Presidential historian Michael Beschloss said Thursday on MSNBC’s “All In” that he was part of a group of historians that advised Presidentii Joe Biden that democracy was in danger like it was before the Civil War and World War II.
Hayes said, “President Joe Biden just delivered an argument on behalf of American democracy. The speech is a response to the acute threat Donald Trump and what he calls MAGA Republicans continue to present to the future of the American experiment following his attempted coup and as they quite openly plot another.” He added, “Biden was reportedly inspired in part by a closed-door meeting with a group of historians

Did this group of presidential "historians" bother to remind President Asterisk that he is the worst president in the history of the country?

Michael Beschloss is a historian the same way Lawrence Tribe is an attorney or Paul Krugman an economist.
They’re all pundits pushing a hard left agenda hiding behind their supposed professional credentials as cover and to lend an air of credibility to their baloney.
…. which is a diplomatic way of saying none of them have the slightest idea what the hell they’re talking about in a professional sense.

The very people who have been dismantling our republic bolt by bolt are utterly convinced that they are the ones actually saving it. Their delusion is total, and their commitment is terminal.

The speech and the backdrop did not sound like 1860 or 1940. They looked and felt foreign. Like 1937.

I hope and pray our "democracy" IS in danger. Their use of that descriptor means basic control of everything by the Federal Government. No thanks. I'd prefer we remain a Constitutional Republic and that OUR Constitution be the bedrock of our Republic.

Beschloss was thoroughly discredited 20 years ago, after writing a "history" book that stated that guns weren't that common in colonial America, and that the Second Amendment didn't mean anything. He was asked to provide his research for the book; the couldn't produce it, and instead attacked the people who questioned him. How did he make it back into the good graces of historians? Is being a leftist enough?
This guy is a fraud. It's no wonder he talks to Biden.

You DemoRATS just want to make it that way to blame conservatives and the GOP and to justify whatever unconstitutional actions you'll take should conservatives and the GOP take the bait.

This is sheer nonsense. But then there is the hard truth, that politics for the past decades, since Bush43, have made an ugly turn that I associate with the end of the Soviet Union and its "threat" that was a large part of our national consensus. Following Bush43 came another blow...the unabated Clinton Corruption that has now inculcated itself into our government. Toss in 9/11, that last flash of true modern patriotism, and the continued rise of theatric, confrontational media (CNN's Crossfire, for example) and the polarization grew. Compounding things were the great national trade of liberty for security that brought us the Patriot Act, FISA courts and an era of "I got nothing to hide".
The Obama gang weaponized it with the Deep State's full cooperation, demonstrated by the Trump "assassination" and '20 election coup that certainly happened with the full cooperation of the FBI and other "most trusted" institutions.
And here we are...the profiteers are now older, the next generation more radical, the population almost wilfully ignorant and under constant "fear porn" bombardment. Biden is merely pounding those square pegs into the round holes. He's far from alone in that task.

Does Beschloss remember the Democrat Party tantrums leading up to Trump's inauguration? They are talking about the haste in which Trump packed due to questions over the election.... Do they remember it was same for Obama? That he did not plan to go, that funds for the transition were denied to Trump, that people came to DC specifically to try to bodily prevent the inauguration, that the city was actually lit on fire by those people, who put poison gases into building pipes, etc etc.? I think he totally forgot these things happened because he liked them. twotieredsocalledjustice

#16 nails this lying, extreme leftist who poses as a "historian" but only writes leftist lies. And the comparison to Krugman is equally apt. Krugman is NEVER correct on any of his economic "predictions" which are always a political spin for the leftists, and always wrong, always.
Beschloss was proven to be a total fraud with his Second Amendment "research" which he couldn't produce sources for, or the sources he did produce literally did NOT say what he said that they did. Just bald faced lying, hoping no one would actually check any of his "scholarship"....because it was all lies.

Beschloss isn't much of an historian if he thinks the demosluts are worried about the loss of democracy or the Constitution and that Republicans are responsible for that loss. Apparently after all that studying of history, he hasn't learned a thing.

For an historian, Mr. Beschloss is horribly biased. How about calling him a propagandist? It would be more accurate.

Beschloss did a book years ago about the Francis Gary Powers U-2 incident. A friend of mine was interviewed by him, and the information he gave comprised one paragraph of the book. In that ONE paragraph, Beschloss managed to spell my friend's name wrong and incorrectly state his profession.
Biased and terribly sloppy. But hey, he's leftist, nice-looking, and articulate, and thus a media darling.
