Bank of America Won’t Require Down Payments

The Bank of America announced it will not require down payments on loans in certain primarily Black and Hispanic neighborhoods in five U.S. cities. The new program from Bank of America is “aimed at helping first-time homebuyers in Black and Hispanic neighborhoods by offering mortgages that don’t require down payments, closing costs or minimum credit scores,” according to Bloomberg. The loans will also not require mortgage insurance. The trial program is being rolled out “in certain Black/African American and/or Hispanic-Latino neighborhoods” in five U.S. cities: Detroit; Miami; Los Angeles; Dallas; and Charlotte, North Carolina. Dubbed the “Community Affordable Loan Solution,” the program will determine eligibility

Comments:

Illegal, you say? Who in our commie government will object? President Boy George pulled the same stunt in 2002 with his America's Homeownership Challenge, and its NINJA loans, which eventially crashed the economy. And of course the bankers knew in advance that they'd be bailed out by the taxpayers, or they'd never have written loans that probably won't be repaid.

BofA knows how to make a profit. No money down means more money due in the future. No closing costs means higher interest rates, borrower rates based on the risk of not paying.

Glad we don’t own any stock in BofA. Let’s just hope they keep these loans in house rather than selling the mortgages on the open market. OTOH, after 2008 who would be dumb enough to buy a mortgage portfolio from this bank?

I agree Ribicon. I remember those times. People who didn’t have money or work history were allowed to buy homes. They would buy a nice house trash it and stop making payments on their mortgage as they didn’t have money to pay off mortgage. Interest rates were as high as 20 %. The housing market went bust.

What could possibly go wrong? If you haven't been able to save enough money for even a little bit of a down payment on a house, you probably can't afford to buy a house.

Banks cannot sell any bank product unless it gas been approved by the Federal Goobermunt. The banks were pressured by the governnent to make the initial mortgage payments on those balloon loans low so the poor folk were enticed to sign on the dotted line and the government could crow about all the poor they helped into home ownership. All approved by your pals, Chris Dodd and Bawney Fwank.

California Democrats in the State Assembly and State Senate have advanced legislation that would make the state a sanctuary where out-of-state parents can take their children to undergo sex change procedures. On Monday, the legislative body passed Senate Bill (SB) 107 along party lines, with all 19 Republican assemblymembers voting against it and 60 Democrats supporting it. State Senator Scott Weiner introduced the bill, and a release from his office asserted it would “provide refuge for trans kids and their families.” On Wednesday, Weiner announced it had passed the State Senate and “was on its way to” Gov. Back in the 90s, at the height of the Monica Lewinsky scandal, the establishment media hammered home the proposition that the individual character of a chief executive didn’t matter. A recent top-secret cable sent by CIA Headquarters to its field stations apparently warned in stark terms of the loss of a substantial number of assets. In particular, the message focused on issues with the secure handling of sources and apparent errors made by CIA case officers that had led to the compromise of their sources. If true, this news ought to alarm every American, and drastic, corrective action ought to be taken immediately. CIA is taking a lot of hits these days. It should. Its leadership has gone dangerously astray and gotten involved in domestic political matters which should never be the province of a foreign intelligence organization.
