President Biden has formally announced plans to give civilian federal employees a pay raise next year, an election-year promise bound to please government workers struggling with high inflation like the rest of the voters. In a letter to congressional leadership, Mr. Biden said civilian federal employees will see an average 4.6% boost in pay beginning Jan. 1, consistent with his 2023 budget proposal in the spring. The raise includes an across-the-board 4.1% increase and locality pay that will increase by an average of 0.5%. Mr. Biden cited a growing pay gap between federal civilian and private sector employees that have led to recruitment and retention challenges

Just like in the Nomenklatura of the old Soviet Union... this makes ALL government employees wealthier and more secure than the people who pay the taxes (or the cost of government fed inflation) by working in the real world.

Go for it Biden, like a goose on a June bug! You should get on this pay raise for federal employees that make on average 117% in pay and benefits more than comparable private sector jobs. Retirement with a lifelong pension is tough too!. This will make you really popular. Also, you need to help Fauci since he's retiring.

Biden makes things up. Federal employees have had pay raises every year, and make 150% of what private employees make, receive 3 times as much vacation, and inflated retirements, while most private employees receive nothing. Biden never fails to be detestable, but there is one punishment he can never escape, and that is he is Biden, whom nobody wants to be.

Hey Fed Employees, (AKA Buracracy Democrats). Biden gave you a 9.1% inflation rate and a 4.6% raise. Dumb-dumbs, he just handed you a 4.5% pay cut and expects you to say "thank you, now I'll definitely vote for Democrats in November." Being a chump and hammering your own life is one thing, I wish they wouldn't take the rest of us along for the ride.

while adding 87,000 to the IRS payroll....where exactly does he plan to gather 87,000 people who are cognizant, let alone competent, in the 15,000 often confusing/contradictory tax laws? Is he going to give them subsidized scholarships via community colleges/online courses to create them as well? Will each new hire have to pass an audit 1st? Certainly they will have to have a pristine record and credit score....right?
(I took and aced 23 classes via the "FEMA University" online, after being approved and security checked...only to be denied hire because my son was by then in default on his school loans, including his parents plus portion which apparently showed up on MY credit score)

I went on-line at https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/ to renew our Global Entry passcards (they have our photos, fingerprints, passport information, and birth certificates). The bride and I paid $50 each for the renewals. This was a month ago.
I called the hidden phone number https://ttp.cbp.dhs.gov/ to get a status update. The wait time to get to Level 1 was an hour. Level 1 than transferred me to Level 2.
The idiot on Level 2 looked up my renewal request and then said:
"This can take from 12 to 18 months to process."
"It took three weeks including showing up at the Global Entry office to get the original Global Entry card. You are tell me that with all my information in the system it will take from 12 to 18 months to process?"
"That's not what I said. I said it can take from 12 to 18 months to process?"

"You really need to get another job. You truly suck at this one."
And this jackass is up for a raise by the imposter-in-chief?
Your government stuck on stupid, incompetence, and tone deaf.

Democrats have no need to buy the fed employee vote, since they already own it, but they figure they may as well toss a few more bucks to their constituents since it's other people's (our) money, anyway.

Why would federal employees be pleased as punch if Biden proposes to Congress that they receive a 4.6% pay raise in 2023 if the inflation rate is about 8.6%?

Unfortunately, #14, if you had been
“In” with the right nice swampy Democrat or in some cases good RINO ones, none of those “disqualifiers” would have stopped you from being hired right away. These are the general regulations but broken when they want to hire someone. If Elaine Chao has top security clearances, they truly mean very little.

There's no inflation, but here's a raise to offset inflation. An 18% raise would keep pace with government-caused inflation, so make it 25% for all the good work they do. The rest of us can just tighten our belts a little more because federal workers, who are 100% supported by the rest of us, including the taxes "they" pay, are the heart and soul of America.
