How to Land in Facebook Jail

Cast your mind back to Thanksgiving in 2020 and 2021, when J. Edgar Fauci was telling us that we could only have something like six people over for dinner, preferably eating outside, and all socially-distanced by at least twelve turkey-lengths, or 0.2 furlongs or something. Someone promptly produced a meme of serial killer Jeffrey Dahmer saying, “No one is going to tell me how many people I can have for dinner on Thanksgiving!” Tasteless and sick, to be sure. Also pretty funny. And not really new. I remember that after the initial shock and horror of Dahmer’s crimes were discovered 25 years ago, the comics got to work with tasteless jokes

Does anyone over the age of 12 still actually keep a Facebook page ? This just strikes me as so passe.....so juvenile. Of course, I exclude Democrat from this standard since none of them have an emotional IQ over the age of 12.

1, I don't know about keep a page per se but my wife's family uses it for basic communication and picture sharing and other trivia. None of them post or read anything outside their close friends and family group. Used that way FB is as harmless as any other social media service (all of them) that violates your privacy, sells you to advertisers and tells the government in real time what you're up to.

You will adhere to Groupthink or be put on probation, possibly booted off Fakebook altogether. My wife got the treatment several days ago when she tried to post material from Derrick Johnson.

I quit facebook one day after Trump was elected in 2016. I now speak with people face to face - mostly. And most people who I know were on facebook aren't on it anymore. Maybe we should hold a lottery for the privilege of nailing the Business Closed sign on Zuck's front door it will happen pretty soon.

#5, The acronym you used has always amused me. In Electrical and Computer engineering it stands for Product Of Sums which is one way of representing a Boolean variable. The complement SOP is Sum Of Products which doesn't trigger any flags. I use and enjoy Facebook on a daily basis. Just mostly photos of friends and relatives. And it has some fascinating stuff on math, science, history (real history). Avoid anything controversial such as politics, religion, and sports. In the crazy world we live in there are people who will threaten you with violence if you say something about sports they don't like. I enjoy football but it is just jocks running into each other. You go to the stadium, get drunk out of your mind, and start yelling Our Jocks are Better than Your Jocks. So what?

I don't like FaceBook, but was pressured by relatives to "get on FaceBook" so I could see pictures and family posts. I decided to create a "dummy account" with my alternate email and posted NOTHING at all on my page. I have commented on cute babies and memorial commemorations, that's about it. Then my mother died. We were settling the estate and selling the house without a realtor. I posted an ad on both CraigsList and FaceBook Marketplace...short description, pictures of the home, etc. The first time I went back to modify the ad, I was informed that I had violated their policy and had been banned from FaceBook Marketplace. Supposedly you can appeal this decision, except you can't--that page has no functionality. You really cannot contact FaceBook at all, and I shouldn't care--but this made me angry. The only thing that makes sense is that they have monitored other websites (comments) and identified me as a dangerous conservative. Seriously, I never posted anything and only commented on family photos and funerals. I think the surveillance is much more pervasive and widespread than we can imagine.

"For here we are not afraid to follow truth wherever it may lead, nor to tolerate any error so long as reason is left free to combat it." That's Thomas Jefferson, the Father of the University of Virginia, describing his beloved institution's creed to English historian William Roscoe. I think it is also a fitting description of the American Thinker community, who often tussle with difficult stories because that is where the truth takes us. Several members of the community recently focused my attention on the plight of J6 political prisoner Jonathan Mellis, who has already spent nineteen months in the American Gulag for the "crime"

Please pause for a moment and say a prayer for the vulnerable and terrified Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Mars), a key member of Amerikkka’s marginalized community of color. So marginalized, despised, discriminated against, and harassed is AOC that she had to take to the pages of GQ, that plucky, ragtag samizdat mouthpiece of the people, to explain just how marginalized and harassed she is. In a loving interview topped with lavish glamor shots of the rising political star, a teary-eyed AOC revealed that there is such a tidal wave of misogyny in the evil, MAGA-ridden United States today that she isn’t even sure she will live through the month of September.

Because most people don’t know a farmer personally anymore, everyone should realize that they don’t make piles of money producing our food. A good year can be followed by three bad ones, and 2022 has been a burden. Between record heat waves in the U.S. and abroad, droughts in the middle of the country, fertilizer shortages, and rising costs for just about every farm input, many American farms are on the brink. Everyone will feel the pinch in continued food price increases and shortages at the store. As bad as the agricultural outlook is in America, it is far worse in Europe. Pennsylvania Democratic Senate candidate John Fetterman has made criminal justice reform a big part of his campaign. As lieutenant governor, Fetterman oversees the board of pardons and called it his “bully pulpit” for criminal justice reform. But what kind of “reform” is Fetterman looking to enact? In January, he named long-time criminal justice reform advocate Celeste Trusty to serve as secretary of the board. Trusty has repeatedly bragged about her “friendship” with Mumia Abu-Jamal, who murdered Philadelphia police officer Daniel Faulkner in 1981. Freeing Abu-Jamal because of his “wrongful conviction” has been a radical left cause for everyone from the pope to pop stars so it’s not surprising

Liberals tell us that we are in the midst of a transition from fossil fuels to wind and solar energy. The reality is that no such transition is taking place, nor will it. This video by Professor Simon Michaux, who doesn’t take issue with global warming hype, explains one of several reasons why this is true: the mineral requirements of a wind- and solar-based energy system can’t possibly be met. This description accompanies the YouTube video: "The quantity of metal required to make just one generation of renewable tech units to replace fossil fuels, is much larger than first thought. Current mining production of these metals

The Epoch Times is reporting that embalmers from around the nation are speaking out about strange blood clots they have been finding in the bodies of the deceased since around 2020 or 2021. (Snip) The clots are said to be white, fibrous, and rubbery and can be the size of a grain of sand or as long as a human leg. They can be as thick as a pinky finger. EAGLE, Colorado -- There is something going on here in Colorado politics that is not much different than what happened in Virginia exactly one year ago: a shift away from the status quo and the odds-on favorite Democrat toward his Republican challenger. Sen. Michael Bennet, D-Colo., is seeking a second full term against Republican challenger Joe O'Dea. And the question, in a state where people tend to dislike both parties but increasingly favor Democrats, is whether O'Dea is independent enough to earn their vote. Democrats viewed O'Dea as enough of a threat that they dropped $10 million into the Republican primary to manipulate voters

If there is anything that has advanced American society, you can be sure that ‘woke’ leftists will destroy it. So it is with Title IX – a one-sentence statute of the Education Amendments of 1972 that ended sex-based discrimination in educational institutions, opened the doors for women aspiring to become doctors, engineers, or experts in any field of choice, brought parity to college sports, and launched the battle against sexual harassment. In this fiftieth year of that landmark law, the Biden administration wants to rewrite it to suit the radical leftist ideology of gender identity and fluidity. This is dangerous because it codifies the spreading gender derangement of the left.

A long-held secret. After discussing various topics in the upcoming series, O’Donnell changed direction, saying to Hillary, “You also reveal why you wear a pantsuit?”

Manchin, who had originally pledged not to sign on to any new spending bill during the country’s current inflationary boom, suddenly switched his position at the end of July. The bill he negotiated, which cost nearly a trillion dollars, was full of wasteful green energy subsidies and payouts to special interests. It also represented a stabbing in the back of Republican senators who had trusted him to keep his word about reconciliation after voting for the CHIPS Act.
