“The Lamps Are Going Out All Over Europe”

Original Article

Perhaps the most memorable comment at the outbreak of World War I—or at least the one quoted in every history book—came from the British foreign minister Sir Edward Grey: “The lamps are going out all over Europe, we shall not see them lit again in our life-time.” The first half of this statement suddenly applies again to Europe’s energy crisis that threatens a cold and dark winter ahead, and we’ll have to see if the lights of Europe come fully on again in the years to come. Simply put: Europe’s self-inflicted energy crisis is a lot worse than it looks. European nations are scrambling to backstop consumers from having to pay

The operative word here is "SELF INFLICTED" suicide. The world runs on energy at every level and these fools are pushing civilization of the cliff into the abyss of darkness, cold, hunger and suffering. To the people out there in America who understand and can organize such an event . . . we need to march on Washington and let them know we are tired of this f - ing nonsense!

"So far Germany has introduced Europe’s biggest scheme to backstop companies affected by the fallout of the war in Ukraine,"... a war that was triggered by the meddling of the U.S. State Department SPECIFICALLY in 2014 and by the overall desire of the NATO countries in western Europe to spread east into the heartland of the "hated" Russia.. The pointless progression of isolating a nation.. Russia... from the family of nations is the cause of this world wide crisis. Way to go Victoria Nuland, Geoffrey Pyatt, Barack Obama, Joe Biden, Jake Sullivan and all the spineless war hawks in NATO!

Poll after poll as shown that Americans like the idea of a healthy environment but DO NOT WANT TO PAY ($$$) FOR IT. They are willing to make an effort to buy energy efficient appliances, heat pumps, use natural gas, and maybe even buy an EV ($$$) BUT they do NOT want the government paying out big bucks in an effort to combat "climate change". Well, now it's not only the big bucks, it's a lack of available power. This outcome was clearly foreseeable and was predicted. Progressives across the globe heedlessly plowed ahead. Little of the Alarmists predicted disasters have come true. The "science" keeps shifting, which means it is NOT settled. There is a VAST difference between PROVEABLE climate change and PREDICTED climate change. The predicted climate change is a big distorting of the underlying science which is IMPOSSIBLE to improve to the level needed. Climate is too complex for us to accurately analyze. The "solutions" are insane pipe dreams that can never work. An all EV fleet of cars can NEVER be accomplished. Rational people should know this. It's time to hold progressives accountable for their lies.

The Western World has drunk very deeply of the mankind-caused-global-warming cool-aid, and is now embarked on a mis-allocation of society's resources on a scale not seen since the construction of the Pyramids. There is going to be a very high price paid for this, as Reality asserts itself.

By far the most enlightening information Harris said is, “The president has been very clear that he will sign into law, AND NOT LET THE FILIBUSTER GET IN THE WAY, the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and the Freedom to Vote Act, because what is happening in our country, in states around our country, including this very state [Texas], they are passing laws making it more difficult for people to vote." Harris appears to be predicting that - prior to this November, the Democrats intend to bring these two draconian federal statutes back for passage by Congress, and that she believes the Democrats have the votes to bypass the filibuster. These proposed federal acts would allow Congress to micromanage federal, state and local elections, including mandating drop boxes, unsolicited mail-in voting, prohibiting voter IDs, and many other measures to facilitate massive vote fraud.

Berlin, Germany — A senior Israeli official called on Europe and the US on Monday to begin talking about demands for a “longer, stronger” nuclear agreement with Iran, saying current talks aimed at reviving a 2015 pact were dead after Jerusalem provided proof that Tehran had not been forthright during negotiations. The official, traveling with Prime Minister Yair Lapid’s delegation to Berlin on Monday, spoke to reporters hours after the premier said he passed German Chancellor Olaf Scholz “sensitive and relevant intelligence information” on Iran’s nuclear program, and a day after Germany, France, and the United Kingdom issued a statement expressing “serious doubts” over Iran’s sincerity in seeking a nuclear agreement.

