Republicans privately expect Attorney General Merrick Garland to indict former President Donald Trump between 60 and 90 days after the midterm elections, according to a report on Monday.
GOP aides on Capitol Hill and former strategists said they do not have insider knowledge about an indictment on Trump, but they claim that a deadline to indict the former president is quickly approaching and Garland is facing heat from Democrats to act fast. However, indicting Trump could have negative consequences for Democrats, some aides suggested.

I don't want to burst anyone's bubble, but remember: if PDT is tried in DC, 90% of the jury pools consist of dem Hillary/Biden voters, and most of the judges are dems appointed by dems. Trump will have the best lawyers (Guilani is a lush and way past his prime), which is a big help. But don't let his case get to a jury! Personally, I think Garland would be begging for impeachment if he tried this trick, assuming we do as well as most are telling us in the upcoming Congressional election).

I believe Garland will indict President Trump. It is a blood lust that must be satisfied and regardless of the consequences democrats are determined to put the former President in handcuffs. It will be especially critical if they lose big next week. The base must be satisfied and this administration will do it regardless of the harm it will cause.
If the Bidens and Clintons skate with their criminal history and Garland indicts Trump on the sketchiest of charges, the backlash will be massive. This is nothing but a spiteful political act along with a kept promise to all the nutters out there on the left and the majority of Americans know it.
Democrats are continuing to use the DOJ as a weapon against their political enemies with little opposition. Good people are in prison, others are being harassed, families are being bankrupted because of government prosecutions, and there is not much pushback. We just take it and believe everything will change if only we are successful next week. Many people are suffering because the Republican leadership can’t be bothered to aggressively oppose this lawless administration. I don’t see that changing anytime soon. McConnell and McCarthy will continue to ignore the lawlessness and go on with business as usual.

#5 makes a good point. If PDT has already declared his candidacy, then indicting him is election interference. PDT should announce his campaign the day after the midterms.
As an aside, I wonder if Garland has considered what would be revealed in the discovery phase if this ever went to trial.

Garland will do whatever he is told to do. Unfortunately for him, it will mean he will certainly be Impeached. Not for what he's doing to Trump, but for what he has not done during his term as AG. That said, I think the Democrats think just seeing Trump being hauled off in cuffs (and you KNOW they will do that just for the Photo Shots) will dampen the firestorm of Republicans who will vote for Trump. I think it will do just the opposite. Right now a lot of folks are looking at DeSantis and thinking he might be a Better Candidate (with no Baggage). But if Democrats continue to persecute Trump and actually indict him FOR NOTHING, they will indeed awaken the Sleeping Giant of Voters who were on the Fence, but who will say "NO WAY, NOT ON MY WATCH" and come out in Droves to vote Trump for President!

Well, with McConnell and McCarthy in leadership positions if the Rs take back Congress - wait for that big sigh of relief from them if and when Trump is indicted. Those two spineless weasels (no offense to weasels) want to go back to business as usual. Y'all wait until after we vote next week and they will stab us in the back - just as Paul Ryan and McConnell did before after Trump was elected.

No question in my mind that Garland is totally biased and continuing the march toward unequal justice that Obama and Company started BUT am also so angry with Trump and his my way or the highway. Bennett is horrendous in Colorado, destroying the State, and yet because O'Dea does not say that 2020 was a stolen election Trump is urging his loyal to the verge of mindlessness voters to either not vote (remember Ga. and the hell it brought forth) or vote for the Democrat. That is why, no matter how many texts and emails I get daily and no matter how excellent I think Trump was 90% of the time as President, I cannot back him again. He would rather us all go to Hell than vote for a Republican who could clean up our state.

This is just a rallying cry for Trump supporters in the upcoming midterms and in 2024. It might even cost the Democrats a few more seats in Congress.
Not sure why Washington would even bother going after Trump. They got the better of him last time, and if nothing changes it will be more of the same should he become President again.
Of course, money talks, and they want to be rid of Trump once and for all. Trump costs these people money! He's bad for their kind of business! They think they can probably weather any backlash storm.

Remember those halcyon days of the MAGA mob shouting "Lock her up!"? Well, this time the shoe is on the other foot.
Trump will be indicted if needed to eliminate him from the '24 race. If it is done one can expect UNIPARTY cover and/or support - protecting the investment made in '20's outcome that put him out of office. The charge? I would expect tax fraud of some sort, but nothing "political". There may be a DOJ policy regarding election interference, but there's no law against it, either. If FPDT declares this early it will be portrayed as a desperate dodge.
IF the Dems take a pounding next Tuesday, I expect Garland will back down. If the Dems only take "traditional" midterm losses, the game will still be on. It is far too early for this to happen. Strategically, I'd be looking to wait until the '24 race "begins" for any indictment. There's really no hurry.

Another Russia...Russia...Russia scam...the Washington swamp is a bunch of irrational democrats that have no place else to go...stopping President Trump from running in 2024 is their dream so crooked Hillary can run and win....I wouldn't count President Trump out just yet...he's certainly got something up his sleeve...and forcing desantis on US will only alienate MAGA voters...so the rinos can forget that game plan...

We're all full of p*** and vinegar here but realistically, what can we do about it? It would be 2 more years before the next election and I really don't see people with muskets in the streets.
The best that can happen from an indictment, is that Ron DeSantis takes up the Trump mantle and runs as a MAGA candidate based on the Garland travesty.

This plan of the democrats to indict President Trump is not only POLITICAL WAR, BUT IT IS SPIRITUAL WAR!
The demons in hell and in the demonrat party are willing to destroy themselves and our beloved country to stop Trump!
Why? Why not go after Gov. DeSantis like Pres. Trump? We believe it's because Donald Trump knows these demons/Commies well, knows how to fight them, has fought them many years longer than Gov. DeSantis and has the scars to show for that. So with that knowledge, when PDJT re-enters the WH, he knows exactly where to strike these demons and destroy them for the good of our country. And he has fighters around him with the knowledge to do that.
So these evil Commies/demons are fighting for their lives and their desire/hatred to kill off the greatest Country in the world. And with Brazil going Communist this week, we are now in this hemisphere, the last best hope for freedom! Forget Canada with Trudeau, he's a Castro wannabe. Our prayers are with the Trump family for their protection and for God's blessing.

They do realize that an indictment gives the Defendant rights, correct
/ It is nothing like the kangaroo court J^ committee or the mickey mouse DOJ leakathon they enjoy now. They will have to actually provide real evidence and Horror of Horrors, Trump will actually be allowed to (GASP) mount a defense. Which they will actually have to listen and respond to.
I am not sure tey are intellectually capable of doing that. Far better to stick to one sided whispers and paid for propoganda.
Another little twist, the crime at Mar A Lago occurred in Florida, they should also fear a venue outside of the Democrat fortress of DC.

Both democrats and republicans will suffer in a big way if Donald Trump is indicted for anything. The man did more good for this country that any president in history and no professional politician can deny that but they are incredibly jealous of Trump's record and popularity. You can hate him all you like but if you take legal action, you are on thin ice with every patriot in this country.
