headline above. Here’s Stephen Kruiser at PJ Media: One of the more frustrating aspects of being a conservative Republican is the constant need to look over one’s shoulder for stealth attacks by moderate squish members of the GOP on important issues like health care, gun control, and amnesty for illegal immigrants. Such ideological shivs in the back always arrive under the execrable guise of bipartisanship.