I don’t know, and neither do the experts who are charged with predicting them. Hard as it is to believe, our models about how the climate and weather work are not quite as reliable as we have been told. Again and again and again…. Ars Technica has an interesting story that does a fine job of pointing out the huge disconnect between the experts’ predictions of a vicious hurricane season and the welcome lack of tropical storms this year. Back in May NOAA predicted an above average year for tropical storms and hurricanes, and they had reasons to. They claimed that “ongoing La Niña, above-average Atlantic temperatures

The Justice Department continues to ramp up its war with former President Donald Trump and his associates, issuing over 40 subpoenas to his associates over the last week and seizing the phones of at least two top advisors. Many outlets are reporting this as breaking news, but RedState’s Nick Arama had already reported a lot of it going as back as far as Friday. A bit late to the party, The New York Times said on Monday: Justice Department officials have seized the phones of two top advisers to former President Donald J. Trump and blanketed his aides with about 40 subpoenas in a substantial escalation of the investigation into his

Disney CEO Bob Chapek recently suggested that the “essence” of the Disney brand was misused in its opposition of parental rights in Florida, making the remarks months after the company went full groomer in opposing a ban on inappropriate discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in kindergarten classrooms. Florida’s Parental Rights in Education law went into effect this year after several tumultuous weeks of far-left radicals mischaracterizing the bill, even falsely labeling it “Don’t Say Gay.” In reality, the law does not ban any phrase or word but, in part, bars woke classroom discussions on sexual orientation and gender identity in classrooms for children in kindergarten through third grade.

In a filing Monday evening that marked a rare moment of consensus in the case, the Justice Department said Dearie, along with its two other candidates, retired Judge Barbara S. Jones and retired Judge Thomas B. Griffith would be acceptable.

Having promoted the story herself, co-host Brianna Keilar began by informing viewers that “[t]wo weeks after a Duke volleyball player alleged she was called racial slurs during a game against Brigham Young University, an investigation

Van Horn, Texas - An "anomaly" forced an in-flight capsule abort Monday during a Blue Origin flight from West Texas. The New Shepard rocket, now grounded by the Federal Aviation Administration, was not carrying people. It's an earlier version of one that's launched six times with people onboard. One minute and four seconds into its 10-minute mission is when the booster of the Blue Origin NS-23 failed. Just after an irregular jet of flame streaked from the engine, the abort system kicked in and rocketed the capsule away from the failing main stage. “If you go back and play it very slowly

The Justice Department issued 40 subpoenas seeking information about the actions of former President Donald J. Trump and his associates in relation to the 2020 election and the January 6, 2021, attack on the Capitol. Boris Epshteyn and Mike Roman, who were both Trump advisers, have had their phones seized as evidence reports the New York Times, however the new subpoenas have been issued for a wide variety of people around Trump, from low-level aides to his most senior advisers. The action represents something of an escalation in the investigation coming just two months before the midterm elections, following several months of relative calm.

There have been many critiques of polling errors in recent years, especially after the 2016 presidential election. However, polling has always tended to skew toward the Democrats, and the results in several races in the last decade have been very surprising for some politicos. If you pay attention to the polling right now, however, there are some signs that the same errors that have overinflated Democrats’ confidence in the past might be doing so again. Polling analyst Nate Cohn at the New York Times has a piece out this morning that throws a bit of cold water on Democrats’ expectations for keeping the Senate.

We live in an era of stark political division, but there's at least one aspect of politics both sides agree on: a maximum age limit for elected officials. Most feel that after a certain age they should not be permitted to hold office. There isn't just agreement across political lines, but across demographic groups, like age, too. Young and old, including seniors, favor maximum age limits for elected officials. And far more Americans believe additional young people in elected office would be a positive for U.S. politics than a negative. (snip) Age 70 is the top answer chosen.

In comparison to Joe Biden, Barack Obama appears to be a picture of probity, wisdom, and dignity. But in reality, he's just a more unflappable liar, and now that Democrats are on the rocks in the polls, he's cribbed a page from Ronald Reagan, a man he's always had a curious fascination for, claiming that: “The country is better off than when you took office. We should all be deeply grateful for that.” If Obama were ask that as a question, the way Reagan once did, the open-ended answer would not have been to his liking, so Obama supplied the answer, too. He was all gaslighting.
