President Joe Biden warned oil executives on Wednesday not to use Hurricane Ian as an excuse to raise oil prices, illustrating how important the issue is ahead of the midterm elections.
The president issued the dire warning, even repeating himself, during opening remarks at the White House Conference on Hunger, Nutrition and Health.
“I want to add one more warning. That’s warning to the oil and gas industry executives. Do not, let me repeat, do not! Do not use this as an excuse to raise gasoline prices or gouge the American people,” Biden said during a briefing on Hurricane Ian preparations. “The price of oil has stayed relatively low.

“The price of oil has stayed relatively low."
Ah, going from $4.79 to $5.39 in a month isn't relatively low.

Now we know the real problem. If the Big Guy was getting his 10% from the oil companies then he'd say prices are too low.

DO NOT! Let Me Repeat, DO NOT!
Do Not use the Fake Global Warming Hoax to shut down the Keystone Pipeline, Ban Drilling in ANWR, Rescind valid leases for petroleum production on federal lands, Ban offshore drilling, all of which destroys the US energy independence and has us begging the Saudis, Iranians and Venezuelans for a supply of oil at $150/barrel.
But you did all that, you numbnutz Pedo, Biden.
And for that, you will be impeached

It’s the local store owners that price gouge, but Florida has had price gouging controls in place for years. Sorry Joe too little too late to take credit for this one!

Now, when gas prices shoot up to even higher levels, Biden and the other Marxists will shout "price gouging" to blame it on the oil companies instead of their own stupid policies.

In most States the tax on gasoline is much higher than the profit so let’s not talk about gouging. This phony attempt to sound tough and create drama is lame and sickening.

Government is the only gouger. Its not just the taxes you pay at the pump, there's probably that much and more hidden taxes. Add it up and government probably is taking half the price you're paying. They also get more sales taxes the more it costs including when they increase the tax per gallon. Paying a tax on a tax is so typical of Democrats and something they must love.

Well the oil executives could give Biden and the Democrats a pretty good uppercut during the weeks leading up to the November election by shutting down enough of their refineries for maintenance during the run up to the election that would be bound to cause a temporary raise in gasoline prices about the time that the country is getting ready to vote. Even without that, we have noticed that gasoline prices have been going back up for the last couple of weeks.

More than 45% of U.S. refining capacity is on the Gulf Coast. Last year Hurricane Ida knocked five refineries offline, resulting in an approximate temporary halt in refined product of one million barrels per day (b/d). It took months to recover to full production. Gas prices went up because too much demand was chasing too little gasoline. That is a simple law of economics.

Insecure people think that if they yell, they will be taken seriously.
Feel free to lower the federal tax on gas.
